Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Real Racing 2 on the iPhone, great racing game, though I've found one racing event that is frustratingly difficult, the rest is a lot of fun.
Really nice graphics and steering by tilting the phone is a nice control method as well, never had a wheel for the PC.

I haven't played 2 but I loved the first one. That game is soooo scary! I could only play it in ten minute bursts, I got so anxious I had to stop for a rest...in the end I finished it and I felt like I'd been through sheer hell.
Can't wait to get 2!

Self-conciously so, that's part of the charm, it's silly and they know it. Even so, gameplay is as tight as a drum.

I played on Normal because I hadn't played a console shooter recently. I'm going to play through on Elite before KZ3 comes out though.

Yep it is on my list of things to play.

Go get your gun, loathed the first one and have no intention of ever playing the second.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Started played HAWX yesterday.
At first, without a joystick, I was utterly frustrated with the controls. I kept crashing and it was really quite frustrating.
Then I decided to bring out my joystick and now the game got a lot better. The game is a lot of fun once you get used to the controls/buy a joystick.
Combat is simple and straightforward, but at the same time, not easy. Dogfighting is tough and frantic as you search for targets and try to get a missile lock. The missions are varied, from bombing terrorist camps to escorting bombers to protect them from swarms of enemy fighters (a lot of fun, btw).
But a few points Id like to mention:
1) Bad save system. Missions can take a while, about 20-30 minutes depending on the mission. But the game doesnt let you save. Now I understand why that may have been done, but for god's sake, when we save, let us be able to quit the game and pick up later when we start the game up. As of now, saves during a mission only last for that mission. If your house comes under attack from zombies and you need to shut the game down halfway through a mission to fight them off, when you load up the game you start from space 1 of the mission. Annoying if you ask me.
2) Kinda arcadey. Not as arcadey as other flight sims Ive seen, but if you are looking for a LOMAC or other type of flight sim like that this is not the place. You wont be spending hours memorizing command sequences on how to lock onto a target and launch a missile. Nor will you have to learn how to take off and land. Which kinda disappoints me because taking off and landing in LOMAC is one of the funnest things in the game for me. Nothing like going through a 17-point procedure just to get your plane in flight condition.
But dont get me wrong, HAWX very fun, great missions and very good AI, IMO, but dont expect it to be the next-gen flight sim.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Umm....now that I got my SNES back from my friend, I have been playing MKII again.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Went back to playing Rainbow Six Vegas.
Its a lot of fun, and I learned some interesting new tactics...

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
I've had Demigod for awhile, but never really spent much time on it. Lately I've been doing alot of AI skirmishes and tournaments.... there's a pretty good game in there.:2thumbsup:

Almost finished Killzone 3, then I might move on to Bayonetta, or God of War 1 (HD remake).

It had a lot of trouble when they released it, but after they patched it was a decent game. It was always very nice visually. I still fire it up occassionally for a quick tourney.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
I'm playing Pokémon White; already played the game in Japanese, but I got stuck after the seventh badge due to the language barrier... I can speak very little Japanese and read even less!
I have to say, it's nice to play through properly without mashing the 'A' button one million times a minute or checking Bulbapedia everytime one of my team would learn a new move. :D

Deus Ex. It's been at least a year since my last playthrough.

It was, but only PS2 quality. The game redone looks really nice, but they didn't redo the cut-scenes for some reason, which look terrible.
Dragon Age 2 for me today.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Done with Enslaved, very good game, great sense of wonder. While not as good, WAY too unpolished for a console game, it comes close to the charm of Beyond Good and Evil (which has been released in HD on PSN and live, get it NOW and fall in love with Jade you can't help it she's soooooooo adorable). Enslaved is just great escapism, sadly, like Beyond Good and Evil, very few people will indulge. What is wrong with ya, if you don't buy games like this they will stop making them, and we will all be missing out. Fans of Beyond Good and Evil should get it right now, not yet-fans should get both and join us

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
I stopped playing DA2 because it was too samey and uninteresting. I went back to playing Empire: Total Waaagh and Mass Effect 2 (mostly to gear up for the final DLC on the 29th). Thinking about picking up Shogun 2: Total Rehash once my tax refund comes in.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Still got to complete Arkham Asylum but Bulletstorm is proving a worthy distraction. A great FPS romp although the lack of any real multiplayer puzzles me in the modern world of first person shooters.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
I downloaded Minecraft out of curiosity. Eight hours later I realized it was morning and I was still working on my epic tower. I now have a new addiction.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Making maps and then messing around on them in Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity. Still lots of fun, can't wait for the next expansion. Even after diplomacy made the AI tougher it's still incredibly easy to sit behind a wall and turtle indefinitely. Looking forward to the "super capital" ship addition, which will hopefully make that much harder to do. ~D
After 4-ish years I think Team Fortress 2 is finally, without a shadow of a doubt, broken. Far too many premium items make the game an exercise in frustration. I shouldn't need to invest real money in digital items just to have fun again. Every time I attempt to play it I end up in a worse mood than I started, so it's off the HD for good this time.
Still haven't bought Shogun 2 but heavily considering it thanks to the news from the Tea House. Doesn't look perfect, but it still seems fun out of box which is more than I could say for Empire. In the meantime I think I will...

DAMNIT. Another DLC... great. Guess that means I need to do another play-through. :laugh4:

When they started out with the unlockables I said on here somewhere that they were ruining the game and I've long since stopped playing. TF was about all players having access to the same, limited set of gear- it was what you did with it that set you apart. Anyone could pick it up and play on the same field as everyone else. It's a shame, I really enjoyed TF2 initially.

I'll be honest in saying that at first I really didn't see the problem with the items. Most tended to change how a class played rather than giving unbalanced advantages. But somewhere around the Sniper update that really changed for the worst.. and now it's absolutely out of control. Did you see the Shogun 2 tie-in items? The katana for demoman and soldier? Get a kill and you get FULL LIFE. No - not a small health boost. Not a gradual incrementation. Automatic full health, as if you ran over the largest med-kit...
I tried to go in game a week or so ago and I just couldn't do anything. Heavies with 20% damage boost, spies with instant kill-to-disguise kits.. it's.. dumb now. No, i don't know how else to put it. It's dumb. ~:(

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Playing Shogun 2. Struggling mightily just to carve out a small 4-5 province "empire". And loving it.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
@Xiahou, Monk re TF2
I'd still be playing TF2 if they hadn't nerfed Natascha. :(

Same here though not quite that bad, almost though.

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Oh, the joys of Minecraft.
Me and some friends are using a private server and making a kingdom out of it.
Were planning on making Hyrule castle, and my friend made Titan Tower from the Teen Titans.
Other than that, playing Pokemon white, and absolutely wrecking with the Commando in COD: Black Ops.
Rolling Thunder is an epic killstreak, even though blackbird nets you more kills in the long run.

Be a man like me, use the M16, Dragunov, or FAL. And get constant Chopper Gunners/Attack Dogs. Then you can brag.

Or, you can test your full courage and play a REAL game!

Re: The "What are you playing?" topic.
Quick question for anyone currently reading this! (also, why does this thread keep dying!?)
What's the game you're spending the most time on right now, why, and where can I buy it? Aside from the amazing Shogun 2 i'm in a real drought for games that I thoroughly enjoy. Bioware titles are usually my "go-to", but i'm not really feeling those right now. They dont have to be new games, i just need to be able to locate them for aquisition.
Let's see if we can revive this thread (again).
