Yup.
It is legal to buy weed. Certain types of mushrooms were forbidden, they are called paddo's in Dutch (from the word "paddestoel", which means mushroom)
You can use weed:
-At home
-At certain designated places (in cannabis coffee shops, as they are called)
I heard that is is actually illegal, but the authorities don't actually prosecute. That is being the difference.
In Portugal, it is actually legal.

Nope, tourists love asking them for a light. It's really not that complicated, it's illegal, but the law isn't enforced, so you can do as you please. But don't think about smoking one on a commercial terras, or where there are many kids, that is not done, you will be asked to leave. In parks, streets, beaches, no problem.Quote:

i was told by my tour guide in italy that they will lock you up for one joint.
he was from rome, so i took his word for it and didnt try to buy any weed.
You shouldn't buy any weed in a city like Rome, or any city you don't have connections in for that matter. They just go to an alley or something out of plain view, wait for you to take out your money, then they grasp it, take their knives out or just plainly run away. In fact it's better not to even buy weed on the street at all. Weed from the street is usually junk anyway. With chemicals and glass on it.Quote:

Yupp small bits of glass to look like it'd have more THC crystals. It's quite bad for you're lungs but, it's not like you'll die from a few joints with the glass crystals though. It's still relatively clean compared to what people put in hard drugs.Quote:

Also another thing to make it all cheaper is to take a tent and camp. There are lots of campsites around Holland.
Campsites are pretty expensive, in a country like the Netherlands people pay good money for a little bit of quiet. Totally agree with not buying weed in the centre, should be tourist common sense. Haarlem is very close to Amsterdam, greatlooking town, good coffeeshops. Don't skip the red lights destrict, it's the prettiest part.
There is only one coffeeshop that i want to visit in Amsterdam and that is the GREY AREA, because it is owned by american Expats. I hear that the Grey Mist Strain that they carry is very good as well.Quote:

Well yeah, you don't put any tabac in a blunt after all. But no you can't smoke tabaco. Where I live the smoking ban is just ignored, but Amsterdam is a socialist town and that means ABSOLUTE CONTROL. It's just not a very fun city anymore, can't even drink a beer standing (for whatever reason as I said it's a socialist town) because the owner of the establishment will be fined, if a bar gets caught multiple times he must close his door for a week, and because it is a socialist town the stasi is everywhere, photographing everyone from their blinded cars. Very hard for the owners, you try explaining people that it is VERBOTEN to drink while standing.
