Got a few names lined up for ships. Props if you know where they're from.

Not exactly the most traditional names but I want them to have a bit of personality. Plus I think in the real world the enemy would be a bit more scared of HMS Kiss My Fluffy Pink Bunny than HMS Queen Elizabeth II.

Never really thought of that. Never really been into the gee gees after seeing my grandad slowly waste my inheritence away.

My other plan was to name them after the robots on Robot Wars but having HMS Wheely Big Cheese just seems even more silly.

What about the most famous of them all, The Sleeper Service?

edit: (though I see you've got it already, at least in nickname form...)

I thought Sleeper Service wasn't as good as Quietly Confident. Neither are great but you have to have Sleeper Service in somehow.

There's so many on the wikipedia page I don''t think I'll ever be short on names.

I'll definately have an H.M.S Beane, H.M.S Martok and H.M.S Nelson.

I'm going to try a little bit of roleplaying to be honest.

Obviously, my French fleet willl be stuffed with ships like 'Yourr Mother Was a Hamster' and 'Your Father Smelled of Elderberries' or 'I Fart in Your General Direction'. I do so much love being lame.

'The Death Star' - I might even give the rest of the battle group related names. Infact each theatre of war might have a theme to their names.

I did consider naming them all after women, but if they get attacked and start going down I don't know how I'd feel.

If I play US then probably: USS IRS (The only ship I need. It will take your ships underneath you and leave you just a boat and it's all legal.)

Though, it might take me while before I will buy the game.

I wonder, will you start counting how many ships your ships have sunk?

I'd like to see some simple stats on ships and units. Large kills/Ships Sunk in a battle.
Trained in, etc, etc. Just some little flavor items.

I guess we can always keep track ourselves.

Outstanding idea. I mean, one of the better ones.

I'd like to see stats like that for all units. Imagine how much it would sting to lose them then? It would add another layer of realism.

Units killed by ranged, units killed in melee, enemies routed, prisoners captured, casualties sustained, etc.

edit: Imagine having some units that are fully upgraded, that you've had since the beginning of the campaign, still be in one of your stacks at the end of the campaign? I mean we can still do that, but with statistics it would be really interesting and add to AARs.

If I ever do an AAR, I'm making sure I name my ships after Org members. Just for the hilarity when one of them sinks or bursts into flames. :2thumbsup:

It would be even funnier if AI captures your ships with the names of Org members and you'll have to fight against them later! ~:tongue:

The biggest baddest ship is always going to be named HMS Plymouth. Not hard to guess where I live from that.
