there are alot of people who are about 20 or younger, but I don't think there are many who are quite so young as you are.
How would you count 23? That's still early 20's... right? :hide:
Nah, you're an old man now, that's why you're probably drunk.
Does this poll really belong here, though? I imagine it would have a better place, unless you're specifically referring to the EB community (?)
Yeah, I was thinking that my self, plus not as many people come here. Maybe if it was in the frontroom more people would poll.
I am 29 turning v soon to 30 but know a couple who are even over 50 here. The 'oldest' one I know in here if I'm not mistaken is 57.
Etienne
I'm 19 and I feel old. I kinda want to be a teenager again, only with the brain I have now.
17 for me, turning 18 in July...In England!! woohoo:birthday2:
23 myself, and I feel older all the time
My nephew just turned 18 :S
I'm 19, clinging on desperately to teenage years.
Your nephew just turned 18? One of my cousins has a son who is older than me...
Maion, Leviathan, I hate to break it to you, but you are still teenagers. You're only 2-3 years older than my daughter.
EDIT: I don't know about the players, but quite a few of us on the team are 30s and some are even in their 40s.
hitting 21 this year...
28 the oldest here, I felt getting older. :skull:
But my driving licence and the right to drink and vote say otherwise! :embarassed:
And yes, I am 18 as well - currently very busy with the last of my A levels (which is counter-balanced by the fact I'll then have 3/4 months holiday before university starts, so it isn't all that bad).
25. Hopefully I am having a 1/4 life crisis (1/3 life crisis = ok)!:dizzy2:
HA!! I'm the oldest one here by more than a decade!!! I can unashamedly announce I am in my late 40's...you folks write as if you think that's some kind of communicable disease. I definitely don't get the chance to play EB or dig into it's numerical innards as much as many of you on this board -- a wife, two kids, and a more-than-full-time-job will do that -- but I have a great time playing and, better still, learning about this period in history. And thank to all of your experts for helping me in this addicting little hobby!
By the way -- my brother turned me on to RTW a couple of years ago...and he's now 56. Old farts can play games too...
Well, I don't really think that last statement is going to cheerthe oldiehim up exactly...
Maion
I am older than him, I do not care..
when you learn someday you will die, your childhood dies.
when you learn you do not care it you have grew old.
CARPE DIEM!
I'm 15, I feel like a baby here on the forums. :clown:
Man, you basically die after you turn 30, right? :inquisitive:
She'd be about my age now (16).Quote:
Maion, Leviathan, I hate to break it to you, but you are still teenagers. You're only 2-3 years older than my daughter.
No -- I was referring to the whole "dying in a traffic accident" thing from Atraphoenix, who was commenting on something Joszen1 said. A bit confusing, but I'm fine being referred to as the "oldie" here...but think of it simply as "more mature"...
What the hell, call me "Grandpa Tarkus"......at age 47??!!??
Im 27, but my soul, which goes from one piece of space to another to reincarnate, is about 12 000 years old. Still i feel young :laugh4:
I'm 23 and don't wanna break the fun of anybody between 18 and 22 who say so, but I don't feel old at all!!! :clown:
I'm a freshman in High school... that means I'm 14 :inquisitive:
Im 19, meh, I dont feel old, but I dont particularly feel young either at times... To much caffiene one day, and not enough the next.
i'm gonna be 21 soon... But i still feel like i was 15.... The only difference is i had 20 kilos less back then :clown:
Thats what I was trying to say. Some days I feel young and full of energy, and others (like today unfortunatly) I felt worn out and had a massive headache from the lack of coffee. Oh well, I'm too addicted to quit, besides, coffee tastes just marvelous.
Man,, and I thought I was on the younger edge of things at 17!
I didn't realize how many of you guys were right around my age, pretty neato!
Exactly.
One of my classmates is an aunt and she is 11 i think she became 1 tho around 9...i'm guessing
Hardly
It's addicting i agree. My dad id 52 and he can't learn any of these games(ok he probaly could but he has no time)
That means i lost my childhood when i was 7
Next thi ng we know..............................................you'll have to drink coffee every hour besides sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I h8 coffee cuxz i'm 2 smart 2 get addicted.:laugh4::laugh4:
Only ignorant people drink coffee:wall::wall::clown:
My brother was also the 1 to introduce me 2 this website and this game.
Of course it is the taste...
@Grandpa Tarkus: Yes, that was I was getting from Atraphoenix too. What he says is just sad, really really sad.
I think that the biggest change that comes with age is time! (Inverse relationship). The rest is either in one's head or simply 'up to you'.
I simply hate that foul bitter taste that coffee has.
And I also detest the taste of cheap alcohol, I only like the good stuff, so even if I wanted to drink enough to become addicted(which I don't think I ever would) I wouldn't be able to afford to :laugh4:
Any who, back on topic, it seems that late teens, early 20's is the largest area so far.
I'm 18 and I'm a University student. And FINALLY some demographic survey or attempt at one!
49 going on 50, married 3 daughters my own company and like most of us "old timers" can guess most of your ages from your posts!:laugh4:
haha! how true... I never really get along with young kids. Everyone I know and hang out with is 20-30
Fifteen years old, in 11th grade. Absolutely no time for EB though. Since the end of Winter Break, I have played about 10 hours of EB. This whole summer I will be taking summer classes and Internet school for extra credits.
P.S. Notice the impeccable bell curve
Sixteen years of age, finishing up my 11th year, turning seventeen in July.
I'm rather ashamed to say that despite taking numerous difficult classes (2 A.P. courses and a few other Honors classes), I still manage to play about 2 hours of EB every weekday. On weekends, I manage about 4 to 5 hours. Don't take this as a statement of arrogance, though. Rarely do I get more than 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night due to my habits.
Umm, what grades do you have and what is the level of your school? I have community service, SAT, 2 AP, 2 DE classes (Dual-Enrolment, basically AP without the AP test, giving you a college credit upon passing of the class). And my GPA is 4.8 something. Which is going to rise after I take my summer school at the local college as well as after some Internet classes. Oh, and my school is a highly, selective, "A" school, which is public, but entirely privately funded. It is also a technical school, with numerous career fields to choose from.
46 :eeeek:
19 Represent'n
4.8 GPA? Strange, straight A's get only a 4.0 here. I have 4.07 (two A+) as a junior (11th grade) in high school. I also do some work for my local soccer association, along with getting paid as a referee on Saturdays (excellent money to be gotten here). I decided to skip on the dual-enrollment since although I can drive, my mother doesn't want me going anywhere by myself just yet. Plus, I'm not sure the university I plan on enrolling in would allow me to transfer those credits.
My school is simply a public school, though it can boast being the second largest (in terms of size, not students) in the state. The teachers are well-qualified, but the switch to a trimester schedule this year drove most of us insane. Idiotic administration...
If you take extra honours, AP, or DE classes, Frontline1944, then the .025 GPA will be added from each class to your overall GPA. I have met students with 5.1 GPA. Nothing special.
I have 2 AP classes and 1 Honors. Only 4.07, and that's because I have a few A+ currently. My school doesn't compensate for more rigorous classes, apparently.
Okay, perhaps you can tell me how my GPA should be in reality?
AP Chemistry - 96%
AP Gov - 96%
Spanish III - 97%
Honors Precalculus - 100%
Literature and Society - 103%
4.75?
Our school is a little different. We only offer AP/Honors, none of that other stuff you described. And the grades are weighted so A=5 points B=4 C=3 D/F don't get a weight. Meaning that if you took 6 AP classes for 4 years, and got A's in all of them you would have a 5.0. Also we don't weight based on + or -, it's just letter grade. That would explain why your GPA appears so high to me lol, because our Valedictorian has a 4.35. I have like a 4.01 or .02
Also our school is now implementing the idiotic idea of taking the AP test as a requirement for the inflated GPA, meaning that the students are basically paying 85$ for their grade (which is more ridiculous now as most UCs require a GPA of over 4 to get in)
I´m 19, and sometimes i feel like being an adult is too stressing and complicated... and wish to be a kid again :shame:
I'm at university in Britain and we have a completely different system to your GPA. Each uni (and department generally) can choose how the marking is done (exams, coursework/essays etc) and at the end you get a degree. This is classified either as an ordinary (very few people get this - in fact my uni would chuck me out if I got this grade in my upcoming frst year exams) or with honours (3rd class is bottom, then you have 2:2 lower second, 2:1 upper second and the best is a first class). They are talking about changing this as it is a bit illiogical at times (I mean why on earth do you need an upper second and lower second?).
Man with no name, looks like your on your own in the youngest category there. I got RTW a couple of months after release and I was older than that then (although only just)...
After reading this post I will finish third, I guess. I am 36:inquisitive:, soon it will be 37 in September:2thumbsup:.
Cheers.
I'm 25 but sometimes I feel like 52 instead. :sweatdrop:
32 here!
Never too old for a good game though;)
18, the wonderful age of media propelled hedonistic narcissism.
Mmm... nice bell curve.

Nice name.
Thanks, Joe...my secret is out. Just one of the oldies but goodies here on the forum that grew up listening to Emerson, Lake and Palmer for years.
And as another observant EB member reminded me awhile back...I am always watchful of the Manticore.
Well...thanks to me and my more "mature" colleagues on the high end of the dataset, and at the risk of statistical nerdiness -- I would argue this is a classic lognormal distribution.
19 - and already old, and with: paining knees, ankles, and back, a few slid discs, innumerable greensticks, callouses, scars from knives to cats to the pox, cronic dysentery, and a few silver hairs on me head; they of course promptly fall off, provideing a fortaste of what is to come. docs say life expectancy from birth = 40-47 years at this rate.
ain't life grand?:clown:
gosh I wish I was like all the other 19 year olds, with a car and conveniences aside from my laptop.
@Owen: listen to Tarkus-he's right. do not forget the power of lies, damn lies, and statistics-they are all important.
Cool bell curve.
Ummm, it should be called a "normal distribution", so get it right! Is it empirical distribution as well? I can't remember...
Ha ha ha ha, I want to be 19 again with the brain, self-confidence, charm and experience I have now. No knickers would be safe ;-)
Come to think of it, no legal knickers are safe...
Kids, enjoy your life, allow yourself to be young, believe in yourself and be yourself, and talk to and charm all the females you possibly can.
Vikings FTW!!!

Me 2008
well as the elderly like to say in this country
I'll be 20 my next birthday
Its because of the way I live; Its difficult:laugh4:
don't get me wrong, my family is good, and we aren't poor these days, but because of my station in the family, it gets ugly; on average, I have to go on foot every day 10-20 miles, often carrying up to50Lbs worth of stuff (books, coke, errands, etc), often in bad weather, and I forbid myself accepting rides, except from family. that of course will wear my joints down. It doesn't help that accidents are common; I actually injured my ankle the other day on the way home slipping on the wet grass in a gulley-tore my sandal up good as well:clown: . and unlike most of humanity, sprained ankles don't stop me-I just limp to work/errands and back home (apparently, pain doesn't get much at me).
the heavy weights, and an accident I had the day after my 18th birthday (go-cart hit a pole going 40mph :embarassed:), have hurt my back, and caused a few slipped discs.
I can't eat much (little time), and what little I can eat isn't checked for quality (fruits are a big worry), so my stomach is shot to shit-that, and I've always had that since childhood. a really bad case almost killed me when I was 6 months old. I actually lost weight in the 3 years I've been in the USA- about 130 lbs, and 5'11".
and remember, all this manual labor comes with the responsibilities of college (I've been on the dean's list three times :beam:) family (I'm the oldest male in the family now that dad is stuck in Kuwait), and the thump and bang of my hick brothers stres me out-and that gives me the slivers of silver hair. the only free time I have is on here (most of the time you see the light on my profile, I'm not actually there, as I leave regularly for a quick errand):clown:
and why all this shortens my life expectancy: I don't complain-ever; I haven't visited the doctor in 3 years-mostly because its too damn expenive here-and dental care is non-existence. my family doesn't even know, because I don't tell them. the docs I'm referring to are in fact known by writing, and the calculation given led to the short one. the funny thing is, in theory, I'm supposed to have a longer than average life at this rate-apparently, high IQ's and better sanitation in general are all I got.
in sum: I'm way too harsh on myself :clown:
however, I'm glad to say: I'm getting a car soon (I have a permit, and will soon get a license), so a good deal of the trouble will vanish,(plus I'm darn proud of "the tough life").:sweatdrop:
