thought my turn might be up already and wanted to ask for a slight extension but turned out that this actually is my turn. had been up since days. i did get no pm. its not even said that hungary is up. no words for that. im not in town rightnow and wont be back before tomorrow midday. so this will take even a bit longer. if i d gotten a pm i d done this days ago

Please make sure to pm the next person in line so they know it is their turn (this is part of the game rules), especially if you just edit a previous post with the save file so the thread doesn't get bumped.

By the way, we just adopted a rule in the SS game that I think I should propose here too seeing as we have a similar group of players and are allowing battles in this hotseat.

Here is the proposed rule, please vote on it, I'll go with the majority.

- It is not permitted to assault a settlement or fort under siege with an army entirely or mostly composed of cavalry if in the resulting battle the AI will sally from the settlement or fort. As a guide, the AI has been observed to sally in this situation when the strength ratio is more than 3:1 in its favour. If a player chooses to assault and then discovers the AI sallying in this way he must quit the battle and reload the save immediately before the assault, choosing instead to maintain the siege or withdraw his forces. This is the only circumstance in which reloading is permitted.

Ummm, maybe its just me, but I don't understand this rule

The idea is to stop people from taking well-defended settlements or forts with one or two units of cavalry.

If you assault a settlement or fort under siege with a couple of horsea and the battle is too heavily weighted in the AI's favour it will sally out and you can run it around until it is exhausted then rout it, taking the place and destroying whole armies with just a unit or two.

This happened in the other game and it was ruled an exploit.

The rule is an attempt to make it illegal by saying that if you assault and the AI sallies then you must quit the battle and reload, bringing more forces so that you have to have a proper siege battle to take the settlement or fort. When I tested it, it seemed like the AI would sally when the odds were 3:1 or more in its favour.

Does that make more sense? Sorry for the lack of explanation.
