A big fight broke out between woad&fangs, a man who claimed to be a “true” native briton, and another man who simply went by the decidedly ominous moniker of “The Pizzaguy”. The two duked it out for practically the entire time, both seeming to be convinced that the other's past behavior indicted them of being a guilty party. I found myself almost wishing that I still was 'endowed' with the hearing loss I'd previously suffered in my old age. For the most part, the rest of them were fairly content to watch the spectacle, only occasionally giving input. Slowly, but surely, people seemed to grow convinced of The Pizzaguy's guilt. That didn't cease the volume, however, right up until the point at which Jannette gave me a poke to indicate that time was up.
“Alright, alright, shut the chatter both of you. Just to clarify, hands up for The Pizzaguy?” A majority of the few remaining shot their hands up. “Well, step forward, The Pizzaguy.” Indeed he did step forward, right up to Jannette. He turned back to the crowd.
“Tomorrow you'll understand! When I am gone and you all see that it has done no-” The Pizzaguy's speech was cut short by Jannette, who cleaved him in half at the waist with a claymore.
“Well, he sure was a chatterbox, wasn't he? He makes me look like a... a... something really quiet! Well, have a good transience everyone!” she chirped while waving her hand and smiling. Despite the previous volume of speech he'd put forth during the debate, I had to admit I was quite curious what he was going to say. With that hanging over my head, I trudged my way back to my privacy quarters, hoping the group had made the right choice.

You could always drop the kill number down to one now, and pretend I was guilty. :wiseguy:

Re: The Trouble in Waiting [In Play]
You had to say that, but your entire argument yesterday was generated on the theory that it was the last day, that a mislynch of you would end it and that that's why woad jumped you like he did. That only makes sense if the mafia get two kills regardless if one is dead or not.

I know you're speaking purely for the "benefit" of the people reading the thread other than me, so I won't bother.
Big fat hint: Renata is guilty.

The failure isn't mine. I put out the effort. Can't blame me if others don't show up and vote correctly.

Which is partly what the mafia would rely on to begin with.

Why, it is woad and Renata! :bounce:

My apologies, but I'm going to extend this 12 hours. I feel terrible at the time due to a whacked sleep schedule, so I'll have things updated in the morning when I wake up.

It was all over, man. When they got back from transience, it was gonna be bad, he just knew it. He'd get back there and there'd be nobody there. He'd be all alone, again. If he even got back from transience.... And he was supposed to just stay in his quarters like a good boy and wait for the end to come. At least the bed was comfy. A faint pop echoed in the room. God Emperor twisted his neck to see someone walking up to him. “Alright, man, just make it quick, alright?” The intruder nodded solemnly, then plunged the knife into God Emperor's chest, leaving him to stew in his solitude for what time remained.
Landlubber's defenses had been ready for a few days now. He was chilling in the corner of his room, on a futon, pulling some kind of semi-floating maneuver over about six feet of water which he had flooded his room with. He set up a six foot tall slab of marble as a barricade in his doorway, then left his sink going until he had turned his room into a proper moat. Although quite wet and uncomfortable, he was safe. Surely an acceptable cost, in his mind. Sure enough, a pop signified an intruder, who materialized in the pool. The intruder let an angry growl out at the unpleasant introduction, but readied themselves and found the marble floor below with its feet. Immediately the intruder started a power swim at Landlubber, who attempted to scramble backwards, only to fall off his futon and plunge into the water. The intruder took a breath, then dove, under the surface. A quick stroke forward with a knife bearing right hand pinned a floundering landlubber to the wall. “Perhaps swimming lessons would have been wise,” Landlubber thought to himself as a knife curved across his face.
Wow. Yeah. Panic time. A whole five people came back from their quarters this time. I was pondering whether I could try and at least depose Jannette, even if in vain, as an act of defiance against this debacle. At least I would go out with some dignity.
“Silly John,” Jannette chirped. “I can hear you thinking. No worries, I'm sure you'll all get'em this time!” I scowled before turning to my remaining comrades.
“Well, I aint gonna lie, folks. It doesn't look good. But we've still got a chance! We can still end this! Now, let's get to it!"

What did I say? Askthepizzaguy was innocent. Two kills, five people left. That means this is our last chance to lynch mafia.
So I will gladly vote: woad&fangs.

If woad is Mafia, why are you still alive? Everyone else, plus the two dead people, voted for Pizza.

What does that have to do with anything?

Re: The Trouble in Waiting [In Play]
As there are two mafia remaining, a gentle reminder about the tactics of the situation:
with 2 mafia, any division among the town ranks is suicide. Therefore, once the decision is made, ALL PLAYERS must vote for the same person, to make room for a margin of error.
Example: 3 votes on one person, 2 on the other, but the mafia are divided. At the last minute they have the power to switch it to 4-1 in their favor. Or, 2-3 in their favor.
Everyone, everyone must vote for the same suspect.
Anyone who does not, is mafia.
Decide who is guilty. I already gave my opinion yesterday, and I'm done.

I'm in a horrible mood today, so forgive the tone if that comes through. The facts stand regardless. Let me go through it step by step.
As a huge part of his argument against woad yesterday, Pizza used the "fact" that the game would be over if woad got him "mislynched". This was supposed to be why woad jumped on him in the first place. Given the number of players alive at the time, this only makes sense if the mafia get two kills per night regardless of how many members they have. Pizza was in fact lynched, yet the game continued. When I called him on this, he said something along the lines of oh, well, there must be only one night kill if one mafia dies. (And I bet you'll try to frame me by only having one kill, hur-de-hur.) This is the opposite of what his earlier argument demanded. And in fact there were two kills last night. Pizza is probably mafia.
I'm still alive and woad is still alive. If woad were mafia, he almost certainly would have killed me last night to prove Pizza wrong about the "renata and woad" thing. We'll see what happens when he turns up today, but for now I'm operating on the assumption that woad is not mafia. Anyone but woad leaves us both alive.
That leaves you, Blackadder, and DiY. Blackadder didn't even bother to show up yesterday; he's not mafia. DiY voted for Pizzaguy. So did GodEmperor and landlubber. You didn't -- you voted for woad and were bound to do it again. You shouldn't be alive. You're the fly in the ointment, the one player whose survival makes no sense if woad is mafia. Your survival only makes sense if someone is trying to get votes on woad, or if you yourself are mafia (or both).
DiY's not mafia with Pizzaguy. Blackadder's not mafia either. I'm not, and I doubt woad is -- that leaves you.

Looking over the thread it appears to me that vote: woad&fangs. appears to be scum.

Re: The Trouble in Waiting [In Play]
Looks like we're all going to be stubborn so it is up to Death is Yonder. My final defense is that at two kills per night, the game would already be over if Renata and I were partners. One of the Mafia is already dead. If you really think I was allied with Pizza(who I voted to lynch), Beskar(who I voted to lynch), ArpeggiateTHIS(who I voted to lynch), or Romanic, feel free to vote for me. Just be prepared for a very big I told you so after the game.

Yeah go ahead and vote for civplayah.
I actually think from their behavior this round, it seems clear to me that I got it wrong, woad&fangs isn't mafia with civplayah, Renata is.
I say we vote for civplayah. Let's see if Renata changes her vote.

Re: The Trouble in Waiting [In Play]
The game wouldn't be over yet if 2 mafia were left,(2 mafia, 3 town), this would be the last phase to get one, and pull out a win. After this phase it will be over, if there are 2 kill tonight that would leave 3 players for the next lynch day phase. If 2 are mafia the mafia wins if only 1 mafia left the we will have 1 more chance to get the last mafia.
Why go after civplayah, Pizza, you have said all along that Renata was with woad, now she is with civplayah.? Why not just lynch Renata.

O_o?? And where are you getting this information from, or are you operating on the assumption that ATPG is the mafia?
Not sure if I follow the part where you say that at two kills per night, the game would already be over if Renata and you were partners.

People seem to be operating on the assumption that one mafia is dead despite two kills =nothing proven. Did I miss something?
Bolded section is interesting though. I agree with the reasoning behind it, indeed, with the last phase approaching (since the mafia might/will get two kills despite numbers), they would possess at least some foresight to remove a person who persistently voted for them. With 5 votes now, I agree with Renata that it is unlikely that the mafia would leave 1/3 of the votes required for their possible lynch alive, especially considering said person's persistent voting record, hence I'm more inclined to believe woad.

So civplayah, who do you think is the 2nd mafia then, since you seem convinced of ATPG's innocence. The tone in this post sounds vindictive even, are you going to attempt to lynch woad today and come up with a half-baked story about how therefore so and so must be guilty tomorrow?
I'll like an answer on that

Re: The Trouble in Waiting [In Play]
IMO 3-2 is a losing vote tally for the town. The mafia are likely spread and can switch at the last minute.
Need a more unanimous choice.
