Epeiros was the custom battle map "Temple of Zeus".

Very nice, I especially like the AS and Ptolemaioi ones at the wonders. You should do a Romani one panning out on a fully deployed Republican consular legion from the front.

EDIT: Just set the Ptolemaioi one as my wallpaper, looks awesome.

The Getai wallpaper made logging onto the forums at 1:20am totally worth it. :2thumbsup: Have a well-earned :balloon2:.

looking at these makes me giddy for EB2

I especially like the Arche Seleukeia and Imperial Roman ones, they capture the spirit of both factions well :beam:

AS has one of the best wallpapers, imo.

I like the ones for the Romani, particularly the Imperial one, the Baktrian one, and the Ptolemaic one.

Thanks again for the input, I really didn't use GIMP for anything but to add the shaded ("cartoon") effect, no other editing done on my part besides cutting and pasting the unit labels, so I can't claim any credit for prowess there. Most of it was just picking the right backgrounds and then positioning the units and such in a way to make the pics look exciting.

These are wonderfull!

Yep, I just added them to my loading screens too, looks great.

If I may add a little constructive criticism on the Arverni wallpaper, I don't like the fact that the Teceitos are mixed together with the Neitos, as that makes them look rather disorderly and clumsy. I would also like to see more shields, since I have, well, shall we say a "more or less" perverted attraction to them (especially the shields used by the Noricene Gaecori, I might add), and the more of them the merrier, I say. Finally there's a group tag from the UI left in the bottom of the picture which, if nothing else, should be removed.

If you would do these changes, I would probably "swallow it with flesh and hair", as we say here in Sweden. Until such a time that it's changed, though, I will use the Getian wallpaper instead. That one is great. (Though, if I'm allowed to be a perfectionist, you could improve it even further by cropping out a tiny bit more from the bottom of the Getai faction banner.) :2thumbsup:

Good catch on the group tab Celtic Viking, it's been edited out and re-uploaded!

The units are mixed just for the sake of getting them all into the pic from the front, those Celt units are just way too pretty to go for backside shots.

If it's shield pics you want, I'll try to get some up for you sometime soon. I love the EB shields as well.

Wow, these are incredible. I really like how most of the factions have their units lined up nicely but in the Sauromatae one the horse archers are stampeding across the steppe and in the Getai one the Drapanai are charging forward falxes raised. It's a nice contrast to the other factions. The ones at the hanging gardens of Babylon and the pyramids are awesome too.

My favorite one is the KH wallpaper ... i know such deep phallanx formations are not realistic but it is a very powerful image!!! there must be some thousands hoplites in it with their shields and spears pointed- a very intimidating sight indeed ...gives us an idea of the meatgrinder phallanx was :smash:

The deep lines gave me an excuse to cram in more units while keeping as much close up detail as possible ( and including the bodyguard hoplites, elites, and classicals all together) and going well beyond the 8 men deep ranks also IMO made the pic look better by not having a bunch of non-photogenic empty ground behind them ;)

What resolution are they? I use 1024*768, but your wallpapers say they are 1024*816...

If I could change anything I would make the Agema more central in the Bactrian wallpaper, they are without a doubt the most beautiful unit in eb.

The only other change is that the getai wallpaper lacks variation, for a faction that has one of the most varied unit rosters I only see two units...
