With so many battles being fought in a turn, we need to make sure we're downloading the most current save. Check out the save before you fight your battle and make sure it syncs up with the latest events.

Re: Out of character thread XV
I am going to set a time limit on the two remaining battles. They must be completed by Monday, November 5th, 6pm EST.
Reposting for convenience.
Péter von Kastilien: (gibsonsg91921: Try to refight this battle before the time limit. If you do not, I will skip it unless you tell me to fight it for you and attempt to replicate the results you listed before.)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
You have returned to Frankfurt to rescue it from the besieging Danes. The city will certainly fall next year if you do not aid it. Attack now and free the ancient capital of the Reich.
Note: You are now in an area that has 1 unit of Mercenary Pavise Crossbowmen (cost 3) and 1 unit of Mercenary Spearmen available (cost 2). Since you have 5 wealth, you may hire either or both if you wish before you attack.
Fritz von Kastilien: (If this has not been fought when it becomes time to end the turn, I will autoresolve it (certain victory with negligible casualties) and sack the city.)
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Your raid deep into Danish territory was totally unexpected and you have caught them off-guard. You stand outside the gates of Stockholm, pleased to see that the city is essentially defenseless. As if your luck was not good enough already, the heir to the Danish throne, Godfred, is trapped inside. If you can capture him, the ransom would be exceptionally large.
Note: You gave me free-reign to hire mercenaries. I chose to hire 2 units of Free Company Longbowmen for you (cost 2 each, after your special ability discount), as you were lacking in non-artillery ranged attack. Plus, who doesn't like stakes?
Note 2: Make sure you tell me whether you sack, occupy, or exterminate the city. Do NOT destroy any buildings in Stockholm. If you want to 'ravage' the city, tell me so and I will provide the proper rewards. I don't want the actual in-game buildings knocked down, though, as it will cause long-term harm to the Danish AI. Best to keep them powerful.
I actually got pretty close. The enemy kills were about the same, but Peter's losses were 300 less than you suffered. So, after the battle I disbanded regiments that totaled about 300 men to compensate. It is still a heroic victory and you still get your new battle marker. For the purposes of the stats in the Chancellor's thread, I will use the stats you listed from your own battle.

Re: Out of character thread XV
Very nice story TC.
In can entirely imagine this story occurring many times throughout the Reich.

The best part about this entire thing is that even if we survive the cataclysm we still have the Plague coming up in the next Chancellorship. :laugh4:

Re: Out of character thread XV
Guys, I have a problem. The internet's down at my house, and probably won't be working until tomorrow. I can't send my orders, because the library computers don't have paint, so I can't put up a picture detailing my movements.
I really am sorry about this, but I don't know what I can do.

Re: Out of character thread XV
Ignoramus: a paint picture is optional. If you want to mount a serious assault, you can send me your orders for this turn verbally and I will implement them. If you don't want to mount an assault, I think TinCow can end the turn.

Re: Out of character thread XV
Just an announcement that I will be in Washington, DC from Thursday to Saturday and will not have access to the .Org during that time.
If I get into a fight (either vs. the AI or PvP) and it doesn't look like I'll be back in time to play it out myself I authorize TinCow to fight it for me.
Activity list will be updated.
-edit- Happy birthday FactionHeir! :cake:

Re: Out of character thread XV
As I have been given permission to autoresolve Fritz's battle and the Flemish Crossroads will be spilling over to the next turn, I will move the game to 1328 when I get home from work. It takes me a long time to write the report and tweak the post-AI turn save though, so expect the next turn report and save to be posted Tuesday evening.

Re: Out of character thread XV
NN said not too long ago that he might be the oldest. There seems to be a good size age range in the game. TC and I represent the "pushing 30" demographic. ^_^

Pushing 30... jah, I'm with AussieGiant there --- the only pushing I'm doing to 30 is pushing it down the demographic ladder. :disguise: That said, I'd never do my 30s over again!

Re: Out of character thread XV
That puts me just about smack in the middle of the: "God if only I was just pushing 30".
Assuming we are talking about the next decade.
Amazing really...I'm impressed we have teenagers all the way to fossil's in this game :laugh4:

Re: Out of character thread XV
Please don't move the game to 1328; it's unfair. I had no control over our internet yesterday, and only managed to get on a computer at the library for fifteen minutes - not enough time for me to plan my assault. If I lose Bruges because of this, then it's pretty rough. In fact, if our internet wasn't working this morning, I wouldn't even get access to the library(it's Melbourne Cup day here, hence everything is closed).

Re: Out of character thread XV
Econ said that the battle can continue to happen in 1330, there will be time for an assault then and I doubt he would make anyone unfairly lose a city. Gosh you guys make me feel young :P, only 15 here. Playing with adults is a welcome break after having swearwords screamed at you in high pitched voices in halo 3, I sure am glad I found this PBM :).

Re: Out of character thread XV
That's fine. We originally said we would give you another turn to push forward on the battle, so I am willing to do that. I will do everything except click next turn on the save so that it will be ready ASAP when the time arrives. However, I am leaving the judgment call on this up to econ21. If he decides that Flemish Crossroads is moving too slowly and that the game should be advanced to 1328, then I will do so.

We have nothing to do with it. The AI will assault the city next turn and win unless they are blocked this turn. Wolfgang cannot move close enough to the city to aid it unless he wins the battle. Thus, if the battle goes into the next turn, Bruges will be taken by the AI.

Re: Out of character thread XV
Well, I was about to post that I would defer to TinCow, so given his opinion expressed above, we can hold on ending the turn.
Ignoramus: I received some orders from you via TC; if you want to expand on them (e.g. with a Paint diagram), you have until the deadline tomorrow afternoon (UK time).
TinCow: if we are playing out the Battle for the Flemish Crossroads, then Tamur should have time to play his battle.
