Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
The crew filed back together, excluding one member who was suspected of sleeping in his room.
“Will someone go get that lead-butt?” The captain demanded, but the crew shifted nervously – noone wanted to pop into his room unannounced.
“Fine, leave him. I see you have selected a person to be imprisoned. Glyphz, come forward.”
Glyphz protested that he meant to be more active in the hunt, but that he had been distracted. But he did not struggle, and was led into the cryo-chamber after a moment.
"One last thing, crew - make sure you make a correct count of the votes. Continued indiscretions will not be tolerated"
With that, the captain gave another warning to be vigilant, and the crew solemnly went back to their rooms for the night.

pizzaguy, you behaved out of character in the previous day phase (not many posts compared to day 1).
Any explanation for this?

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
The Tally that CR presented in his "lynch" writeup, lists Killed (0) as an tally entry.
I don't know what to make out of this, but my "hangman" theory seems not to hold water.
Why aren't the agent killing?

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
Log 2.3.
Just woke up from a bad dream, I dreamt someone else, who hadn't fulfilled any function on the spacecraft yet had bad intentions. I woke up from my own screaming "it's a lurker, that's why there were no kills yet!".
I took a glass of water from the tap and went to the bathroom, ate some lembas and went straight back to bed....
my lovely bed.

Bad grammar! This is clear evidence that Sigurd writes for Camelmonthly.

Log 2.3.1.
Woke up again from a sound in my room, when I looked up I just a dark figure running out the room. It looked like Andres.
I was in shock, someone stole my camelmonthly's monthly cameltoe centerfold.
I quickly ran to my archives and took the centerfold of one of my sparecopies and put it back up.

After having another look at the centerfold, I could finally get some sleep again.

A tad petty? We all have busy lives, pizzaguy's is no different. You act like he's expected to count how many posts he made and post equal or better the next phase.
Take it this way as well, the behavior of the mafioso hasn;t changed, yet pizzaguy's has. That doesn;t seem to fit in my book.

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
I still don't wants going on.....perhaps the opening debate was so deadly on the mafia that he decided to throw heat off himself by not killing any one....I still blame khann and ATPG for the opening confusion.:inquisitive:

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
Vote: Abstain
If the mafia is not killing, it may be said we are digging ourselves into a hole if we're lynching people without significant evidence. If we lynch no one and the mafia continues to leave us alive, we may get closer to finding the guilty party without lynching the innocents on the way.
EDIT: Scratch that, it's a night phase isn't it? You and your food-voting confused me! My argument holds if the mafia continues not to kill.

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
It was late at night, or at least the night according to the ship’s schedule. The cosmos passing by out the portholes did not change in accordance to the clocks.
One member of the crew woke from his sleep with an urge that he could not deny. Looking around him, he crept out of bed, taking care where he placed his feet as he made his way to the door. In the corridor, he moved quickly and silently, focused on his goal. Finally, he reached his destination, the bathroom, and sweet relief was his.
On the way back to his room Lord Winter suddenly heard noises behind him. He turned immediately, on full alert, to see the door swing shut. He turned again to look to where he was going and saw shadows step out of the dark. They moved into the light with a strange slowness, the light creeping up their bodies, though Lord Winter knew it must only be a second, and he could see they both had objects in their hands.
“What is this?!” he demanded.
The men stopped, and one spoke, “This is the salvation of our planet, terrorist!”
Lord Winter lunged at the closed door behind him, but it did not budge. The two men advanced upon him, raising their weapons. Lord Winter saw them and started to yell, but they were upon him in an instant. The result was a sickening crunch of metal on bone that left the floor wet with blood.
The man who spoke earlier rapped on the closed door, and it opened, letting the two bloodied men through, stepping over the body of Lord Winter. The door shut behind them, as another figure made good his escape from the scene in the opposite direction.
****************************************
The night after that was frenzied after the body of Lord Winter was found. Groups were organized to hunt for whoever was responsible, but none were successful. Men yelled and sprinted about the ship, bursting into rooms and throwing about anything that could be used to hide.
Finally, the excitement had died down and the Captain called another meeting of the crew.
“Friends, this is a difficult time. Whoever is working against us has ascended to a new level of evil. The supporters of the tyranny are willing to kill to hold the human race in thrall. But we will not give up, and I swear that we will return to earth successful if I must die to accomplish it. So go now and find the gopher-screwer that did this.”
The men were taken aback by the Captain's rare use of invective, and set about determinedly to find who had done this.

:mean: ...
At least three of them. Let's free the men in the cryo-chamber. They must be innocent.
I am thinking a team of active and lurker players hiding amongst us and they have covered their tracks well.
Odd choice of target though. LW isthe number one lurker and I meant to vote him this round if there were no kills.

If the mafia guys didn't start out knowing each other, that may explain the lack of a kill - maybe they did investigations instead, trying to find their twin (or the detective, to get rid of him).
If that's so, it marks them as cautious players, which (making a leap) also might mark them as seasoned players.
Not much to go on, but it's early times.
This post caught my eye again.
I am basing this on a hunch here... In the informed minority Kukri?

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
CR, will there be WoG's in this game?
If so, after how many phases of inactivity will it occur?
-
Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
I agree with sigurd that we should free the persons in the airlock. The chances that they have anti-town roles is just to small.
I don't believe Kukri to be an agent. Why would a agent reveil such info when there was enough desinformation floating around that could be far more useful to agents.
Vote; White eyes for being under the radar so far.

Log 2.4.
Slept like a baby the whole night, knowing that a camelmonthly's monthly cameltoe was on the wall.
Andres knocked on the door, with a weird story about some dreadful event, I really couldn't be bothered to listnen en just said, yea free the prisoners and you should know better to wake me.
vote:Andres
After that, I went to the toilet, took a short -warm- shower, a slice of pizza and a glass of water, feeling all warm fuzzy and clean I went straight back to bed. I love my job

Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
I think what happened is that we started out with one mafia. Instead of killing for two nights, he recruited two additional people. That's why we found two instances of literature in the engine room.
-
Re: The Prometheus: Large Mafia Game (In Progress)
So it seems that the Mafia have responded to my taunts of their ineptitude, if I could be so presumptuous and self-important. :shame: They are still stupid for letting two nights with no kills, and only causing minor confusion (by my standards of course :laugh4:).
However, I'm not sure I agree with attacking people for speculating on the nature of the Mafia. It may have been a valid tactic early on or before the game started, but now it's not, as the Mafia have obfuscated things (poorly, they are dumb Mafia, but still some) and gotten the crew talking.
Therefore, I do not believe that KukriKhan-sama or Chaotix27 or Yoyoma1910 should be imprisoned yet. I agree with Peasant Phill that the Mafia have clouded things up a bit, and would not be THAT stupid to give precise logistics of their operation. "Always trust in the stupidity of the Mafia" rings true, but the only Mafia to be stupid enough to blatantly incriminate himself was yours truly and even I did it in two separate games :laugh4:.

Yes. The terms are rather nebulous, but after several voting periods in a row of not voting or even more missed votes overall.
Also, the prisoners cannot be freed.

Log 2.4.1.
I woke up in a wet bed, I had had no dreams of camels or harem-woman, and I went to the toilet before, so it must be sweat...
Then I remembered my dream...it was weird and frightening... I had the urge to barricade my door, which I did quite succesfully and wrote on a piece of paper "unvote:Andres Vote:Reen Roink", which I slipped under the door before putting my archivecabinet full of camelmonthly's against the door.
The room was pretty much a fortress now and I shouldn't be bugged again in my sleep by either annoying fellow-travelers, or nasty dreams.
After that, I went...to bed. My lovely bed.
