This has got to be the best screenshot competition I have ever seen! So hard to choose...

BTW, MAA, please fix #8 before I vote! You left out the final parenthesis-looking thingie. ( ] )

Oh, and finally, I have a question for the maker of #9, "Gathering Storm" by Silence Hunter - how did you get a picture to look so splendid? The colours are so full-looking, saturated and vibrant, and there is absolutely no jagged edges. What kind of a video card do you have? What are the rules for the competition anyway? The picture looks almost as if its colours were tweaked.

Nevermind, you fixed it MAA. I guess I am just going to wait and see which submissions amass the most points and then vote for one of those. Just so my vote does not go to something that will not win anyway. After all, it is so difficult to decide that I simply cannot choose what to vote for. Numbers 11, 2, and 1 are likely candidates, but I cannot discount the visual appeal of #9. Number 3 is likewise nice.

How about an idea, MAA? What about inserting links to the submitter's profiles so we can all see who made such marvelous screenshots? I've never heard of Silence Hunter and Burebista, but then again, I have been busy in RL lately, having very little time for EB forums, and no time for EB itself. I haven't played EB in 3 months by now :no:!

but I agree with Aemilius-they are great shots, all of them.

I voted for #5, but #9 is also very good. If I've to be honest they are all very good and it was a difficult decision. Nice work guys!

I'm not too sure of what card I have ~:rolleyes: . I know it's Nvidia. The laptop which I'm using now (and play EB) was built by my cousin who is working in the computer industry. I am playing EB on max at everything. Though this screenshot was particularly nice. I think it depends on in-game lightning you catch doing the screenshot. The only tweaking I did was cropping.

For those who are undecided for whom to vote... ancient battles always had tons of dust accompany them. The only picture accurately representing this is #10. :inquisitive:

Well, as for me, I am saving my vote 'till the last moment, when it will actually decide something. Sort of a tie-breaker if you will. Who's with me?

EDIT: I am tempted to vote for SwissBarbar, just so he can have another award. Still, I tell you, SwissBarbar, if you did not have the flags, you probably could have won by a near-landslide. If you lose I am going to be heartbroken. After all, it could have been so easily fixed...and yet it just so happened that you did not have the flags option checked off. From now on, remember to play EB without them. You are a splendid screenshot-taker, and those flags are hurting your career!

to be honest #1 is the only shot so far in which the banners did not annoy me. :D
apart from the little ones on top of the Hetairoi^^tho and that of the unit closest to the KH lines

I voted for #3, "Battle in the Woods" because I like the dust being raise that makes it look like evening light coming through the trees - almost could be a painting, you know?

A close - very close - second was #9 "The Gathering Storm". Another epic shot, just without the lighting that tipped the balance.
Also, this screen shot has a spear going through a soldier's head in the bottom, center left - not your fault at all; but it ruins the realism.

I like my screenshot to be picturesk rather than epic like, for emple, pic 1 or 11. Both of those are very good indeed, but I would never take such a screeny myself.

Seems like a close call between #1 and #9... My two favourites. :applause:

Looks like number 1 is going to win it the end.

#1 and #9 were clearly by far the best pictures, but all the others were of such high quality too.
Just look at Subotan's #4! The sky, the cloud around the snow white mountain, it just looks sublime and still it has 0 votes at the moment - a picture that would no doubt be competing for the win in a normal screenshot competition. But this competition was far from normal, I guess.

Which doesn't mean those 0 votes are anything other than undeserved! Have a balloon for the most unlucky beautiful picture, Subotan. :balloon2:

Hmm, I wonder if we will have another competition, where edited pics are allowed, would be interesting for once. There's a picture I wonder if it had a chance in this competition

Mediolanicus, I wouldn't really say that 1 and 9 were by far better than all the rest. No offence to the submitters of the respective entries, but I think most of the shots had equal opportunities to claim the title.

I don't mean to start an argument or offend anyone, but I just disagree with that claim.

At Burebista: The "by far"-part was more the conclusion I made by looking at the votes. It was not a claim.
I even said the one with 0 votes could have been a winner.

At Centurio Nixalsverdrus: what's with rivalry? Because of the dust thingy?
