Taking save
Save is back...
The Reich is one Kaiser down... and 3232 florins poorer.
Philippe has hired two companies of Mercenary spearmen for the battle (1320 florins out of 1600) and has now taken position on the bridge south of the battle.
The German army has retreated to Nuremburg.
I took the liberty of building a watchtower at the border to keep a vigilant watch over that city.
I've also sent Gaspard de Neufville back towards Antwerp as that seemed Ignoramus' wish.
OOC : it might be a good idea to adjust the taxes in Frankfurt which turned red with the departure of Philippe and his army (though there remains a single full unit of militia in town).

Built two watchtowers. We now watch over Toledo as well as the heretical Moors to the south. I will build more in the northern part of Iberia next turn unless the Seneschal says otherwise.

Louis (and as far as I'm aware de Perrone too) is available to build a watch tower at his current location if the Seneschal so desires.

Current Events
The English have taken Dublin. Scotland and England have been at war the last season, and the English, bringing an army from Ireland, have laid siege to Edinburgh (OOC: I think passing the save around during the AI move prevented me from getting this announcement in 1098). I guess that answers my question about still seeking an alliance with the Scots.
The Mohomaddens have called a Jihad on Baghdad.
Venice and Milan are now at war.
Domestic Affairs
Some of our nobles have gained traits:

Many buildings were completed this season:

Several buildings were begun: A Church in Paris, a small Church in Marseille and a Town Guard in Antwerp.
Due to the fine efforts of many of our nobles, a number of watchtowers have been built around the realm.
Our spy, Aubert Fevre, impatiently left the fleet in Wales and is setting out across land.
Foreign Affairs
Princess Constance arranged an annuity of 500 florins for the Church that will last through the rest of my term. Our reputation did not increase immediately, but I hope it will in the future.
Geoffroi Cressonsacq has given up negotiating with the Germans and is heading north to pursue negotiations with the Danes.
Herve de Savoie, on his way to Bordeaux, discovered that the English have taken possession of Pamplona. He has begun negotiations anew with them. I will report on his preliminary findings in the Conseil.
Military Affairs
The Germans seem to be redeploying after the loss of their Kaiser. Many of the forces that had been concentrated in Bern are heading northeast.

I have once again taken position at the Moselle ford, why mess with a good thing?
Militia companies were added at Dijon and Marseille. A Spear Militia company joined the Frankfurt garrison.
Recommendations
Upper Rhine: I recommend that Gaeten de Rethel withdraw to a safer location. I believe that between myself and Duc Raymond, we can handle any forces in the area. I would recommend that Duc Raymond give his subordinate Raoul de Châtillon permission to deploy their army from Dijon if needed. What use is an army, one larger than my own I might add, if it is never used?
Lower Rhine: There appear to be no threats as the Germans scramble to reorganize.
Wales: Duc Alain, you have command of the fleet, but you did not withdraw anyone from Caernarvon at all last season. If you want you and your men off that rock I suggest you begin moving, n'est-ce pas?
Please bring any suggestions or comments to the Conseil.

Disbanded some of the costly mercenaries of Caernarvon. Left the more experienced men with Alain.

Built one more watchtower this turn. Unless the Seneschal objects, I'll build one to the north next turn to watch over Pamplona and that will finish Raynaud's tour of Iberia.

It appears that GH's watchtower building expedition was overwritten by mistake. I'm pm'ing him so he can recreate it. I looked at the other moves since and they all look like they're still in (YLC is towards Toulouse, AG is on a boat (cue ancient SNL reference: He's on a BOAT)). I didn't see anything else missing, but if you did something critical I'd check it.
