May Screenshot Competition

Ok, there was no April competition, but here is the May competition. There have been several different systems for judging, and I'm not sure which one will be used this time but post your pics. Post them here, and if there are lots, there will be an internal team vote, resulting in an external vote for all of you to decide.

Same rules as before.
-One per person per month
-Has to be EB
-Has to be acceptable to forum rules
-Cropping to removing UI only
-Altering the pictures are ok, but don't go overboard

I forgot to turn off the banners, but I'm not going to try recreating this.

Nice pic, the Spartans look ready but the Epheroite(spelling) heavy cav look like it's a ride in the park(level those lancers dudes).

How did you do that? I thought units were limited to a maximum of 242 men. (I counted 320 + one officer in the picture)

i counted 300.. :P (15*20) (not counting officers)

There are 300+1. I just grouped 5 units of 60 together in the tightest possible formation with shift + right click + drag. :smash:

You didn't think I managed to put 300 guys in a unit, did you? :laugh4:

So far like Dhampir's, I think I 'll upload one of mine soon...

This is why I like the Pic Comps I get to see units I rarely get to play with. Those Agrissomething guys look cool, and that mace looks nasty :yes:

(one thing though, those greeks need to SQUAT, they got skinni legs :whip: )

The pic is taken from a custom battle replay with the movie_cam command added to the shortcut line.
It's a pity we can't change zoom limits for during battles or at least have the ability to save a campaign battle. I missed a ton of great pics because of that...

In the game, just hit "print screen". It will copy the screen to the clipboard. Then you alt+tab and open an image editing program like paint of photoshop and paste.

Yes I press print screen and then copy it in paint, but I'll get an image of my destkop with rtw being runned in the background according to it. Would this have anything to do with me using that oh so great thing called vista?

It might be vista. The same thing happens when trying to Print Screen a movie on XP, because it's overlayed. Try fraps, or check the rtw folder if the screenshot has been saved as a png.

Taken from a 1.0 campaign, as I can't get xfire to take screenshots anymore of RTW after xfire's last update. :( Anyways, I believe the town shown is Opiana. Hard fought battle but the army there was no match for heavy infantry. The title is named in honor of the elephant driver on the closest elephant that is keeling over, as it appears that the driver is "feeling up" that building wall next to him as he is about to fall.

Maybe fraps will work with Vista? Xfire doesn't anymore for me.

It's cool. You can do night battles in custom battles and I believe we left it so that it could be easily activated for the campaign game. The only reason we have it deactivated by default is that it screws up in-game video like the faction defeat and victory screens.

But I think it would be much better if you remove this lightspot effect across the picture, it seems very odd, I don't think there are some guys with searchlights on the towers...:juggle2:

If the screen gets to dark without it, play a bit with brightness and contrast or saturation.

Remember, subtlety always wins! Everyone can apply masses of Photoshop filters, the real trick is to make them so subtle they are not noticed as filters, but enhance the pic nevertheless.

All the others are as always superb, too, of course :) , especially the first one which makes one feel the thunder of those horses and "Feel the Wall" which has quite a original scene, I think, no 08/15 "2 armies facing each other" but one of the rarer views ingame. Also it seems very lively, all this huddling, the whirling dust and the last rise of the elephant. Great :)

I generally see the march of time come in at around 250 BCE. This is before 242 BCE of course.

It's was a little battle for help my allies (Spartan's) not a real invasion. this is in 248 BC!
I am waiting 241 BC for take Sicilia! I will wait 146 BC for take Makedonia and the all Greec!

I am not sure if I am allowed to take part as a team member. If not, this one is outside the competition.

Recently I was fighting allot in Illyria and surrounding lands and right now I think its the most beautiful part of EB map.

I'm happy you guys are enjoying the landscapes. I spent a lot of time on them... and LordBula made a really awesome tool that spared me the pain of hex editing and made it all possible.
