Ahh danm!...
I forgot to post it
here is da turn,
Ghorids Up
This campaign is painfully slow :wall:
indeed!,
A turn per month...
In my honest opinon, we should get rid of some dead weight, or something, speed up this campaign:idea2:
First question - did you pm Ironfist at twcenter as Quirl requested?
Second question - what exactly are you proposing?
There are 12 human factions in this game - if everyone uses the whole of their deadline each turn will take 26 days. That's the way the game is set up.
I would like it to go faster too, but I'm not sure what you're suggesting by 'getting rid of dead weight'.
If you mean booting players, I would rather do the following:
- Start skipping turns instead of subbing them when the deadline runs out, so people get the message that if they are late then their turn is forfeit. If someone wants a sub they have to organise it in advance so the deadline doesn't pass without play.
- Three turns skipped and then you're out, your faction gets taken over by a new player or switched to AI. At least that's what I tried to enforce in the game I ran and it worked pretty well.
- We could also make the deadline 36 hours instead of 48.
One last thing - if you want the game to go faster simple maths will tell you that knocking out human factions will speed things up - so go to war!
Good suggestions. I've been simply subbing, but skipping sends a message. And I like the "three strikes you're out" rule. I'm hesitate to cut the "dead weight" this early on, however, but I'd be willing to change the deadline to 36 hours instead of 48-- not as drastic as 24 hours, but decreases the time. Sound good?
And yes, be sure to PM those players marked in the participants section at the TWCenter.
No, 48 hours is fine...
Subbing is also preferable...
What i mean by getting rid of some dead weight...
is there are some people who constantly go over the 48 hour deadline, and nothing is done!...
I just think if people consecutively skip their turn, we should just change the faction to AI. They probabbly won't miss it much considering they never play...
Right?...
and then the game can go a lot smoother, and faster.
Well, no one I know of constantly goes over the 48 hour limit. The only person who was somewhat doing that was Cultured, who was having trouble with his BC install; but now he's letting his ally Ramses sub for him until he gets his new laptop (and even then, he usually informed me to sub for him before his turn limit was up). Even Iron Fist has only gone over the limit one time. I know of no one else who has actually gone over the limit. See, most people, when they go slowly, don't actually go over the limit, they just take the second day to do their turns. Again, nothing can be done about this except to make a rule change (or to just start booting players for really no reason... which obviously wouldn't be very fair).
The problem is we have 12 players, each with 48 hours to do his or her turn. That means turn rotation could last over 21 days (2 weeks). We actually aren't even near that average, considering it's been a month and a half until we started, and we're on turn 4 now (average of one turn every 10 days).
Just start killing players, guys, and decrease our gene pool. :winkg:
... or, agree on a rule change. I personally like some of Phonic's suggestions...
In my campaign in twcenter, there are no AI factions and we achieved sometimes even 4 turns per day. The term is 24 hours and it can be extended to 48 hours if a good reason is given. Anyway it is recommended that turns to be taken a.s.a.p. not to use the full extent of the term. Of course most important thing is that players are dedicated to the game so they have an interest to take their turn quickly and not to be pushed every time and I must say the great majority of players in my campaign are dedicated:2thumbsup:
Trying to say that we are not dedicated? XD, lol. =p I originally come from the .org! XD
but in all seriousness, I agree with civic. We should encourage people to speed up turn playings.
Alright, you guys can drop me from this game, since it's obvious that it's referring to me. The truth of the matter is that my turns fall somewhere between Friday night and Sunday morning (it's Friday night that I can get on the forum to check, which I usually do from my sister's house whom I visit most weekends-her comp. won't meet the minimum req.s for M2TW, so no real chance of installing on her machine. My turn has consistently been posted sometime during work on Friday) .
These are the one part of the week when I'm just not at home (I usually leave Fri. afternoon and get back home Sunday evening). So, if you need the turns to go faster, you guys can drop me. I would like to continue playing, but I understand if my long time to take the turn on weekends is causing the rest of you guys undue aggravation.
Just let me know what you decide.
Well, I'm not just gonna to be dropping players for no reason; so, don't worry about it, man.
Personally, this is getting kinda old. I agree that it would be nice for the game to pick up, but unless you have specific rule changes to suggest in order to accomplish this, let's just drop it for now.
I donno, Give them a reward, XD lol... i donno.. try talking it up?
Ironfist is over the deadline - Quirl have you heard from him or can he be skipped?
TriforceV you didn't respond to say whether you pm'd him at TWC to let him know it is his turn - did you do that?
Well, I think the deadline is officially around 1:00 clock tonight. But I'm just going to skip anyways.
I PM'd Iron Fist at his 24 hour limit at the TWCenter and heard nothing back. So, oh well...
Done.
Rajputs.

As you can see I was not quick enough and I don't see why you should even keep me in this game. I just don't find hotseats interesting anymore and I have too many games running for my opinion, so kill me if you wan't but yeah, it happens.
lol. Ok, man. Didn't know you were that busy. Hate to see ya go, but I understand.
I'll take ya off the list...
Kypchacks!

Subbed. I hope Balthor doesn't mind, but I know he's been having trouble with his BC install and I haven't heard back from him. So...
Seljuks!
