I've got time to fight that sally tonight, if Peter's around to concur and the sally itself is okay.
:egypt:
Gibson is down as being on reserve duty, so I think you can go ahead with the sally as long as you don't get him killed.Quote:

I have not topped up the AI money this turn, so if Factionheir wants to use his vodoo to fine tune their balances, it would be appreciated. Otherwise, I will lob brown paper bags with 40k in at them until it seems about right.
I will be out of touch for the next 24 hours, but that will give time for people to look at the situation and post any instructions for when I get back.
I'm probably going to move Peter out of the way before I fight. Taking the save. This will be ugly for that silver bar army. ;)

Battle Report is up.

Alright. Will do once OK returns the save.Quote:

I want to wipe them out!
Anyway, I don't want to do something excessively 'gamey' in a turn when I already used a sally, albeit crudely on my part, to break a superior force, but neither do I want to be trapped pointlessly at Hamburg.

Picking up the latest save for Vienna region.
Hey, Northnovas and others, I think claiming and putting up a new save is now handled in the Reports and Order thread.
I just don't want someone else claiming it while it's out.
Okay, returning it wear it belongs. That was the toughest field battle I have fought in this game. It was worse then fighting a siege battle. They just came at me and the spearmen neutralized the cavalry punch I was waiting for. It says clear victory but it did not feel like one.Quote:

The battle report for my failure at Hamburg is up now, if anyone is curious. I'm thinking I may put together a story around Fritz's take on the events of 1344 later.
:egypt:
Let me clarify - when it says I'm on reserve duty, it means I have unpredictable availability to fight battles. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't. I probably can today if one comes up, but not 'til later because my mom is working on the computer.
We need a Necessary and Proper Clause for the Charter.
Then just propose it in the Diet. I'm trying to get an emergency session going so you can put it in there. :beam:Quote:

Well, since Karl is kicking the bucket soon, the "3 avatars" rule will be moot.
Also, I forget but did we agree to relax the "army composition" rule when we agreed to feudal levies? :book:
Or was that just for the cataclysm?
Cataclysm only.
Still, another avatar will hardly count as your levy :tongue2:
Northnovas: I don't think it will be counted too heavily against you, afterall, Elberhard's army is hardly within composition rules in terms of knights
This game has grown so much that the simple things from the start are forgotten and yet not all the bases are covered for for other matters like who is in charge.. when??
Remember that rules are pretty much only applicable to the extent that the Diet chooses to enforce them. Unless someone wants to take on the 3 generals in a stack issue in the Diet, it's a moot point.
To be fair though, the composition rule is an OOC thing as there is no IC reason to really back it up. Its like someone commanding an all knightcav stack. Why would the diet choose to object if there was no lack of funds and everyone had a decent army?Quote:

In fact, I just led 3 avatars in a battle myself, though I can 'legalese' my way out of it by saying that they were split between two armies at the start of the battle. These are not the Ten Commandments. We wrote them ourselves and they are bound to be flawed. Bending the rules here and there is a good thing if it keeps the game flowing nicely.
Of course it is out of question that he wanted to exploit the rules.
Nevertheless, I think its good to discuss how stringent we should be keeping to them and when it would be permissible to bend them.
I'm thinking that there will come a time that I will also need to bend them in the near future: I noticed you created almost a full stack of fully upgraded triple silver lancers (read: a stack with lancers only) near Dijon. That one should be hell to beat.
Would you believe me if I said I did not think of that? :embarassed:Quote:

I'm sure we can find half a dozen other violations of the rule due to the mess that was left after the Cataclysm. Let's do our best to ignore them for now and simply work towards turning them into compliant armies when reinforcements are allocated. It would be absurd to force Elberhard to fight with half his army under the circumstances.
PK: Is Essen some Pro-People Power activist? Because he sure seems like one
TC: Very agreeable.
I finally got the assault of Antioch up. Those enemy Vardaratoi were triple silver chevron, had stats higher than my bodyguard, and outnumbered them 2:1. :sweatdrop: Thank goodness for armoured spearmen, though! :beam:

Hey guys, does anyone know if you can get dread points for sacking a city with the KOTR fix mod? I knew in vanilla, if enough people were killed in the sacking (generally a few thousand) you could get them.
Basically, I'm trying to see if raiding Byzantine cities is the kind of thing a chivalrous avatar like Andreas could particiapte in.
I recall FH saying that sacking doesn't count either way.
Obviously, occupying still increases chiv and exterminating dread, but that's it.
