i intend to remain civil, only the caliphate wants us to 'feel his wrath' should i be scared?
If you attack the Ayyubids then You will feel our wrath... and trust me, you should be scared then!
This thing between you and the Oman.. this is not our business and we will not interfere..
The Roman dignitary chimes in;
Those who would start a war between the Western Coalition and the Golden Crescent alliance are traitors to the principles this union was founded upon.
Turning to the Makurian delegate,
Tell your Makurian King that none... in fact, NONE, have spoken in defense of your freedom more vigorously than the Romans. Our alliance has stood as one and declared that the Golden ones will not trespass, will not engage, will not destroy, and will not enslave your people. The Caliph himself has personally assured me that the Golden Crescent alliance will not support Oman if they should attack you, and he has even stated that the Western Coalition may intervene on your behalf, a most GENEROUS position.
That being said, if you begin a war against the Ayyubids or escalate the conflict with Oman, you will be endangering the Western Coalition and the security and independence of its constituent nations.
You will stand down and silence your harsh tone, and this will prove your loyalty to the allies who have already risked much to defend you. I am sure this favor will not be too much of an imposition.
If Oman invades you, and you have done as your allies request, there will be no end to the assistance we will provide you. If you do not listen to your friends, however, I am afraid I can only speak on behalf of the Romans and declare that the Roman-Makurian alliance will end.
This is not intended as a threat, merely a request from your greatest friend.
Turning towards the Ayyubids
Believe it or not, the Western Coalition could use your assistance on this matter. Would you consent to a temporary alliance if Oman invades Makuria? Please contact the Roman delegation in private to discuss the details.
The Great Imam would nod slowly to the wise Roman's words.
With that said, We will futher Talk about the two settlements... And if the Trade Empire attacks, It is due that the Marukian Kingdom has made a very threatning military move or provoke in a military way against The Trade Empire or Its allies, and the Marukian's Increasing Military numbers is only making the Omani's Empire worry more about a possible invasion launched by the Marukian Kingdom..
roman friend, im aware of you and the western coalilations support of me, and thank you, i do not intend to attack the Omani either, but the Omans insist on war if we dont give them our trading island, as i previously said, i will only retaliate to an attack, and not before....as for the ayyabids...well
the makurian breaths in deeply and avoids eye contact with anyone
i guess we shall remain civil with them, though i hope they understand why we refused trade with them, as long as they leave our peoples in peace, we shall consider doing the same...
The Roman responds;
Makuria,
We acknowledge your right to trade with whomever you want, and maintain a state-controlled and closed economy if you so choose. I would prefer openness and friendliness between neighbors, but my desires have no bearing on this meeting.
Peace in these lands depends on the resolution of this posturing and threatening between neighbors. Oman, the Makurians now have a right to the lands they occupy, just as you have a right to lands you now occupy. You have several options; trade to get their lands, be satisfied with your current borders, or take these lands in open warfare.
Remember, for the first option, Makuria would need very generous compensation, and for the last, you will need devastatingly overwhelming force to push back the forces of the entire Western coalition, and perhaps even your former allies.
Aggression will not be tolerated.
The Great Imam Sighs.
I do not understand these people... Their priorities are scrambled, Either they are starving their own people the ability to experience any new culture, goods, foods, ect... Also with this their motives are unknown... We do not know what they are planning, just watching their military grow. They Mobilize their armies in unknown desires... I would agree with the Roman Diplomat and have you open up to the Neighbors. Until then the Marukian Kingdom's threat level is High until we can find out what they are currently doing, their plans, and ofcourse the very basic in a healthy relation between nations which is trade ofcourse, I will be informing the Marukians that our Military and Naval forces will be present, In case if our thoughts are right about them, And makes an agressive move against the Ayyubid Empire or the Great Trade Empire... I hope the Marukians can understand OUR stance, and maybe agree on this, if not... How can we be peaceful when there is a real, possible threat..?
ahem...we do not want trade with certain nations as we no what you want trade in, slaves which is one thing we wont give anymore of! our peoples however will trade with many others, denying one dangerous neighbour of trade does not deny the rest of the world!
also, our armies have increased to strength our borders from attack, you assume omani, that were to attack? when the ayyabids and your own good nation are building militaries even vaster than our own? we are mearly building up as our neighbours our, as we dont want to be the blunt of an attack were not ready for, your suspicsion of our large armies is none of your business to be honest, and we dont plan to attack with them as of yet, so calm yourself before you have a heart attack...
we have not made any futher movements or shown any sign of planning an attack on your peoples, never have we steped outside of the africian area, and we plan to stay there, i hardly think our nation can be accused of forcing our place somewhere we dont belong, if that was the case then you'd be talking to the kingdom of jerusalem, they took lands that werent theres before, just as we've taken suaqtra, but we have earned these lands, any arugment over what people own is not just over me, as almost every nation is guilty of keeping land they havent orginally owned, so please give the africian threat theme a break will you
Quttub the Ayyubid emissary stands to respond to the Makurian's words. He appears to have an eye condition - his left eye is swollen, half-closed and weeping sticky goo onto his cheek, which he wipes away with a intricately embroidered sleeve every few seconds. It looks highly uncomfortable.
I can assure the Makurian ambassador that the Great Salahuddin has no interest at all in the under-developed and impoverished lands of his African neighbour.
Indeed, is it not more probable that the Makurians look on with envious eyes at the rich and fecund lands of Egypt?
If the Makurian king wishes peace with the Sultanate he shall have it - the current borders are recognised by the Sultan and his armies, and will not be violated.
Let me also put a stop to these damaging rumours of Ayyubid military buildup - the Sultan's armies are stable and further recruitment is not required. They are positioned in defensive entrenchments at certain key strategic points as is necessary for the effective defense of the realm - and they pose no threat to any of the Sultan's neighbours.
Once more, and I hope for the last time - Salahuddin has attempted to forge a peace with all of his neighbours.
It is sad indeed that the Kingdom of Jerusalem and the Makurian Kingdom rejected his offer of alliance and trade, and in the circumstances it is quite absurd to suggest that it is war that he wants!
Rome would be happy to trade with her former sattelite, Aegyptus.
It seems you have plenty of allies, but an offer of alliance was made by Rome towards the Ayyubid Sultanate in case of outside aggression.

Rome is a friend and brother to all nations, especially those who seek peace and do not want aggression.
the makurian addresses the ayyabid without respect with rude gestures and mannorisms...
if our lands were so worthless, then why do your peoples want trade with us? why do they crave the ivory, gold and dare i say it, slaves that only we have provided? our lands are far from worthless, unlike your opinion, trade with your faction would be a mistake, any goods we have must be exchanged with trustworthy factions, we dont trust you, and your calass and brash remarks arent helping either, any military you say is for defense is with the same principles as our own people, that you think we dont have the same motives is beyond us, and as for allaince? that was never offered! dont act like we declined an allaince that was never even placed to begin with, your desire for trade and less desire for peace was how are suspision for you began, i didnt come here for your insults, so from this moment on ward i suggest mindless bickering be put to a halt, every nation is free to act however they like, but it shouldnt mean making our convosations turn into the parlay of animals
OOC: the first thing I did in the game was offer an alliance to the KoJ. He declined, saying he had already offered an alliance to Makuria. I suggested a three-way alliance to both KoJ and Makurian players by pm, and received no response from either. Knowing that the Makurian player was absent, I even asked the KoJ player to let me know if he heard back from them on his offer of alliance. Nothing.
So, I concluded that KoJ and Makuria were planning to gang up on me, and forged alliances with other nations to protect myself.
Makuria refusing trade rights just seems to confirm this. Why wouldn't you want to trade with your neighbour, unless you are planning to attack them?

IC-
If Jerusalem has designs on the Ayyubids, I cannot promise that Rome will offer you our assistance. This alliance is defensive in nature, and the security of Rome surpasses all other concerns.
I renew my calls for a defensive alliance between the Romans and the Ayyubids, even if all it ever does is cool tensions in the West and allow for a de-escalation of our military posture between the two great alliances. Such a pact would make a unilateral attack on your nation by any Western Coalition nation unlikely to receive Coalition support. Or at the very least, Roman support.
The Roman sits and waits for a response.
Quttub rises again, his swollen eye presenting a monstrous appearance as it glows lamp red and oozes...
The Great Salahuddin is pleased to accept Rome's offer of a defensive alliance - may our two great states never wield cold steel against each other!
A diplomat will be dispatched to offer trade rights and an exchange of geographic knowledge at the first opportunity.
The more-polite-than-his-predecessor Roman ambassador notes Quttub's affliction and asks;
Would you care for a Roman doctor? I am aware that the science of medicine under Islamic government has taken great leaps forward, but there may yet be some western remedy for your condition, my wise old friend.
With the signing of an alliance between our peoples, I believe Rome, the Caliphate, and the Ayyubids have come together to ward off any possible potential conflict between our great alliances. Such is the way of peacemakers, the way of freedom-loving kings and sultans.
A messenger boy runs into the chamber with a scroll for Quttub, who reads it as best he can with his pustulent eye and raises to address the emissary of King Baldwin.
Our border guards north of Damascus inform us that Prince Guy and his entire army are encamped at the border between our lands - at the same time another army of the Latins camps menacingly on the border between Kerak and Aqaba!
Is this the way the chivalrous King Baldwin announces his war on Egypt? Or are we to believe that these forces are simply 'taking in the scenery'?
These soldiers of the West are lucky indeed that their lives were not taken from them as their aggressive actions would merit...but the Great Salahuddin believes enough in peace to spare them while their leader explains their presence..
So Latin messenger, what is your answer?
The Great Imam sighs and speaks.
Due to this dire situation between the Kingdom of Jerusalem with mobilizing very large armies to the borders of striking of Ayyubid Settlements, and the Marukians being unknown, but military growing. I will be calling an army from Arabia to help bolster the defensives of a possible attack on the Ayyubid Empire from it's more hostile neighbors. The Trade Empire now set to help the Ayyubids in any way, This being said, We are moving more Military forces and the Northern Royal Navy toward the Red Sea.
The Great Trade Empire now Pulls back any offers it offered toward the Empire of Marukia. Seeing that they are refusing any help from the outside world, I have made my intentions clear that I was more interested in Ivory, and would trade it for goods that would help the African People, but I am just to be honest... Sick of trying to try to improve relations between the Trade Empire and the Marukian Empire,
The Trade Empire will be also stationing Both of the Royal Navies on the coastline with improved line of sight. We will be taking even the more that one of the lightest boat a Hostile act. Seeing that the Marukian Empire has an island colony now, But should not need no more, than one of the smallest ship to do so. If the Marukian Empire fails to listen to this warning now, and makes a Military Provoke, His ships will be sunk by a pre-emptive strike to counter a possible invasion, and all of his ports will be blockaided for /2 turns/. ...This also can include that the small ship has no larger military cargo than /4 units/.
The Great Imam coughed alittle...
Dear Quttub.. The Latin Diplomat left on his own will... I am fearing that Greed has taken the King Baldwin's path...
you've truely gone mad quttab, talking to a person who isnt here!
we recieved no message of your offer of alliance egypt, your messages must have been lost somewhere down the line, Omani please shut up, this 'humble' imam of your nation has soon turned into a violent person threating his peaceful neighbours, yyou deny us armies when you have many yourselves? ive never heard such hippacritical jiberish, your 'trade empire' seems more like a barren expanse of desert to me, nothing attracts us to trade with you, however we did agree to trade at one point, which you have now soon reversed, showing the 'peaceful' imams want for war, our well, wont have to put up with you soon enough after your timely demise...
OOC:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The Great Imam would slam his fist on the table, breathing abit hard after the insults.
This is Because you and your Marukian Emprie are Unpredictible!, We are Warning you about this, And if you do not follow our rules of peace then you will be asking for War! You have done Nothing!, Just eat my grapes, drink my wine... and waste our Time with Idiotic Demands, Your military continues to grow as We have lowered our military numbers down to try to see peaceful resolutions!, But Disbanding our Full military would be obsurd due to the fact that an Invasion Threat still lingers in your Military Controlled Trade. The Trade Ended when you Decided to attack the Trade Posts that you decided that your empire needed more!, and now when the Omani's empire responds, you Quickly hide behind people from far away lands, and now raise more armies on your next Conquest Targets! The Omani's Empire will not sit Idlely and watch you build a navy, but a large army on it, and sail it in the Red Sea or the Indian Ocean! You WILL follow these rules of Peace, I would ask of you to please listen to your allies, and stop Intensifying the Situation, and control your nation AND yourself.
The Imam would sigh and go back to being somewhat quiet.
I have spoken on what the Trade Empire will do, What will you do Marukian? Agree to this, and Hopefully our people can get a better relation, or you will go against the Words of me, Build a navy... and provoke a war...?
The Choice is yours Marukian, I would Advice you of the first.
The Imam would turn back to Quttab.
The Marukian Empire has Also declined of a Very generous offer of a Defensive alliance, The Terms were. Marukia and Omani will be in a defensive alliance, All Navel Forces from the RedSea would be pulled back for the Omanis, leaving the Marukian Emprie free of any threat of the Empire of Omani, The Marukian Empire would give back the small formor outpost of the Trade Empire back, And the Trade Empire would give them a Lump sum of 10,000. Ofcourse they Declined us, Only asking of Military Units to give to them. But what would they be using all of that Military Power if they were offered by both, The Empire and Ayyubid, and the Trade Empire, a Defensive Alliance, or even trade rights...?
The Roman diplomat rises, looks at the insane Omani host, and snarls in disgust.
It seems the Omans have no use for enlightened banter. I have been ever so patient with Oman, and my patience has run out.
When this meeting is held by a man who is not a barbarian bent on world conquest, perhaps Rome will send a delegation. Until such time, Rome has no more use for talk.
The Roman diplomat exits
the makurian stands up and prods the omani hard on the chest
ive truely had enough of your lies oman! you pester us in private, to terms which we were coming to terms to! then you sya we denied you? same as the allaince, you twist my words again! and there is NO sign of your factions lowering your military!, no after your evil banter we decine any offer with you! final! we are in a state of war infidel!
the makurian also leaves, before hand spits on the omans foot and pushes him to the ground, the guards chase after the makurian...
(this is gooooooooooooooood :laugh4:)
Quttub rises. His eye seems to have improved somewhat, but he appears dizzy and unsteady on his feet.
Let a message be sent to the leaders of the West to record that the Makurian has declared war on Oman!
Exchanging harsh words, and even threats, is one thing, and hardly to be encouraged - but should the Makurians strike first the world can be in no doubt as to who is the aggressor.
I pray that this is merely hot air and he will not follow this up with an attack on our ally, for we should be obliged under the terms of our treaty with the Golden Crescent Confederacy to act in defence of Oman, despite our strong desire for peace with our African neighbours.
O unhappy day that brings such a calamity to these lands!
A small boy is sent scurrying from the hall to organise a swift rider to the lands of the western leaders.
(OOC: whom I hope are still lurking here, as I can't be bothered to pm everyone individually...)
The Marukian Diplomat after assaulting the Leader of the Omani's people physicly, would have only escaped through the doors, before being shot by two crossbow men stationed up above, and would be dragged and thrown into the port bay... ("The Sultan has killed men for lesser insults than that, Infidel!")
The Abbasid Emissary sighs and says quietly..
Barbarians!
Messanger enters the room and gives a small note to the Abbasid Emissary..
After reading it through he raise from his seat and says..
I got a message from the Caliph.
There are some things he want the rest of the world to know.
First of all, the name of the Caliphate shall be from now on 'The Caliphate of An-Nasir' to honor our Great Caliph who managed to make our state great once again.
Secondly, the citizens of Edessa have renamed their city into 'Nasirabad' to honor our Great Caliph.
Thirdly, many of our diplomats have proposed diplomatic offers to many nations.
Also.. our forces have destroyed some rebels near the Seljuks borders and one of our army is going to destroy rebel army near Georgian borders very soon.
We also sent a diplomat and offered the deal that was talked about a long time ago to the Turks. Again.
We don't know what happened do our last proposal but we will make it again.
If the Turks have refused our offer then we would like to know why...
We also would like to find a way to make peace between our nations..
Dear brothers from Egypt.. I suggest you to take back your declaration of war..
We do not want to go to war because of some stupid little war in Africa..
Quttub rises sharply to address the misunderstanding quickly before it gets out of hand.
Sirs, do not misunderstand us.
We have not declared war on Makuria.
We have simply pointed out that Makuria have declared war on Oman, and if they follow up this declaration with a military strike on our allies we would be obliged under the terms of our treaty with the Imamate to act in her defence.
Our treaty with Oman does not oblige us to join in wars which are started by Oman, and if Oman were to attack Makuria first we would remain neutral in that dispute.
I trust this is clear!
Egypt wants no war - and if any nation wishes to avoid war with Egypt they should refrain from attacking our neighbours and allies.
Abbasid emissary looks at Quttub..
We apologize for this little misunderstanding..
If the things are like you said then it makes things much clearer..
We hope that other nations who are not present in this Council know this and wouldn't start any military actions just because they misinterpreted your last statement just like we did..
If someone want to start war then they should first declare it here and not to do it secretly by blocking our ports or attacking our cities like robbers and barbarians do..
A newer younger, average looking, Diplomat comes in, after the Great Imam was escorted out after the assault by the Marukian Diplomat. He picks up the notes that was written down and starts to read them all... then looks up.
I can see that this meeting has been very interesting, The west loves to talk... but then what about the east.. The Ghorid empire, The Ghazis, the Hindus, the Seljuk turks, and the islamic nation above the Seljuk turks and Ghazi empire...? also hearing that there are more than one diplomatic stations now...? Well, If that is the sad case, There might be a third one opening up for the islamic Nations of the East...
He started to chuckle alittle, trying to make the situation more relaxed.
The Islamic nations of the east intend only peace, of course, and have an agreement amongst each other for mutual defense if necessary. The Sindh also wish to make it known that they take their treaty commiments quite seriously, and any nation which is at war with a member of the Confederacy will rapidly find themselves also at war with the Sindh.
May Allah have mercy on them after that day.
:egypt:
A messenger boy runs in and gives the Omani's Diplomat a scroll and runs out, the Diplomat would start to read it.
Due to the Current Situation of the current Neighbors, and the Great Imam's health, One of the Greatest Generals of the Trade Empire, One from the Royal Family of the Omanis lands. has forceibly taken all control from the Great Imam with Military Force. The new leader will be addressed by.... "Sultan Meuzz-adin Al-Yaarobi" He has just came from the eastern coast of Africa, To be more exact, Zanzibar. Bringing in new brigade of African soldiers, and newly African Slaves. and Aceh, the Far away spice islands, It is the first in the very Far East to convert to Islam, and now having soldiers from Aceh coming to be employed by the Trade Empire, so forth..... The Trade Empire will no longer be called the Trade Empire, or Omanis, Instead the name changed by the New Sultan is the "Coastal Arabian Empire".
He wishes to speak with the Ghorid Empire privately.
