Soviet Mafia: a small game [Concluded]
Comrade,
Two months ago the corrupt, capitalist, smelly and repulsive oligarchs of Orgahstan have been driven out by the Red Army and most of the anti-revolutionaries that have stayed behind have been put against the wall. Something has to be done about those pesky farmers, but presently we have more important matters.
As you probably know, other countries that were liberated by the Red Army usually had the good fortune of attracting good administrators from Moscow, Stalingrad or other renowned places. Your country though is more retarded in its development than any place in the USSR and no one has bothered to come, if they even noticed that Orgahstan is now a workers' paradise. Our party officials would rather freeze to death in Siberia than to spend their days in this cesspool.
But let's get to the point. The government and the civil service is composed entirely out of natives, and not nearly all of them have been screened. No doubt the whole structure is infested with countless menshewiks, anarchists, royalists and other scumbags. As you know, your fellow Soviet member Kralizec was brutally murdered yesterday. This has to be the work of someone else on the Soviet as no one else could get this close to him. Whoever this enemy of the working class is, he must be brought to justice. I'll leave this in the hands of the remaining councillors of the Soviet; be advised that I can't spare any men to protect you or the others. You must gather and decide who the killer must have been; then I'll have him executed.
With regards,
Marshall Fenring, supreme leader of the Red Army in Orgahstan

Re: Soviet Mafia: a small game
Three members of the Soviet executed
Despite the fact that the sparse evidence suggests that there was only one traitor, the Soviet in all its wisdom decided to purge three of its members to be on the safe side.
El Diablo confessed within minutes after being taken away for interrogation by Marshall Fenring's officers. In the face of death, he cast his vote on Caius so that he had to share his fate.
Caius maintained his innocence until the very end; at his hearing he launched several angry tirades against his collegues.
Askthepizzaguy refused to say anything during his interrogation. His last words are reported as "Oh well, better luck next time."
All three were lined up together and executed by firing squad.
In the evening, Marshall Fenring sent this letter to the remaining members of the Soviet:
"The men of wich you told me were involved in the conspiracy have been put to death. This means that whoever killed the late mr. Kralizec should be dead, and the remaining councillors of the Soviet are safe. I have my doubts, though. If the traitor is still alive, we'll find out.
With regards,
Marshall Fenring"

Re: Soviet Mafia: a small game
A loud knock could be heard throughout the entire house. Then another one, then continously. Finally the lone inhabitant got out of bed, tried to rub the sleep out his eyes and made his way to the door.
"Who is it?" he said, a simple precaution he had made a habit of.
"A delivery man from the party's mail service, Mr. Rythmic. I have a package for you that is labeled as urgent."
Rythmic opened the door and took the package, signed to confirm the delivery and closed the door. What could be so urgent to have it delivered at 4:30 in the morning? he thought. There was a card attached that read "For our esteemed collegue on the Soviet: Congratulations!". Being convinced that the traitor was caught and only half awake, he failed to get suspicious. He grabbed a knife and started cutting away the tape and ribbons around the package....
Two hours later, this message was sent to the members of the Soviet:
Comrade,
Dire news. Your collegue Rythmic is dead, killed in an explosion. We have just found his remains among the debris of his house. One of the neighbours said he heard him talking to somebody just before the explosion. It appears somebody delivered a concealed bomb to his house.
This means that you have failed to eliminate the traitor, and it's increasingly obvious that he will not stop until he has killed all of you. You must convene as soon as possible and find out who he really is, before it's too late.
Regards,
Marshall Fenring

Re: Soviet Mafia: a small game
It had been over two hours since Fenring had started the interrogation, and still no confession. Most suspects broke within half an hour when submitted to some of the harsher methods, and his team of "specialists" hadn't kept anything in reserve this time. Slightly agistated, he grabbed the yellow lamp and almost shoved it in Swedishfish' face, who moved to the back of the chair to avoid the heat.
"Who are your contacts?" Fenring demanded. He had asked this question at least three times, and now Swedishfish didn't even bother to answer.
"What is your relation to the British intelligence agency?" he asked, seeking to eliminate one of his suspicions.
Hearing this new question, Swedishfish lifted his head and began to speak again.
"I dun knaw any pfeople from wesern countrith." His speech was slightly distorted because of the various drugs Fenring had tried on him. Blood dripped from his mouth, a testimony to the severe beating he had endured fifteen minutes earlier.
"Like I phaid bephowe...I'm not de peffon yawe looking forr. You Ruffians..." he was interrupted by Fenring, who had unholstered his revolver and delivered a vicious blow across the face of his prisoner. Swedishfish fell of his chair and stayed immobile on the ground, panting and spraying blood everytime he breathed out.
Fenring took a deep breath as if to speak, then hesitated. He was tired and would rather put the interrogation off till tomorrow, or put an end to all this nonsense. It was obvious that it would take a long time before they'd get any useful information out of this one - if he was the traitor. His orders from Moscow were clear enough - he had to execute anyone who the Soviet of Orgahstan labeled a traitor, leaving little room for extended interrogations.
With the revolver still in his hand he briefly considered doing the act himself, then rejected the thought. He signaled the guards to take him outside and put him out of his misery. That was the procedure, afterall- and when posted at the edge of the civilized world keeping the rules became even more important.

Re: Soviet Mafia: a small game
FactionHeir strumpled out of the bar after a wild night, mildly intoxicated from drinking more than two bottles of vodka. One of the girls he had been talking to earlier that night, a secretary from the ministry of health, could be seen vomiting in a nearby alley. She had been more charming during their conversation, Factionheir reflected. To his right he could see some Russian officers smoking their cigarettes, and right across the street he could see the chief of police get into his car with some Uzbeki-looking broad.
Finally his own car caught his eye, right on the spot where he'd told his driver to wait. He opened the door and seated himself on the back bench, and the car got moving.
"By Marx' beard...major hangover tomorrow..." FactionHeir mumbled. After several minutes of driving, he looked out of the car and noticed that this wasn't the usual route. They were driving through some abandoned outskirts of the city. He was about to ask what was going on when he looked into the rearview mirror and met familiar eyes, but not those of his driver. As the figure turned in his seat, FactionHeir could see something glimmering in his hand.
Then nothing...
Begin of Day Three
Comrade,
FactionHeir has been found dead in his car, shot in his forehead. We're still investigating the scene but I doubt that anything useful will come from it.
Again, you must gather and vote. I expect to be notified by the end of the day.
And please get the right one this time! I'm a busy man without having to take care of your trash every day.

Re: Soviet Mafia: a small game
Fenring looked at the condemned standing besides eachother in the open, hands bound. There were three of them - Sarathos, Makaikhaan and one of his own officers.
This same officer came arruning to him that evening, excited about his results from the interrogation of Makaikhaan. To Fenring it was immediately obvious that the information was utter nonsense. He could not suffer to let such a moron live.
"Any last words?" he asked.
"Long live Stalin!" the condemned officer shrieked.
Makaikhaan passed a loud fart and snickered.
"Get done with it already!" Sarathos said, looking tired and disgusted by Makaikhaan's final gesture.
Fenring responded with a silent nod, took a deep breath and let his voice rumble.
"Present rifles!......Fire!"
A salvo of gunshots deafened the ears; as the officer and Makaikhaan sagged to the ground the salvo could still be heard echoing against the nearby hills. Only Sarathos still stould, unstable on both feet with bloodstains expanding on his shirt. He stared in shock and disbelief at his executioners, and he could only hear Fenring's voice as a distant sound, as if in a dream: "....reload....fire!"
Another volley slammed into Sarathos' chest and finished the job, causing a lifeless hull to collapse on the ground. The marshall and his troops left the scene to the morgue workers.
It would be night soon, Fenring thought. The Soviet had been thinned out badly, and there was nothing to be done except wait and see if the assassinations would stop now.

If you have been busy and probably haven't had time to read the thread properly and even if you have you admit that you are tired which means you probably weren't paying that much attention. So how on earth do you have the evidence to support a double lynch...?
I say lynch pever next round.

Re: Soviet Mafia: a small game
Pevergreen was working late that night. It was 4:20 in the morning and he had drank litres of coffee but now the tiredness caught up with him.
"Sir, you really ought to go home." said a night guard as he padded Pever on the shoulder, rocking him out of his brief nap. "You're no good this way. Get some real sleep and then get back."
Pever nodded. "Okay, boris. I'll get my car..."
"Sir, I don't think that you should drive in your condition. You'd fell asleep on your steering wheel."
Pever, annoyed now, grunted. "Okay, then you drive me then, wise guy."
"Err...okay. I'll notify the other guards that I'll be away."
Two minutes later they were out. Boris, with the keys in his hand, spotted the car about 20 metres away on the other side of the road. He noticed that Pever, a few metres behind him, had dropped some of his papers and started cursing.
Well, I'll just bring the car around to here so that we can leave as soon as he has collected everything he thought as he crossed the street. He got into the car, closed the door and tried to start the engine...
In an instant the street was illuminated by a giant fireball. The car was launched a full metre upwards; the shockwave of the explosion caused all windows in the vicinity to burst into thousends of pieces. Some screams could be heared coming from the buildings. The police and the firebrigade had arrived within minutes, finding a dozen ruined cars and a lone figure behind one of the wrecks, trembling and clenching some bundles of paper in his arms. With his hair and eyebrows entirely gone, they almost didn't recognise who he was...
"What was that sound?" captain Alex asked. He had almost choked on his wodka when he heard that rumbling sound.
"Probably nothing" responded a lieutenant Josef.
"It sounded like an explosion..."
"Probably just a gas leak or something. Don't worry about it." Lord Winter said. He was wildly drunk at this point, but not moreso then his drinking companions. And they were playing this exciting game...what was it called again? Oh yes; Russian roulette!
"It's your turn, comrade." Alex said, nodding towards Lord Winter. He spinned the cylinder of the revolver and closed it, then put it in front of the Orgah politician.
"Well..." began Lord Winter. "The chances are pretty small right...that I'll shoot myself?"
"Very small..." Josef agreed, burping.
After hesitating for only an instant, Lord Winter grabbed the revolver and put it on the side of his head...
---------------------
Comrade,
as you've doubtlessly heard by now, your fellow councillor Pevergreen has narrowly escaped an assasination attempt. You probably haven't heard the other news: Lord Winter was found in a clandestine gambling den run by some of our soldiers. He had participated in a dangerous suicide game called "Russian Roulette" and was killed. I've sent the soldiers involved to the most northern reaches of Siberia for their untolerable stupidity and violation of rules of conduct.
I'm told Pevergreen is doing fairly well, he'll be with you in an hour or so. You know the routine; vote for someone and send him to me, yadayada, blablabla.

Re: Soviet Mafia: a small game
Okay, so this the last voting phrase I presume, it’s time to round up the suspects.
4 survivors
I know that I am innocent, no reason I just do. So that leaves us with 3 survivors
Pevergreen is almost certainly innocent, because of the failed attempt on him, however overall his actions is rather suspicious as the deceased Sarathos had pointed out. But the failed attempt just about grantees his innocence, so that leaves us with…
2 remaining suspects
Proletariat was almost lynched in round 2, bandwagonned until Faction Heir and Lord Winter (The two royalists, who is proven innocent) decided to change their votes. Has been quite since then, perhaps to avoid the lynch? (this is not a rhetorical question)
Elite Ferret has been unusually quite in this game, didn’t say enough to attract attention and wasn’t quite enough to be classified as a lurker, behaviour is that of a typical, confused townie. But all of this could be an act, and if it is then Elite Ferret has really done good so far, but is last post
