A great game that I couldn't stay awake long enough to watch. Old man disease strikes again! :shame:
Nice to see Belichick blow it, and diss his defensive players too.

I respect the heck out of Belichick but IMHO that call comes down to one thing; he wanted to be able to say 'I won that game with coaching.' And it was an okay risk in my book, look at the Colt's previous drive and ask yourself if you really think the Pats D had gotten better in the minute or so their offense held the ball.
The real blown call, however, was wasting the last time out to call that play. Those dinky little passes to Faulk were working all night, his hands were solid, and he looked like he had that first down... but they couldn't challenge it. If you've been calling it all night and it's working, just call it and let it roll.
I dunno though, they called passes instead of working the clock there at the end of the 4th as well.
Football really is a game of inches. Spectacular game. It's a great time to be a fan of football.

Looks like the bengals might sign Larry Johnson :beam:

Packers are going to make a comeback just everyone wait. first the cowboys, then the world.
Heads-up to all, there's another Thursday game tomorrow, so your picks need to be in early.
Carolina keeps screwing up my picks...along with jax and dallas.
Remarkable amount of consensus this week.
Eh. I knew the game tonight was going to be a toss-up -- one of many this week.
Games that I can easily see going either way:
Colts-Ravens
Browns-Lions
49ers-Packers
Falcons-Giants
Chargers-Broncos
Eagles-Bears
In all, I was forced to make uncomfortable choices in fully 7 of this weekend's 16 games (including the Miami-Carolina contest). I just don't like any of these at all. :sweatdrop:
I'd noticed this as well. Tonight's Dolphins-Panthers game is about the only one where there was any real split on the picks. Just about every other match-up this weekend is either unanimous or has only 1-2 dissenters/daredevils.
Please tell me that this is real. :laugh4:
Gradgowski is a lot better than russel. The turnovers and missed field goal is what killed us today though.
The entire AFC north lost today :laugh4:
The announcers were the worst I've had this year (Kevin Harlan and Solomon Wilcots).
Short week again remember.
Chris johnson is a beast, and the best back in the nfl imo.
Today is Detroit's last real chance at an upset win this season. Looks like wunderkind Stafford is out as QB, so oldman-Dante has to avoid getting intercepted, and has to march downfield with short-ish passes and 5-yard runs.
If the Detroit D can sack Rogers a few times, that might slow GB's momentum.
If all the above happens, the Lion's have a chance. Vegas doesn't think so, holding to a 13-point win for the Packers.
I like both teams, generally, but have to go with my original homeboys: Detroit. Hey, ya can't brag in a couple years, if ya didn't support 'em in the bad times. :)
Oaklands comin' out strong, which is a real surprise. Still think the cowboys got it.
Man, I almost felt bad for Houston there today... once more, an epic collapse.
Martok is making his move this week, good job! :2thumbsup:
I hate jacksonville, houston, and carolina :laugh4:
-edit-
But I love tennessee :beam:
Is it me or does it smell like 10-1 in here?
Brady quinn was the browns 2nd leading receiver for the day.

Ravens v Steelers game was great. Steelers are really hurting without ben and polomalu though.
Oddly enough I haven't seen any criticism of harbaugh for going for it on 4th and 5 :laugh4:
I'm so excited the niners actually managed to pull off a win on Sunday. Finally broke that losing streak!!:2thumbsup:
Reminder: Picks have be made in the next ~18 hours. Don't forget!
By the by, what the heck is with all these Thursday night games lately? I always thought the only Thursday match-ups were on Thanksgiving. :inquisitive: Is it a new thing, or has this been going on for several seasons now and I'm just now noticing?
Thanks, Sasaki. I suspected as much, although not the reason for it. Personally, I find it bloody annoying, but that's probably because I'm just a stick-in-the-mud. :wall:
On a lighter note, I must admit amusement that in our pool, the four top scorers so far (including myself) all picked the loser in tonight's Bills-Jets match-up. Yes, the universe truly loves irony.... :laugh4:
Raiders are gonna beat the Steelers. :dizzy2: Who'da thunk?
Steelers lose :beam: patriots lose :beam:
The browns beating the chargers would complete the trifecta. The Cin-SD game will be big for us.
Is it just me or is the fox coverage a lot worse than the CBS coverage?
Was hoping the titans would win. I saw the ticker (chris johnson 113 yards) and thought, wow, he had a bad game :laugh4:
My Viqueens lost to the spastic Cards?!! Oh the shame, the ignominy.... :wall: :shame:
Yes, the vikings really aren't as good as their record suggests. They beat a bunch of bad teams, baltimore and the 49ers were the best that they played and they barely won those. Injuries have also hampered them.
I hope we can beat them next week...but I'm much more worried about the chargers game, since we'll be playing for the #2 seed and I don't know if we can cover gates. Sproles could do really well against us too.
Of course, it would have been nice to realize this before picking them to beat arizona...
