As for the other issue, while I appreciate that what you say is true, this information is very difficult to collect and present on the cards given the number of cards that need to be done (and are likely to change in the next release(s)). However, for the time being, the information on the cards, while perhaps misleading, is not actually wrong. A player can easily see what government can be built in a province, and once the recruitment maps are up, can crossreference this information with the map and thus immediately see whether a unit would be available or not.
If you somehow manage (cheat) to get a gov type 1 in one of those provinces, you will see the units in your factional MIC. Even better, if you capture a level 5 MIC and don't raze it (I don't consider this cheating), the units are there. So in a sense the cards are not wrong on this point.
Sorry it took a while for me to reply to this query but basically there are 2 issues here.
1) There are some units, like the Uachtarach, that cannot be recruited by any faction under any circumstance. This IS clearly a bug and will be fixed in future releases.
2) Other units, like the Brihentin, can be always recruited by some factions (like the Aedui and Arverni) but only by other factions (i.e. Casse) if they somehow manage to capture a tier 5 MIC from the former owners. This is NOT a bug, but rather a feature. Think of it as the Casse not being able to work out what a Brihentin is on their own but if they capture a province with Brihentin-capable barracks they say: "Cool, lets have these guys!" or something like that.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Thanks so much for your time and effort (most impressed).
3 quick observations I have are (romani army);
- the Praetorian Cohorts have no charge bonus,
- the archers have the same armour (A=10) as the Praetorian; surely the archers weren't that well armoured, and
- the Imperial Cohorts have 'Arm 12' yet the Praetorians have 'Arm 10' but make up for it with 'skill 12' (wouldn't it have been more accurate to have had the same armour, with just +1 skill difference for the Praetorians?).
Thanks,
Andrew

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Don't *know* too much about Romans, but:
1) Didn't Imperial cohorts have better armour than the Augustan cohorts?
2) Aren't Praetorians basically the loyal & experienced Augustan Legionaries?
3) The Syrian archers you mean (don't you?): aren't they basically the same as Toxotai Syriakoi - wearing high quality scale armour, again better stuff than the legions?
-
Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Syrian archers look to be wearing mail in their roman getup, a larger shirt of it than the legionaries too.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use

I am working on them, but I am also very busy with real life issues at the moment. They (and others) should be up by the end of the week though.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Hi guys, I was just browsing through these and I noticed that the western greek Successor Medium Cavalry (Prodromoi) have a useless secondary weapon. The lance is better (according to what is on the card in ALL cases).
the kill probability for the lance is some_constant_that_depends_on_enemy_defence*.4*1.1^(3)= 0.5324*the_constant
for the sword, the kill probability is the_constant*0.1*1.1^(9)= 0.236*the_constant.
In other words, the lance is more than twice as deadly as the sword even without the charge bonus and the only situation one might be interested in using the sword would be if your objective was not to kill the enemy but rather to knock him down. At this, the sword excels, but personally, I would rather my enemies not get up again when I knock them down...maybe thats just me though :)
The formula above are documented by Puzz 3D among others.
The cards are beautiful though, and I love that you include hidden variable that aren't on the generic unit cards. I wish we could do that for Fourth Age. Balancing units so the stats on the generic unit card represent the unit accurately takes away from our options considerably.
Good luck with your mod.

Getai have also been updated ...

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
And here are all the steppe units:

The 'N' refers to Nomadic MICs (Camps) and the 'P' to Pastoral MICs (Settlements) . Units with orange dots are noble cavalry from the Elite Herds (Hers and Courts) and can be recruited under both nomadism or pastoralism.
Check this image for a more detailed explanation of what the different MICs mean:

Hey. You say you have Nomadic cards all set up but, you're lacking Saka Catraphacts and armored hoplites... Great work tough.

The Saka Cataphracts are the general's unit and as such are not included (yet).
The armored hoplites are a regional-only unit. All regional-only units will be done last. This is mainly because I can identify them by a process of elimination once all the factional units are done.

AW: Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Excellent work on this.
I´m waiting for the full set of roman cards.
when will they arive?

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Here comes the real treat ... the first set of the new card backgrounds with recruitment maps included. The areas in green represent the areas where every faction whose symbol is listed can recruit the unit, areas in red represent regions where only some (usually only those for whom the unit is a factional unit, but it does vary a little) can recruit the units.
Enjoy!

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Fantastic, as ever:2thumbsup:. I didn't know that Phalangitai Deuoteroi are so widespread. Perhaps now I'm going to start a game as Macedon:idea2:
Edit: Oh, well, could you please make a recruitment card of the Pezhetairoi Hysteroi? Because I still have 2 "wishes" ;-) As far as I've seen in the EDB, they are recruitibla in ca. 27 provinces and I would like to know which these are...

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Only one word can describe your effort:EXCELLENT
And it is only getting better with your recruitment cards:2thumbsup:
Thank you.
Keep up the good work

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use
Just a little warning. This are only recruitment regions. You still need proper MIC Level = Government to get them.
So if map shows that You can potentially get a unit in province X but this unit requires MIC Level 5 and You cant set up Homeland government in this province You wont get this unit ( unless You share MIC with other faction and it happens that AI build proper MIC level earlier ). :dizzy2:
Yea its quite complicated.

Re: Trading card style unit cards for offline use

He wrote it in the Text. They are regions where only some factions can recruit those units, mainly those who have them as a factional unit.
