I wonder why you didn't say Portuguese? :laugh4:

Adebayor has the height for the headers though. But I agree Arsenal need a strong and commanding centre back and I think they need a powerful striker too, they only have speed ones atm. Guiza from Fenerbache may be worth a look, though I'm not sure he is of sufficient quality to play for a top premier league team. There are plenty of good centre backs around they are just expensive and valuable to the clubs they play for.
We have always been sailors. Ronaldo is something more.
People say that if Ronaldo was German during the WW2, the Germans would have won the war. After he would be the perfect submarine captain with his diving tactics. :P
Anyone playing Champions League Fantasy Football?

First place in my group and already qualified to the First Round! Bow to my superior football intelect and skill!
Sure! he's a true Conquistador! that's why he's the best player, not just a sailor...:laugh4:
I don't understand Gerrard's behavior...i thought british players didn't dive or play dirty at all...:inquisitive: :laugh4: ah! maybe Gerrard was drunk with some Oporto wine...:laugh4:... the real Portuguese connection...:laugh4::laugh4::laugh4:
He's line of thinking was probably: "If you can't beat them, join them" :laugh4:
Gerard may be a hypocrite, but I still think he has much better personality than Ronaldo. I positively hate his dirty tricks. Too bad such talent was given to a person with such a character. My favourites were always players who knew how to behave, both on and off the pitch, like Nedved, Zidane (if we discount Materazzi incident), Kaka and the like...
Don't get me wrong... i don't think ronaldo is a saint by any means, he dives with the best of them, i do think that reputation has stuck with him quite badly from his earlier man utd days, i think has diving has calmed down a bit, he waits until he can do a really good one or if we really need a goal win a dangerous free kick or penalty
Who's them? he was playing against Atlético and i can't rebember of diving situations from their players...at least in that match...:dizzy2:
Are you sure? do you know them? :idea2: i don't, so i can't tell about their personality...however Ferguson already said Ronaldo is the best professional he ever coached...but talking about "dirty tricks" and bad behavior, i read a news few days ago saying Ronaldo is always the most fouled player in every Utd match :inquisitive:. In order to stop him opponents are always fouling him, punching, elbowing, wild tackles and even intentional injuries. It's hilarious to see Ronaldo imidiately surrounded by 2/3 opponents when he touch the ball. I think Ronaldo's line of thinking is probably: "Against these dirty tricks if i play fast maybe they fouled me inside the box or close to it for a dangerous free kick..."
I love them all as all of them are/were amazing players! but following your line of thinking it comes to my mind that last season Nedved puts Figo out off business for several months with a wild tackle... regarding Zidane, well you already discount the Materazzi incident , about Materazzi, one of the best central defenders in the world but insulting opponents mothers?
What i'm trying to say is that Ronaldo is no more no less honest than any other player. Players are professionals and i'm sure they will always try to do the best for their teams, just look to Gerrard...he's already a case study...
Blimey, Jussi was world class today. They threw the kitchen sink at him but he never wavered. What a keeper!
Well done lad.
@Jolt
Do you happen to know how Stepanov plays in Porto? I pretty much haven't heard anything about him since he went to Portugal, and he was one of my favourite players back when he played in Vojvodina...
ready to change your mind again Rythmic? :clown:
You wanna try supporting Bolton mate, it's a thankless task but someones got to do it. :laugh4:
He arrived at Porto last year and early he made some excellent exhibitions in the pre-season, making many Porto fans point to him as a future beacon in the defence. Then when the real matches came, he made the most pathetic of mistakes in three straight games, and was blamed and criticized by the press, and booed by the fans. He gained a quick reputation as a failure. Hasn't played that much ever since, one game here and there, very rarely appears in the starting team. This year, Porto bought a young Portuguese Central Defender, Rolando, who while not being anything amazing as of yet, provides security in the defence together with Bruno Alves. He was already in the National Team pre-callup list (But wasn't actually called). After Rolando, Jesualdo Ferreira (EDIT: Porto's coach) seems to pick veteran also Portuguese Pedro Emanuel. Coming last is none other than Stepanov. Sad story.
Edit:
Diaby is only 22 himself. I don't think you can expect him to lead too much. Anyway, I thought it was a great game, plenty of chances for both teams, penalty appeals at both ends.Quote:
Diaby, played much better, but I didn't feel he had a real presence supporting the younger players around him. Something Toure would be able to do in the middle of the park.
Robbie Keane finally scored a league goal as well. Two, in fact.
WHO WANTS SOME
SERIOUS SPANKIN'
FOR THEIR FIERCE RIVAL ?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
We got some 4-1 o'er here !
Edit:
Fenerbahçe will get trampled by Porto, tbh.
Didn't Guiza score? Shame :(
Does he score ?
He was the top goalscorer in La Liga last season, so yeah he does. He scored for Spain in the Euros as well. I heard he isn't happy in Turkey though, so that may be why he isn't scoring for you as much as he could.
edit: is that Senturk in the second pick btw?
Edit:
Edit:
What's all this about Liverpool being repossessed or having to sell off star players to cover their debt? I hope it's true.
Ohh me too!! that would help shutup my liverpool fan friend...
EF, I know he was the top scorer in Primera Liga last season, that post of mine was a thick pun.
Lugano scored in that match, yes. Roberto Carlos fired a 35 meterer, De Sanctis couldn't hold the ball down so Lugano headed the ricochetted ball into the back of the net.
Sorry ?Quote:

Thought I recognised him from the Euros...or is this another "thick pun" :laugh4:
"What is a 'second pick' supposed to mean", I mean.
