Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow [Concluded]
In honor of talk like a pirate day, I decided to do a remake of the "gunfight at the ok corral" game with a pirate theme. I did some tweaks to the fighting system so that it won't be over so quickly.
**********************************
The Admiral Benbow, a small inn located in a small town, was mainly frequented by seafarers. Sometimes it housed pirates, sometimes British officers.
https://img6.imageshack.us/img6/1693...wmentioned.jpg
Tonight, by unfortunate chance, it housed both. At first they kept a sort of uneasy truce, making show of their weapons but not attacking. But then one of the officers saw one of the pirates acting in a quite inappropriate manner with one of the wenches. He called him a lowly cur, and the pirate captains parrot called him a lowly cur right back and a fight broke out.
https://img6.imageshack.us/img6/5797...gformutiny.jpg
The innocent bystanders who were just attempting to have a quiet drink rushed for the exit, and when the opened the door a thick fog blew in.
Ok, so that's the best excuse I could come up with for people not knowing who is who
Looking for 9-13 people. No night or day periods, actions are taken in the thread, I'll post the results when I check the thread.
Signed up(11):
taka(?)
Tratorix
Lord Winter
atheotes
GeneralHankerchief
Beskar(?)
White Eyes
AVSM
slashandburn

Double A
I'll put up the fighting system explanation in a minute, when I've worked out the precise details.

i just saw the 2 hours thing aswell :( no wep wep wep for me
sorry but imma have to pull out as im going to sleep soon

Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I probably won't start the game until tomorrow. At least until I have 11 people.
I might also make the interval longer. Maybe 6 hours. Don't want to make the game too long, but it shouldn't completely come down to who is online when. I think 6 hour will be good.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
can we send orders in early?
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
There is no sending of orders, it's all in the thread. And you don't have to be here every six hours. If you get attacked you will try and block automatically, and then if you happen to check with in six hours you can counterattack. Otherwise you can just try and do a regular attack.

Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
In as long as you don't start the game at 2:30 EST.

Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Huh?
Well I'm gonna be at a college watching a play from 2:30 to whenever it ends, so yeah that could be a few hours.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
OK, sending out pm's (assuming that those who signed up but withdrew because of the 2 hour deadline and having to leave still want to play).
Different roles have different abilities, but basically you can attack someone with your weapon once every six hours. The exception being if you are fighting someone, they block your attack and you block their counterattack, you can counterattack without waiting six hours. They have a certain % chance to block (this is done automatically whether they are present or not). If block is successful, then they can counterattack with a higher chance of success. If hit, they can't do anything for six hours and lose 1/3 of their fighting ability. 3 hits and you die, 2 hits and you have a chance at being mortally wounded and dying even if you survive the fight. You will have some creative leeway with how you attack someone, but it has to be with the weapon I give you in your role pm. There aren't bolded code words that you have to post like "Attack:Sasaki, instead you say something like "stabs sasaki with sword" or however you want to say it, as long as it uses your weapon.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Pm's sent, game has started.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I stab General Hankercheif with my sword. En guarde! :duel:
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I block with my cutlass and attempt to counterattack.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Peering through the fog, Tratorix sees another man with a sword and stabs at him recklessly. GeneralHankerchief deflects the blade with his own sword, kicks tratorix in the kneecap and hacks his shoulder with his cutlass.

Oww, my shoulder. :laugh4:
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Now, does the successful counterattack mean I can't attack for another six hours or can I go for Tratorix again?
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
You are both out for six hours. You are still able to block if attacked however, while he is not.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
*GH calls out loudly in the tavern that there's a punching bag here that's ready for some action for the next six hours, and to come and get some.*
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
En guarde! En guarde! punching bag! punching bag!
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I slash at the punching bag....oops... I slash at Tratorix with my cutlass
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Tratorix, still reeling from the wound to his shoulder, is slashed across the back by atheotes' cutlass. He fallso to his knees, blood pouring.

Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Winks at all the men in the room, before walking over to tratorix and flashing some cleavage at him.
Need some help?
Keeps tratorix occupied.
OOC: Since I can't technically finish him, I can do this!
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Tratorix, though still reeling from his wounds, was nevertheless completely distracted by the sight of splitpersonality standing in front of him. He grinned foolishly and tried to say something funny.

So that means I can't attack, during the time when I already couldn't attack? I fail to see the purpose. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going back to bleeding to death.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I throw my sword at atheotes in a show of pirate baddassery/idiocy

You won't be able to even after you recover from the shock of your wounds.

Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
AVSM reaches for his sword, but finds he doesn't have a sword. So instead he pretends to throw a sword and says "schwing--hugkdugh--aaaaargh". Atheotes is impressed by his sound effects but unharmed.

:laugh4: He has taka syndrome.
-

AVSM! AVSM! taka syndrome! taka syndrome! :laugh4: :laugh4:
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I stab Tratorix with my sword:duel:
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Tratorix, still distracted by splitpersonality's gesturing, died with a smile on his face when White_eyes stabbed him through the heart.
He was the British Captain
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I give tratorix a little smooch, the brit's are awfully nice guys after all.
I turn my attention to AVSM, I whip out my pistol and begin firing at him.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Splitpersonality makes the rather revolting decision to give the bloodied dead guy a kiss, then points her finger at AVSM and says "pew pew pew". He finds this gesture adorable and can't stop staring.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I mosey my way over to AVSM and hang off of him for a little while. I'm sure he doesn't mind anyway.
-

spanks him with the cutlass and tells him "now, run to your mommy"
I am assuming i cannot counter attack since i have already attacked someone.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
*dashes up to splitpersonality spearing her through the heart, "Back foul thing".
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
No!
Whimpers and puts on a big sad face, looking at slashandburn
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
slashandburn dashes up to splitpersonality and tries to stab her in the heart with a spear. He doesn't seem to realize that he has no spear, and ends up awkwardly poking her chest. Embarressed, he mutter something like "foul thing".
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I meant spearing through the heart with a sword i.e. sword poking out of other side of person.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I lose all interest in AVSM, and tackle Slashandburn, assaulting him with my breasts.
How dare you!
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
slashandburn tries to stab splitpersonality through the heart with his sword, missing by a few inches he none the less gives her a serious wound.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Argh fine then.
Splitpersonality looks at slashandburn, attempting to woo him into helping with the wound he just inflicted.
I.E. "Won't someone please help me?"
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
slashandburn suddenly feels great guilt for what he has done. He drops his sword and starts tending to splits wounds.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Someone, stab him while he is distracted, please! ;-;
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Stab slashandburn with my cutlass.
Booyah.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
GeneralHankerchief stabs slashandburn with his cutlass. It's a bit of an awkward move, considering cutlasses are not designed for stabbing, but it does significant damage nonetheless.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Double A goes at White Eyes with his Rapier.
Next time you should do one of these in the Medieval Ages!
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Double A lunges at White_eyes with his sword. White_eyes attempts to block, but is not able to deflect the blade which goes clean through his left arm.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
slash slashandburn with my cutlass
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
atheotes gashes slash's chest open with his cutlass.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Stab Double A with my sword:duel:
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
You'll be incapacitated for a while White_eyes.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I throw my cutlass at atheotes. If that doesn't work, I try and punch him in the gut.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
You didn't mentioned anything about that...:inquisitive:
I know my arm is messed up....but it's just a flesh wound:furious3:
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
AVSM throws his cutlass at Atheotes. It goes 3 inches into his thigh and he screams in pain.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
How long am I wasted for??:furious3:
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
.... Am I allowed to take it back?
Or do I spend six hours doing so?
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
White_eyes, it will be 6 hours since you wound. AVSM, no takebacks. I mean, after six hours you can pluck the sword out and use it, but you can't unthrow it.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
So you mean, I can't attack for six hours after he attacked me??...isn't that a little unbalanced? he can just attack me again, in six hours as well...:juggle2:
I hate to rant about this...but I don't really get what is going on and why I can't attack after being injured..
-

Because otherwise you would have just attacked you three times and you'd be dead before you even read the thread? 6 hours in the thread is like 6 seconds in the fight, it has to be.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
So just to finally sort this out....you mean to say I would need to be quicker and more lucky to post right away in order to beat him?:book:
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Yup, he attacked first and I rolled the dice on your block attempt and you missed.
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
I'm thinking this game should have just had a basic Stab: so and so command, since two people have missed turns due to Sasaki being picky over the wording. A sword and a cutlass are pretty close to each other. Although that was pretty funny. :laugh4:
-
Re: Pirate fight at the Admiral Benbow
Stab Double A with my sword:duel:
