Utmost care must be taken as you drive off a passenger ferry, you never know if the ferry is suddenly going to slip back wards as you drive off it. Surprisingly, not even the cargo truck got anything more but minor damages. The ferry got delayed with about 15 minutes; that's when the cargo truck in its second attempt could drive off in a proper manner.

Norwegian ferries should only transport Fjords.
Yes, that was ferry funny indeed. But that's snow reason to carry on poking fun at our northern friends. Jokes about slipping trucks in icy Norway are always a slippery slope, next thing you'll know somebody will say the driver was probably blond.
Woman jailed for 'killing' virtual husband
Quote:
A 43-year-old player in a virtual game world became so angry about her sudden divorce from her online husband that she logged on with his password and killed his digital persona, police say.
The woman, who has been jailed on suspicion of illegally accessing a computer and manipulating electronic data, used his ID and password to log onto the popular interactive game Maple Story to carry out the virtual murder in May, a police official in the northern city of Sapporo said. He spoke on condition of anonymity because of department policy.
"I was suddenly divorced, without a word of warning. That made me so angry," the official quoted her as telling investigators and admitting the allegations.
The woman, a piano teacher, had not plotted any revenge in the real world, the official said.
She has not yet been formally charged. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison or a fine up to $US5,000 ($A7,427).

The new moneda circulating out there: Marijuana
VERO BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A McDonald's cashier called 911 after a Vero Beach drive-thru customer allegedly offered to pay for his meal with marijuana. The Indian River County Sheriff's Office said the cashier called Monday with a description of the vehicle the suspect had been riding in.
A deputy spotted the vehicle, found marijuana in the car and arrested its occupant, 27-year-old Shawn Alexander Pannullo.
Pannullo was charged with possession of cannabis and posted $500 bail. It was unclear if he had an attorney. A Sheriff's report did not say what the suspect ordered at McDonald's or if he ultimately purchased the meal using something other than marijuana.
What's the difference? They are both green...
Incredible. He really ought to know better. Doesn't he realise he's a famous rolemodel for French youth? :no:Quote:
Arsène Wenger has admitted it is "unacceptable" for Arsenal captain William Gallas to have been pictured with a cigarette — but backed the Frenchman as the right man to lead his young Gunners side.
Gallas, 31, was photographed as he left a nightclub on Thursday morning holding a cigarette in his mouth, although it was not lit.
However, Wenger made it clear that if the reports of his smoking are substantiated, he will take action.
I mean, what's next, Arsène Wenger complaining his French players can't have coffe breaks during training? Can't have a wine before a game? Outrageous, this.
Gallas was just preparing for his next match.Quote:

The high-speed TGV train had to stop for two hours while firemen cut through the train's pipework.
The man was carried away by emergency services, with the toilet still attached to his arm.

Anyway, we here have some X ray producing tape that might be of interest..
Sticky tape is source of X-rays
Yep, only works in vacuum.Quote:
Peeling sticky tape emits X-rays strong enough to scan a human finger, a remarkable experiment has shown.
US researchers used a motorised peeling machine to unwind a roll of Scotch tape at a rate of 3 cm per second.
By placing their apparatus in a vacuum, they measured X-rays strong enough to X-ray a human digit, according to a report in Nature journal. [...]

Kevin Bacon did it...

Meanwhile, the family's lawyer, Steven Lewis, of Slater & Gordon, also rubbished newspaper reports the family had links to a rival pub as a "Kevin Bacon … six degrees of separation [defence]" - a reference to the pop-culture belief that any actor in history can be linked via their film roles to the US actor Kevin Bacon.
News Limited yesterday reported that Mr Whyte's brother-in-law worked for Keystone Hospitality, which owns Cargo Bar and Bungalow 8. "What is this, the Kevin Bacon … six degrees of separation [defence]?" Mr Lewis said. "My question is: 'Did Kevin Bacon put the faeces in the ice-cream?"'.

Restaurant closed after dead deer found in kitchen
HAMBURG, N.Y. – Health officials shut down a suburban Buffalo restaurant after an inspector found employees butchering a dead deer inside the business. Erie County Health Department officials said they got a tip Friday about a dead deer in the China King restaurant in the town of Hamburg, just south of Buffalo.
An inspector soon arrived and saw the deer being butchered in the kitchen.
State health laws prohibit butchering an animal inside a restaurant.
