Re: Reports (Save Game thread)
Chancellor Report, Summer 264 BCE
Construction:
Expanded the governing infrastructure in Antiocheia, and - through private donations of the Basileus - started the installment of a proper government in Ammonion.
The religious infrastructure, centred on Naiskos Dios-Ammonos, has been finished in Hierosolyma, city-state festivals are now held in Damaskos and Tarsos. Paraitonion has now been slightly better defended by the construction of walls.
Recruitment:
The 1st Syrian Army has been retrained with the exception of the Toxotai, and has finally been outfitted with a proper cavalry wing: Machimoi Hippeis trained in Alexandreia and Hippakontistai trained in Memphis.
The garrison in Hierosolyma has been retrained as well.
Diplomacy:
The Koinon Hellenon, our allies, has declared war upon our other allies, the Epeirotes. Forced to take a side, the Basileus chose the side of the Koinon Hellenon, and thus our alliance with Epeiros has ended.
Misc.:
The navy has continued sailing south and will reach the pirates in the autumn.
Hermon Alexandreianos's wife, Ptolemais, has given birth to a second son, Python Alexandreianos. May the gods watch over him.
Alexandros Thraikikos is an Olympic victor!

Taking save
I have marched to the Seleucid border in Syria Koile with my army and set up camp. Palmyra is within marching distance, but I would like more intelligence on enemy troop strength there before making my next move.

Re: Reports (Save Game thread)
Taking the save.
While heading north, A company of my Peltastai spotted a notable force of dissenting machimoi in Upper Egypt. Too few in number to properly engage them, we withdraw back to Diaspolis-Megale.
Attachment 1621
I disembarked from my ships at Cape Tainaron (Southern tip of Greece- EB FAQ says it is a special area that isn't reachable by land, and isn't technically supposed to be owned by any faction)- I might recruit mercenaries there, but for now I am just hunkering down there for a while.
Here's the save.

Battles:
Admiral Euphron defeated the pirates in the Red Sea and is returning to port for retraining.

Ankhwennefer Philometer has died due to some unknown illness.
A suitor to Artakama was rejected.

Re: Reports (Save Game thread)
Moved our spy Aristokrates Heliopolites around a bit to scout the area north of Palmyra in order to see if there are Seleucid armies in the area that might come to Palmyra's aid. As there are none, I moved my army east into the enemy province of Tadmor and laid siege to Palmyra. The enemy army is slightly superior in numbers, but if they sally, I'm confident I can handle them.

Re: Reports (Save Game thread)
Our loyal spy Aristokrates Heliopolites spotted an enemy army coming to the aid of the besieged town of Palmyra. As I did not want to fight two armies at once, I lifted the siege and attacked the relief army. They were no match for my men and were utterly crushed.
