Legio II has reached and besieged Dalminion from the north, and has found it's king, a supposed ally of Illyria, but in reality little more than a puppet ruler, has died, leaving no heir. Apparantly, according to our spy within Dalminion, the Epirites plan to completely subjigate the kingdom into it's growing empire. For the moment however, the garrison is a rabble mixture of Illyrians and Epirite infantry, split in a fued over the country. We will face little resistance from them.

EDIT: Actually, I'm not going to assault Dalminion. My scouts have spotted a sizeable but managable Epirite and Illyrian relief column, which I believe is heading for this city. We will ride out the winter, and hopefully face the enemy on the open battlefield in the spring; a far more favourable prospect.

The enemy is destroyed, the city taken, and the Epirite sympathises expelled from the city and surrounding lands. The city now requires a quick response garrison so that the Legio II can return to the field to actively defend the newly acquired province. It also needs to be decided in the senate the future of this Illyrian kingdom-client kingdom or immediate new province.
I also moved Legio III to besiege Epidamnos and started building three rams. The merchant ships were all captured or sunk.

Anyway, can't be helped now. Here's the new save regardless. What I did was to assault Segestica, and I won a clear victory. Battle report coming tomorrow.

Investigated report of Epirite forces. It is indeed true. I believe this is the Epirite army designed to take command of Dalminion after the recent death of the client king; but we got there first. Now it is about to pass through the mountains. Once done it will be in a position to go for either Dalminion itself, or strike the unprotected rear of Legio III. If it chooses the latter, the effects on the legion, and on the campaign, could be devastating. I have detailed one of my cohorts to remain in Dalminion to keep order while the main body of the Legio II marches in an attempt to block the enemy army's route. However, public order is not good. I require reinforcments immediately.
