Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
Girl Help. Yeah so its another thread by PI about a girl. :shame:
So this girl 2 houses down is about 8 months older than me and in the same grade, which is certainly not too large of an age gap. she's a cheerleader, I'm on the football team (dont think I told anyone about this yet on here, HS Football!!). And I want to ask her out. I'm friends with her brother and hes fine with it, but there are 2 main problems:
She may or may not have a boyfriend, and nobody will be upfront and just tell me. don't know if this is trying to protect me or trying to make it funny when I do ask her out, hope neither.
Don't have any clue how to get closer to her. I go to their house all the time, but I hardly know her. how could I get to know her more so I can ask her out?

This seems odd. I think you should spite your tight-liped friends and ask her anyway. You have taken alot of no's, what is one more? If you never ask her, the answer is no from the beginning to end. If you ask, you might get a yes.

You are in the same school I assume? Do you never pass in the hallway? Share classes? Participate in the same football related events? Study dates? Casual chit-chat by the lockers? If you go to different schools then perhaps you should note the email ask a girl out thread.
edit: Poor PI, so studly yet so seemingly fragile when it comes to aspects of love...I can relate ;)

Patience is a virtue. If you are impatient, ask your buddy to 'arrange' for you and your interest to be in the same room at the same time. Strike up a brief conversation about something you might have in common, football season for example, make a guess if necessary. Where you take the conversation (keep it brief) is up to you. I have always liked the study date route. Some idle (perhaps well placed) chit-chat under the guise of homework and the like. Once, I came to the study date bearing a gift. I brought a container of dried apricots for us to share as we went over schoolwork. She appreciated the gesture and enjoyed the fruit. Hence, we had homework and fruit to ease the tension and allow the conversation to flow more smoothly. Things progressed slowly and conversation was always able to be made and maintained, if the semester hadn't ended, and I graduated, it might have gone somewhere. :)

Patience? I'm 15, what were you thinking? Besides, I'm taking almost all very AP classes, except for an honors 10th grade english class (they put me in 11th grade english last year, so now im in 10th grade english???)

I don't quite understand what you mean by your post regarding a date, but I will continue with some advice anyway. As far as patience goes, you are going to have to learn it sooner or later, better do it while you are young. If you are saying she is in none of your classes, well, you can study historical topics for seperate history classes if you like. Don't think your lives have to be mirror images of one another for things to go well. You will never find anyone or anything like that. The only thing you will find is dissapointment. Should you ever decide to strike up a conversation, then that perhaps is where you will learn what move to make next. You only need one similarity to move forward, not all of them. Hopefully she is not impatient like you, girls don't like that.

Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
I'm not impatient, I just dont have a whole ton of patience.
-
Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
That's fine. You'll find that many of the good and bad in life is best dealt with slowly...;) In a time of less responsibility, 'youth', patience is more readily learned than in a time of more responsibility, 'aged one'. The less you have to think about, the easier patience comes to you. The young mind is also more sponge-like than when it hardens with age. If you should note when someone spills some patience, perhaps then you can learn to wipe it up...slowly.

Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
Keep trying and it may work out.
Things have a way of solving themselves. I went through about 18 months of trying to get x girl then y girl. I gave up and out of nowhere, something happened. I didn't even really try...
The real question is, what are you in it for. Why do you want to be her boyfriend?
-
Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
I don't really know. I feel like she's the only one whos really my age and maturity anywhere near my house, and I'm attracted to her regardless. First night I saw her I decided I wanted to go out with her.
Plus she's 2 houses down; What could be better?!
-
Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
You should flirt with her while you are over at their house, but the casual friendly flirting. If she reacts well to it, at least you know she doesn't think you are a goofus.
When they don't flirt back, pull a look like your just crapped on their pillow, or say nasty comments, then you know that asking isn't a good idea.

Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
You need to do something really COOL!
Show her how MANLY you are!
When she's watching, do a HANDstand, climb a really tall TREE, or beat up one of your FRIENDS!
When she sees how AWESOME you are she will be all YOURS!

The best advice comes from your fellow football teammates. Trust me, I was on the football team too.
"Get that **** swinging all over town, she will be lookin at it and going 'oh ****, look at that big **** **** swinging, I want some of that ****!' and then she will be all up on you and yo uget to be 'nah, *****. my **** aint just for you, ****!' at which point she will be wantin you even more bro. at that point you got that ******* ***** all locked up for your big swinging **** bro!"

Flirting is merely conversations with pleasing gestures. It's not hard to do.

He is also alittle rude to be dating. I find good manners charming!

Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
my god you would be appalled then at how many girls total douche bags with horrible manners who treat girls like total crap get. Its a shame, because I've never seen a more polite teenager actually, at least not under 17.

Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
Younger girls, and sometimes, younger men, often will look past the obvious...

Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
Dude, you are 15? Dont waste your breath. I know, its tempting to go after girls, but dont try to get into anything serious before the age of 18. It just aint worth it. Wait until both you and they mature.
-
Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
so you're saying not to go after any girls for 3 years, while everybody around me is dating a new girl every couple weeks and having sex? you must be insane.
-
Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
Fine, go ahead, but all you will do is break your heart. One girl who I know is 16, bi, and has a new girlfriend/boyfriend every month, and she is one miserable little girl.

Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
15 seems alittle young to be having sex in my opinion. How responsible are youngsters these days? Anyway, if sex is the only motivation with which to start a relationship, a meaningful relationship, it would seem to me be doomed to failure. Unless of course, the other participant wants sex as well. But even if the two have sex right off the bat, a relationship might not have any staying power. Some might flatter in order to get the goods if you will, but one would think such acts would carry a negative reputation, hence negating future possibility. I don't know how it is nowadays. If a lasting relationship is what you want, then trial and error thru conversation while keeping certain urges and covered as possible is the best route. If you want sex, find someone who is experienced in such matters and strike up a conversation with her. Courting someone with similar motivations to your own will more than likely lead to the results which you desire most. This is all in my opinion, I can provide no successes or failures.

Isn't the age of consent 18?

I didn't think it mattered when both parties were under 18. If one party is over and the other under, then you have a problem. I could be wrong though.

He doesn't appear stupid enough like we were, bro. From the looks of it, he just wants to get laid, nothing more. Good for him.
Anyways, if you're over at her place all the time, how hard is it to strike a conversation? Anything from, "hey, so you gonna check out the next football game?" to "heeeeey, I like your hair, it's really nice!"
My personal favourite is: "Hmmm, you look tired." One lonesome night, I got a cashier-girl carrying it on with a "Yeah, I worked my second job all day." "Oh really? Damn, sounds rough. So, where's your other job?" ...
Hey. You are handsome, right?

Just do whatever you want. Ignore everyone's advice (including this advice).

Re: Hoped I'd never have to make another one of those threads...
Girls are people to. They like to talk and have conversations, I have also heard they may still talk to you with or without a boyfriend! Don't quote me on that though
