what time the game starts? 272BC?
it's now 255? +-
In 17 years we've taken sicily (or almost) and the whole adriatic...
In my SP games, I usually have only Italy until like 240-220 BC lol

technically its not 17 years.
we already had Italy from years ago. before the games starting age. And sure it i will be like 5 or 7 years earlier but when th 1st punic is over, we should actually HAVE sicilia, sardin, and corisca.
also, very well done everyone handling those armies.
wow well that just pisses me off, in my Saka campaign which i control pretty much the whole eastern half of the map, its 45 BC okay, and i just fought this battle in which the Sweboz leader and heir died
and boom CTD a turn later, and now its always crashes. So i have to restart from an old save where i haven yet reached sweboz territory.
wow, that's hard. I've never got around to playing any nomad factions though, I love using horse archers, but have no idea how the nomad building trees work.
Nomads are hard to get used to after playing Rome, but it is a blast to annihilate heavy infantry with HA's. The Infantry don't stand a chance.:smg::surrender2::hmg:
just something I remembered from a few pages ago (which is just a few days ago):
I don't really understand what you mean by the career part. isn't the rank of dux removed in the new format? unless it's modified by you but I don't know it yet because you haven't updated any details on the FAQ.
dux is not removed, nor is aedile. All those ranks are just replacing the old one and they way you go about getting them as well.
okay navarro go ahead and move my character, i put it in my SOT post too. sorry can't stay. k thanks bye
okay ill move him 4 you, ill have blasio head down into sicilia as well.
what's with blasio going down to Sicilia? :juggle2:
well if there ever comes a time where Potocello cant make a battle, ill be there to remove him so he does not get killed and fight it myself. Like the Asina incident, ill never trust the AI now
Hey, wait a second - before the campaign start date Rome only had half of Italy. What a shocking distortment of the facts!
PS - I'm still here.
I would, actually. I like it nice and slooooowrhghhg....
Remember that Rome back then did not want to conquer people just for land or resources, they were usually responding to a perceived threat. So right now is a great time for lull in the fighting. We should develop our characters more meanwhile, and sow the seeds of future civil war and rebellion.
well that i agree with, like i said, blasio will be proposing peace with epeiros, and once you have taken carthage in phase 3 of the punic war is over, and our surrender conditions are forced on them, indeed id like to see a financial and character build up before any war is made. I hope to include new MICs for all settlements, a revision of all our legios like mini's reform shows they should be, establishing of our provinces for provincial governors and quaestors, Italian Regional govs setup in the whole of Italia, plus new structures that make our cities boost income. Also, more friendly relations with ALL the world; i want to get a diplomat going in every directions to get trade rights and map info. Think about the money we make from THAT. Egypts stuff coming our way, the guals, sweboz, all the eastern factions, and maybe a few of the nomads. I look forward to it:yes:
Uhhm, would it be too much to ask you to do it for me? :sweatdrop:
I'm not lazy or anything, I just want to keep the game moving along.
ya sure thing, i take care of it. I have to console it anyway.
nice proposals bean, but I don't like the protectorate thing; since the features gives us all the money that the Epirotes earn; and not forgetting that there's the money script which does add_money and gives it to the AI; so we might end up earning large amounts of money at random intervals.
unless that's the point of the protectorate.
I am stuffing the faults with the game; my proposals are to do with what I would expect to happen. It is right that the victor triumphs utterly, even in the case of money. He wouldn't want his enemies to get enough money to be able to fight back a couple of years later.
I'd say nay to most stuff
What we want to do, is to ensure a status quo in Greece.
Make sure that Epirote is too big for Macedone/KH to be conquered, yet too small to be a threat to us/maks/KH.
Same way we have to make sure that KH/Maks remain roughly equal to eachother.
That way, they'll keep fighting eachother and worry about us.
That's what I'm going to propose later today, post-work :)
no, I agree with bean. Subjugate the enemy, make them protectorate. That's the Roman way :2thumbsup: They must not pay us too much money, but allow us military access to their territory and map information f.e.
Even as a protectorate, they would be strong enough to keep the status quo in Greece. Better worry for the KH, who get conquered by the Maks atm.
Its very easy to keep the KH and Maks under control-they do it themselves mostly. Mak is stronger but they fight in Asia Minor as well, which drains resources in Greece. And if either do capture a city, we can use spies to make it rebel back, and we can always intervene in the future if it gets out of hand.
Well, we'll just have to see what the council says then :)
right, that's what we have a council for, is it ^^
Grr! :inquisitive:Quote:
IV Members are requested to support each other in conflicts be they of words or of steel.
since the republic is not endangered, i can disagree as much as i want ;-)
If they cannot be 'epeiroteans' any longer, what do you want to call them?
They can't be romans, even the italians aren't romans :)
Where does it say the Republic has to be in trouble for you to support your family? That's not very stick togetherish.
I don't get why the hell you would think I'd want them to be called Romans...we're the Romans...why would we call them Romans?
Possibilities would be Thracians, Byzantians, Aiakidians etc.
I'm just saying that forbidding their names serves no end and gains nothing and it goes against quintus aemilius sense of honour to deprive a people of their right to call themselves what they want.
Which is why I am against.
As the House has nothing to gain by this measurement, I can disagree as much as I want ;-)
Same thing for the protectorate. As we do not control the regio's we cannot govern them and the House cannot make any money.
besides that, Romans were very reluctant to take over territories as provinces, let alone stand as 'protectorates'.
Which is why my opinion is: either we conquer them or we don't. Protectorates are useless. A client-king ruler type IV is as far as I go.
Although I agree a house should stick together in conflicts etc, a difference in opinions should certainly be allowed.
A house is a collection of fairly likeminded people, it's not attack of the clones with 2-3 peepz pulling the strings.
Should my disagreeing on your latest proposals means i transgress house rules, i'll be glad to leave the house.
I didn't sign up to be under the thumb of a privileged few ;-)
