Scotland's turn
I'm sorry but real life is taking over and its to hard to fit in this campaign so i would welcome Didz to take my place my password is 1.
I've sent Didz a PM to play Scotland
I did too, earlier.
McDidz stared intently at the maps and reports strewn about the council room table. "Empty the coffers McDuff" he growled "This time its them or us, and I'll noe want ta lose me kingdom fer want of spending a penny."
Scotland's turn completed....how and where do I upload the file for Russia?
Upload it here (make it a .zip or .rar)
Name will be the turn you downloaded + 1
[EDIT] Glad you could make it...
Sorry, for being thick, but I don't see any mechanism for triggering the upload, is there supposed to be a button or something?Quote:

At the bottom, there are fields you can upload things into.
Make sure that the turn you uploaded is the one after yours, i.e. press end turn and then save at the transition screen.
Ok! done that...but it didn't give me a link to post here. So, I've had to manufacture my own based upon the previous ones listed, hope it works.
This should be the link to the start of Russia's turn.

[EDIT] Ignoramus : would it be possible to edit your first post due to change of players ?
Maybe post a corrected FH table from page #4 for ease of reference

Oops! Sorry didn't realise we need to do that, (mind you I would have had trouble complying anyway as until your recent post I had no idea who was playing Russia)...in fact I have this thread subscribed so I get an email everytime someone makes a posting anyway.Quote:

Well, not your fault really and boats cost too and you've been paying their upkeep. Just keep em I guess but don't adopt anymore.

On checking anew, one is an adoptee, the other is a pre-existing General that has been MotH...
the latest save for Denmark is here: http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/pbm/MPC1086-7.sav
and Didz remember to end the turn next time, I had to do it for you but don't worry I didn't look at anything
@France
From experience of other PBEM's (mostly Battleground Napoleonic) trying to apply voluntary rules to the game causes more trouble than it does enhance play. I'm afraid if the programme allows it then sooner or later it will happen. Best just to accept the vanilla version of the game with all its flaws.
@Bob_the_great
Hmm! I'm somewhat confused. I definately, did end my turn. In fact just to check that the save had worked correctly I loaded to saved game file and made sure that the Russian password screen appeared. So, if you somehow managed to gain access to my maps and units then I suspect this is a flaw in the game system somewhere rather than an oversight on my part.
The only other possibility, which doesn't bear thinking about, is that somehow I sent you the wrong saved game.
CONFUSED
Ok! I'm somewhat confused now. Becuase of Bob's comment that my turn had not been completed properly and that he was able to view the Scottish map before ending my turn and commencing his I became concerned that I had sent him my Start of Turn file, rather than my End of Turn file, which I know had ended and had tested to make sure it showed the Russian password screen when loaded.
So, just to confirm that I had uploaded and linked the right file I decided to load the file I had uploaded again onto my PC and make sure that the Russian password screen came up.
Well, it didn't......the weird thing is that instead, what came up, was the Scottish Password screen.
The good news is that when I entered my password and looked at the map it showed all my units in the correct positions I had left them in at the end of my last turn. So, I didn't send Bob the wrong file.
The bad news is that even if you complete your turn and see the password screen for the next faction appear it does not actually mean that the game system has saved at this point and even reloading the saved game and seeing the next factions password screen displayed does not mean that this will be the case for the next player.
That's a strange one Didz. We'll have to keep an eye on it, but I don't get the impression that anyone is going to try to cheat in this group. It'd be pretty easy to catch, and what would really be the point other than just wrecking the game? If we all just do the right thing the game should roll on okay.
:egypt:
honestly as soon as I put in your password I oved the screen East as quickly as possible, I didn't see anything and wouldn't want to. I am too far away from Scotland for things that happen there to bother me.
I'm sure thats true, and had not intention of suggesting otherwise. However, it does seem to me that the Hotseat mode provided with the game has not been designed for PBEM play.
When you end your turn the game immediately clicks over and displays the password screen for the next faction. But is seems from these tests is that the saved game produced taken captures the game turn prior to this point.
Is there anyway to force it to save again manually after the next factions password screen has been displayed?
Yes, when the password screen is displayed, press ESC and then save game.
Where's pever?
Yes, where is he? We need to get this moving quickly.
:confused:i thought it was...
playing now.
