Which way does the dancer turn for you?

Clockwise for me though... I remember seeing this a while back.

In my experience with this thing it all depends on where your eyes focus. So I guess you could put me down for both as I can get it to where it appears to go both ways. :dizzy2:

Ahem, anyway, anti-clockwise for me. Try as I might, I can't reverse it. So in my mind, :logic:

Im pretty sure she was always going anti-clockwise then i scrolled down and up and im sure she was going the other way for a bit, until i scrolled again... the anti clockwise makes sense i more a science and maths than philosophy and religion guy...

Edit: it just changed direction without me even scrolling... this thing is weired...

I figured out my own little way of making the girl turn which ever way I want by focusing on her foot that is in the air and by changing my perception of whether it is moving in front or behind her other leg thus making her 'change direction'.

Who ever made it was one smart cookie.

I have a headache now after staring at it for the last fifteen minutes. Time for a couple of Panadol I think.

First look, and it was anti-clockwise, and I thought 'there's no way you can see that the other way round' .... then it flipped. Now I can decide which way to see it.

Started counter-clockwise. Then I looked at the text for 1/10 of a second and it started turning the other way. And now I do not seem to able to reverse it again..

its only going clockwise now and i can't change it !!! this thing is confusing and annoying... in a confusing way...

i saw it going clockwise first... read the text and the side and decide this is bs... as i dont fit the bill.... but after readjusting my focus saw it go anti clockwise... now i can get it to go either direction at will!!!

I see it both ways as well.

I wonder if the correlation on how to see one or the other (without the hidden text trick Galain suggested) is accurate. Trying to concentrate on the angular rotation and it's velocity (change of position versus time) is a left brained activity, so focusing on the way she's spinning will usually make her go counter-clockwise. Reading the text or letting your mind drift about the aesthetic features of the dancer's silhouted figure are right-brain features and causes her to spin clockwise.

And for those of us with really powerful minds, we can force her to stop spinnging altogether!!! :idea2: Just call me the amazing Kreskin... :sultan:

A motion picture is simply a series of frames, or still pictures, sampled at a rate faster than the eye can process, which gives the illusion of motion. How fast your eye (and brain) process the data depends on the number of brain functions you're performing. Concentrate, really, really hard on the image. Look for the patterns in the turning, try to tune your mind to the sampling rate the picture is turning at, then force yourself to anticipate the picture turns. You really can do it, at least I can, but if you have an epiletic seizure, don't blame me. Make sure you don't have any other interrupts for your brain to process. Be in a quiet room, be relaxed, and force your mind to conentrate on nothing but the picture, and its perceived angular rotation.

Lol guys! Try this out, nevermind the dancer and just keep reading those description words from the list. For me then on certain words the girl starts spinning towards other direction and with some other words she turns to the other way, like if the words are associated with different parts of my brain. When im focusing at the dancer girl she keeps spinning clockwise.:laugh4: .

For the life of me, I cannot get that girl to turn clockwise. Apparently, the right side of my brain is on a holiday or something.:sweatdrop:

Clockwise but I can make it switch direction. I think it's easier to concentrate on the standing foot and watch that.

I know except the other way round. It was going clockwise, then I looked away, thought about it, looked back and it wasn't!

I had clockwise. Read the instructions and then looked again. Soon it was going anti then clockwise and back 'n forth. Power of the mind:boxing:

Initially, it was only going counter-clockwise. After having stared at it for 5 minutes, though, it now switches back & forth at will every 1-10 seconds. No idea how I'm doing it. :dizzy2:

Clockwise at first, but I can imagine it turning counter-clockwise and reverse it. If my attention slips though, it's going clockwise again.

I'm a righty! I caan reverse it, but it usually goes back to clockwise.

Its going Clockwise for me, i cant see it going anticlockwise, but the way the leg is pointed up is forcing me to see it clockwise, so if the leg ws down i might have a different opinion

It refuses to go anyway but clockwise for me.

Clockwise standard, however, if go down a little, focus on the foot, the frown so it covers the top half of my eyes it goes the other way a little bit (aproxmatly 10 o'clock) then it swings off to 2 o'clock! and continues swinging till I revert to normal

My dad claims it changes automatically at random, but his left eye is made up of 154+ bikers.

I'm unconvinced the "author"'s claim is true on this one. I had three friends who are absolutely, no questions asked, left-brained logical accountants look at this, and they also said it spins clockwise.

Ahhh it keeps changing direction, opened up 2 of the same webpage, one went clockwise one went anti-clockwise a bit later, then vice versa.

It's an optical illusion. I know for a fact that I'm not "fantasy oriented".
