What is the difference between the frontroom and the backroom?

It seems kinda dumb to have two forums so similar!

The Frontroom is BKS's and Beirut's Kingdom of Peace and Love, for fun, incontroversial things.
The Backroom is for debates and arguments on current affairs.

The Frontroom is rigidly moderated to be non-controversial but general topics - such as family, news, advice and so on.

The Backroom is a brutal free-for-all political arena, where anything goes except personal attacks and kitten-porn.

Another reason for the split was the fact that in certain times (e.g., Iraq war, US presedential elections) there were so many new threads started on politics that all the more light-hearted got quickly buried and dropped off the first page.

In restrospect I would say that the split was a very good decision, as there are a lot of patrons who enjoy the Frontroom but used to avoid the former "one-stop-shop"-Tavern as they did not like the more aggressive atmosphere.

I don't post anywhere but the Backroom.

In the Frontroom you post flash links to Badgers and Mushrooms and scarysnakes and in the Backroom you discuse the merits of preserving the environment of snakes and whether illegal mushrooms should be legal.

I don't post much of anywhere but the backroom, but in retrospect some of the sillier stuff i have posted should have been in the frontroom. I guess I just have this wierd feeling that I onlyu care about the opinions of the people in the backroom, so why waste thoughts on the frontroom?? I dunno.

I very seldom play TW anymore, and rarely online, but occasionally i post in the arena and the frontroom just to annoy Gregoshi (who, BTW, hates me and wont talk to me)

The Frontroom is the Org. depository for all things Floyd and female.

We might start a new dedicated subforum for that - but we would probably get complaints again that we have too many forums...

in order to be approved and allowed access to the solypsist-invititation-only v.i.p. subforum, one must have proven to be responsible in the back room. no one has ever gone from the front room only straight to the v.i.p. subforum

that's one of the differences few n00bs know about.

Damn, and all this time I acted as if the Backroom is _the_ place to behave irresponsibly... in all other weenie-places one has to control oneself, but here.... no holds barred :skull:

It’s just like a mullet, business in the front and party in the back! Or maybe it’s the opposite of a mullet. Oh well, I got to use the word mullet in a post and that has been a goal of mine for sometime. :laugh4:
