Men - biological sex machines
"Men are biologically programmed to inseminate as many pretty women as possible."
^^What do you think of the above statement? Is it true or false and why? Does it mean a challenge to traditional family structure? How can a man dissolve the internal conflict between the biological need to spread his genes in as broad area as possible and the social need to found a family and stick to them?
-
Re: Men - biological sex machines
depends on the man.
some have sex as the only thing on their minds, others dont have it at all.
-
Re: Men - biological sex machines
"A woman needs a man, like a fish needs a bicycle."
Becoming truer day by day. Biological imperatives are rapidly being made irrelevant.
-
Re: Men - biological sex machines
Yes and no...
We all go through different stages in life...
Between 20-27 or so I took every opportunity I got with beautiful girls... And you get quit a lot as barkeeper and ski instructor.
However, after that I cooled down... Got more interested in trying to find something steady...
This last winter I didn't be with more than four of five girls, and since I have a GF now I only been with her since april :)

Re: Men - biological sex machines
On the other hand, why abstain from sex unless you are in a relationship?
-
Re: Men - biological sex machines
We are getting concerned about more and more men afraid to get into relationship, or try sex over here in Japan. Some even declared to stay virgin for their whole life.
Scientists are saying that at current rate, men will lose their function of inseminating, and women will have to adopt ways to give birth without mens help.
Soon, everyone will be a girl

Only the losers who makes 'em 'n runs after she bakes 'em. Real men just want the action but stick around when Spermy and Eggy actually meet for dinner.
The idiot biological father of my two girls is on family #3. He walked on my two, then two-years later walked out on another that was baking in the oven at the same time as he walked out on mine. Now he's getting married in a few weeks to another chick he knocked up. It's unbelieveable. And if you asked him he'd tell you he's an excellent father and role model.
I'd like to neuter him with my chainsaw in order to save future generations. :bomb2:

Re: Men - biological sex machines
I knew a gal who used to work in Child Services... sadly, such behavior is quite rampant. However, in the US, Child Services don't mess around with these types... they'll make sure that they're constantly broke, and if they're not working to pay off debts, then the hammer really comes down. Can't force em' to work, but you can force em' onto the streets.

I think we have the impulse, but I don't think that's all we are.
Frankly, right now I'm so fed up with all the hassle and none of the success, (as in none EVER!), a monastery is becoming increasingly attractive.

With some of the material that comes out of Japan, there are possible reasons for this.

hmmmm.... and then in the year 2149 the Robot Penis became widespread amongst the One Gender to give purpose to a singularity.

Re: Men - biological sex machines
Survival strategy.
Is it better to have 5 with a 20% chance of survival or 3 with an 80%. The wining strategy gets the most genes to the next generation. But the strategies aren't hard wired in, because the environment isn't static.
Nor is it just about the next generation, but setting up for generations. Those with the longest view do the best ultimately in most situations.
Sleeping around is not uncommon, but it isn't as common as families. Given that families take more time and resources one has to assume that the payoff is greater. That and then social tit for tat, more succinctly stated as "Sure you can date my daughter, but I'm watching you." Communities that trust and look after each other do better.
A lot of this though is null and void in a society that has the government as the main bread winner for some neo-nuclear families. When the bread comes from someone who isn't the parent, then a lot of parents shirk the responsibility back to society. This is sustainable on a small scale. But how great are those kids/families/neighbourhoods that in mass.
Far better when either the biological father or a role model steps up to the plate to be daddy.
Also got to remember it just ain't genes anymore its memes too.

When I was 19 or so, I tried my best to go through the entire female platoon in my training company. They were on the floor above us in the barracks. I got through about half. Looking back on it, I was pretty lucky that I didn't get one or more pregnant. I am in full agreement with the social rules of taking responsibility for any children you have a part in creating. Unrestricted insemination would soon become a disaster.

I think a basic misconception people have of evolution is that we evolved with some purpose, or evolved in some optimal way. Just because something would be the most effective at transmitting your genes doesn't mean we evolved to use that strategy. Biologically, men and women have sex drives, then eventually an urge to stay with a partner, then an urge to take care of their offspring. Ideally, we're a monogamous species. But usually we don't like each other enough to stick together.
People who make it a big deal to claim that men are biologically programmed to sleep around are usually using it as an excuse for cheating on their girlfriend.

Sex is vastly over-rated IMO, its the pereson you're with that makes it special. If it can't work without sex, then maybe it shouldn't work at all...

Dissagree, sex is a vital oil to a male-female relationship. No sex either means sexual tension, or no attraction.
Neither is good, the first kills friendships, the second relationships.
-
Re: Men - biological sex machines
I disagree, in the first case, you are correct, but the second I disagree.
I went out with a girl and while she is an attractive girl, I never wanted to do anything, I could barely make myself hold her hand on a date we went on.
Perhaps I am just not wise enough in the ways of the world yet.

So, you weren't attracted to her and you broke up? Doesn't that prove my point? She wasn't what you were looking for, part of which manifested as a lack of physical attraction.

Re: Men - biological sex machines
I guess he meant he was too attracted to her, and set her on some mental piedestal...
It's common among people with little or no sexual experience. Once you reach a 2 digit number you realise all girls are pretty much sluts, so no need to treat them like some divine being... in fact, if you do, you will lose out on that girl.

More likely just no chemestry. I've seen it in young men, they find women that are good propositions, but whom they are not actually attracted to.
All women are not sluts, some are promiscuous, others are actually chaste. Sorry to tell you this, some people never reach a two-digit number. I know from past conversations you find this hard to believe, but not everyone has the same attitude to sex.

Self control applies in these situations just like any other ones. What ever our biological tasks are. It is up to our own judgement what we do or not and live with the consequences of our decesions.

I never said I am not sluty :)
I dont mean slut in a bad way... just that, I found, girls have wayyyy more sluty tendencies than most men give them credit for.
A note to people with reading disorders: I wrote that all girls are pretty much sluts, not that all girls are prostitutes.
Or in the words of... I forgot: "most girls would never dream about doing the things they dream about doing".

Ok, so you're saying girls are secretly more kinky than they would admit to in polite conversation? Same as men?
That's a no brainer, "slut" however means promiscuous, unfaithful, not all women are, some are, but plenty aren't.
Same as men.

You do realise of course that certain environments will be more attractive to creating these kind of relationships.
While other environments will create a different set of outcomes.
Yes, I do realise that women are as sexual or more so then guys are. Guys are at a constant high hum, women tend to be far more cyclical.
Once a guy gets selected by a woman the guys are little more then deers in headlights. What most guys fail to do is put themselves in the light and spend the time as wallflowers.

All true, especially the last bit.

Re: Men - biological sex machines
Of all the things I hunt and eat, I don't hunt geese.....because they are monogomous for life and that makes me feel sorry for them.
Of course, if there were some way to ensure that I was only shooting the crabby, whiney, ruin-your-life-ryhmes-with-PUNT female then I would hunt them because it would make the poor, victimized male goose happy when he suddenly had his new-found freedom even if it meant never getting laid again because, hey, he's free oh nevermind

Uh... If she is ugly, dumb or just generally uninteresting most guys don't care if she selected him or not.
This winter I said no to very many girls trying their outmost, some of them very cute even. It's not like women have some super power, they just have boobs.
Now, a girl with beer-flavoured nipples... THAT would be irresistible :idea2:

Re: Men - biological sex machines
Yes and that is a key difference between boys/guys and men. The reservoir of self-respect in ones own ability, respect for others and the ability to say no.
Once you know who you are and don't feel the need to prove oneself, a guy generally stops trying to get his leg over everything that moves.
Its not that you can't, its that you know you can. No challenge, no game. And other challenges await... like monogamy for some.

Yup, and long-term monogamy is much more challenging than seduction. More rewarding, too. Funny how that works out.

If we were a bunch of jocks this wouldn't be questioned...
But on a computer games forum im sure you'll find plenty of people who find seduction far more challenging than monogamy...
For one monogamy just requires not doing something... seduction requires at the very least confidence and personality... then looks and money are the real hitters...
I have successfully practiced monogamy over quite a few months.... never quite managed seduction...

I agree, if you wake up next to the same face, the arguing, the time you get married and your wife forgot what love making is, especially once they have kids for 50 years, you must be good.

Very true, to the first, as to the second paragraph, I disagree. There is a very good chance that out of my friends (lets say 20) I'm still the only one to have had sex, however, I attribute that to the girl.
FYI I was 15 1/2 when I was on that date, legal age is 16, so wouldnt have been that much difference, plus she was a bit older than me.

Re: Men - biological sex machines
I think what Kadagar is trying to say is that women enjoy sex just as much as men do, look for it as much as men do, contrary to the popular belief that all men are pervs and all women are pretty flowers.
I'd agree with that. Love/sexual relations are still widely regarded through traditional glasses: the man has to flirt to get 'his' girl, and said girl will wait for the man because she doesn't 'need' to have sex like a man does.
ie. The man is driven by his sexual instincts, contrary to the woman. This is, according to my personal experience, a whole lot of BS.
-
Re: Men - biological sex machines
Past experience indicates Kadagar thinks all women are unfaithful, promiscuous, based on his anecdotes.

I just remember the topic you posted a while back, where you said you'd rather spit in a woman's mouth during sex than kiss her, because you had so little respect for women in general.
Now though, you're in love and it seems to have infected and lessened your cynicism.

Philipvs Vallindervs Calicvla>>> You got me wrong. I always had the deepest respect for anyone, however, I dont respect monogomy (sp?) very much.
Regarding spitting in a girls mouth, that's more like a trick in the "multiple orgasms" category. Don't take what I write too seriosly when I want to upset frigid americans ;)
Yes I have a GF now... That however does not make me less cynical, given she previosly should have married another guy about now... However, after a ski tripp to the alps she changed her mind about the wedding :)

Well, that's not how it read at the time. What disturbs me is that you seem to have no problem breaking up relationships, granted it takes two to Tango, but still... Seems to me you don't like people who are monogomous and you have actively worked to break up relationships in the past. The priests wife and the newlywed you mentioned before both spring to mind.
Oh, and I did get the reference about the spitting thing, but you still said it was because you didn't respect women any more.

From my point of view I just save time... I think it's better people realise their relationship is wrong as soon as possible, rather than after having kids and stuff.

I just think you're not giving people enough credit. You're obviously quite good at propositioning women. Have you ever considered that they were just going through a rough patch and you were the wrong temptation at the wrong time?
Lots of people consider cheating on someone they love for a whole lot of really bad reasons. When presented with the temptation some of them do it, and feel auful afterwards.
-
Re: Men - biological sex machines
The bit I find funny, is the sentence about cheating/one-night stands/get johnny some action is justified because they would have done it anyway. I am sure they jumped into a really good stable and loving relationship that lasted a long-time afterwards with Kadagar.

A) Girl (or boy) is in a relationship.
B) Girl (or boy) finds someone better.
C) Girl (or boy) realise her partner is not what she need.
Does it really matter if the specific object that made her realise this is what she needs or not? does it matter if they stay together?
No, it just shows she or he has more to bargain for.

I didn't know ski instructors/bartenders are also trained and qualified relation therapists.
In your casual sex thread, you claimed that you had slept with women who were either married or in a long lasting relationship with children.
You can explain and avoid all you want, but through your actions you are at least partially responsible for a lot of pain and misery. I hope that one day you will be able to face that and deal with it, as it seems that you are now still in some sort of denial phase.
Or was that whole thread also "not to be taken too seriously" and intended "to upset frigid americans "?

No, I equate your amoral abuse of your (internet-boasted) seduction abilities, and your unwillingness to take any responsibility for your actions with a sociopath. Do you acknowledge that you have any obligation to behave like a higher life form?
You posts about how seducing married or attached women is really doing a service to society ... that's what sticks in my throat. The level of amorality and rationalization displayed sickens me.

You take no account of temporary lapses in judgement.
You break up relationships and you claim you're doing people a service?
I believe in love, sincerely, but I also believe in screwing up. If even one of those women just made a mistake then you could have ruined her life.
I know I have messed up, are you telling me you never have? Ever? Not once?
This has little or nothing to do with society at large.

You posts about how seducing married or attached women is really doing a service to society ... that's what sticks in my throat. The level of amorality and rationalization displayed sickens me.

Did I get you right? Anything I missed?
Again I *bow* to your wisdom and level of discussion.
When you want a serious debate without insults and stuff I welcome you to PM me.
Back on topic?
EDIT: PVC, again, obviosly you don't believe in love :)
A hint, if I am in love there are no "lapses in judgement" or "screwing up".

Re: Men - biological sex machines
Still no taking responsibility?
You are completely unwilling to accept that they might not have broken up with their partner, that they might have gone on to be happy?
I think, frankly, this is pertenant to the topic. I would not try to break up a relationship just for a one night stand.
So it would seem I am fundamentally different to you with regard to how I deal with my sexuality.

You argue that ignorance is a bliss?
You argue that if they had not met a better guy; they would have gone on to be happily with the poor excuse for a guy they were in a relationship with?

If a women decides a one-night-stand is worth more than her relationship with her poor partner, who am I to say she is wrong?
If I on the deathbed could choose between one ood night and a thousand bad ones I'd go with the former. You don't believe she should have that choice?

Yes you are indeed :)
So why don't we embrace the diversity and be thankful that there are other perspectives?
As a sidenote: This is a internet forum dedicated to a strategic game...
Does anyone think there would be a difference if this was a table talk at the ski school bar after closening hours?

Re: Men - biological sex machines
I fear that this thread has been seduced away from it's former topic, and the divorce has caused a lot of angry bad feeling.
Time to be sent to therapy.
