I love this kind of music. I credit Fallout 3/New Vegas for introducing me into a genre that is now my favorite.
That is awesome

There's a small warehouse next to me and they have started using it as a recording studio, there are bands playing most evenings and usually all weekend. With the good weather they are leaving the windows open, so if I leave mine open it's like I'm at a gig, nice to sit and chill with a beer and listen. Some of it is pretty awful of course, but most of it isn't bad, usually bluesy rock. Just waiting on the neighbours complaining and ruining it...
Anyone ever see Muse live?
I really like a lot of their songs, kind of like Radiohead and Annie Lennox and Elvis had a threesome baby. The problem, as I have recently learned, is that many their songs are used in twilight movies. This makes me concerned of the sorts I will encounter at the show, and I really do not want to be seen with Those People.
Very good live act, quite a while ago I saw them though, so no idea if Twilight fans attend. Still heresy to put them in the same sentence as Radiohead, you Yanks know nothing about music... :clown:
Didn't know about the Twilight connection, here's a view from the band.
I dont put them in the same category as anyone
But when I first heard them, the song made me think it was radio head
then i heard a song that sounded like annie lennox
then i heard a sog that sounded like elvis
but yes, I know nothing about music, have not bought an album in about 15 years. My playlist on PC is all Alice Cooper, Sabbath, Wesley Willis and Angelo Badlamenti. I know, I got problems
I was only joking, Radiohead fans hate them being compared to Muse, and vice versa, both sides can get a bit anal about it. Have you tried listening to some of the live performances on youtube? Not the same as being there of course, but it'll give you an idea. Just out of interest, what songs were they that reminded you of the three artists you mention?
I know you were kidding, but I wasn't, I have no music taste. In addition to no new CDs, I have had the same 4 discs in my car since I bought it in 2007: Nick Cave, Brian Eno, Matthew Sweet and The The. Listening to the same stuff over and over is far easier than picking new theme songs.
Blackout made me think if annie Lennox. Turned onto the song from the movie Southland Tales.
Then heard Meglamaniac and thought of Radiohead
Soldiers Poem totally sounds like Elvis.
Today just discovered Falling Down, and decided to maybe buy tickets when they hit the midwest usa. Problem is, their playlists are published for the tours, and so far most of the songs I am seeing and then listening to on Youtube are not my cup of tea, other than Exogenesis, but I am still surfing the playlist so give me time
Soldier's Poem (he does sound like Elvis at the start!) and Blackout probably aren't the best songs to give you an idea of Muse's entire body of work, and what a concert would be like. Invincible is another song a bit like those, if you haven't listened to it yet. Sounds like you would maybe enjoy their earlier stuff though, try looking through the playlist from Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry and listen to those, might even be able to get the full album on youtube.
Reading the setlist before a concert? I'd hate that, half the fun is wondering if they are going to play certain songs, and going nuts when they start to play a favourite that you weren't certain they were going to play.
Probably their most famous song, and freaking awesome! I could listen to the start over and over for weeks.

Actually, I feel like an idiot.
I noticed the tour dates on the page were all old dates, so found another "updated" link for 2012 tours, and still ended up back on the 2010 page. So yea, the pl;aylist I was looking at was from 2 yrs ago, which makes sense now since I didnt hink bands published their play list in advance.
Looks like no tours set for 2012. Bummer. I see some secret shows here and there that pop up, but no set tour. Oh well, was looking forward to going to a concert in 2012, meh
:laugh4:
Don't feel too bad, I think there is an album on the way pretty soon, I wouldn't be surprised if they toured again early next year, maybe even late this year.

Yes I know they did a briefer version in Seattle, but this is the full version.
