Netherworld II [Concluded]
https://i182.photobucket.com/albums/...erworld2-2.png
For many millenia, the Worlds were at peace. The world of the Gods oversaw the world of Humans. The just and righteous souls would go to the world of the Gods when they died. Those souls who were not just and righteous would be sent to the World of the Demons, or the Netherworld. There, they served their punishments for their time upon the World of Humans. When their punishment was complete, the soul awaited reassignment to the world of Humans in Purgatory. The cycle continued, and all was well.
Until the ruler of the Netherworld declared he would no longer be subordinate to the grand process. A great raid was launched on the world of Humans. Demons claimed the souls of all they could find, without regard to their righteousness. When it was finished, a great number had been claimed. The World of Gods would not stand for such a violation, and agents were dispatched to the Netherworld to reclaim the souls. The lord of the Netherworld knew this would happen, and prepared. What had not been accounted for, however, was betrayal. The guardian to one of the few entrances to the Netherworld, Hades, abandoned his post. The agents of the Gods made their way through the Styx River without notice. The Gods instigated a great turmoil in the Netherworld, as the community of demons panicked to account for their presence.
When the dust settled, the Gods were slain. They had failed their orders. The souls taken during the great raid were not recovered. Yet, it was not a total loss for the Gods. During the chaos, the Netherworld was forever changed. Hades overthrew his master, and declared himself the new ruler of the Netherworld. Further, the Gods had not been idle during the chaos. During his coup, Hades lost the narrow grip he held over his previous realm, the borderlands between the realm of humans, and the Netherworld. When spies from the world of the Gods reported a vacuum of authority, and while the Netherworld had its attention occupied, the Gods sent forth an expedition to secure the borderlands to extend a buffer of control against the Netherworld.
Sparsely populated, inhabited mostly by wandering, lost spirits and the occasional malevolent demon, the key strategic points of the borderlands proved easy to subjugate. The Gods quickly set up their largest encampment just outside of the entrance to the Styx River. As the Styx stood as the largest of the three entrances to the Netherworld, the Gods quickly attended to its fortification. Going beyond mere military matters, a small-scale government was established, to ensure management of affairs. The Gods sent out agents to impress all manner of spirit and demon it possibly could, as a brace for possible conflict. At the head of the encampment stood the Governor-General. For a time, it seemed that all was going as well.
Of course, not all were happy to hear of this success. Following his coup, Hades' victorious mood turned sour quickly upon hearing that his old home had been annexed. Diplomacy, and the fragile state of his new rule, prevented him from outright demanding the removal of the encampment; it had, after all, been seized during the previous ruler's reign, and he was not entitled to the lost possessions of his predecessor. Despite continued “insistence” to the world of Gods that he be given the borderlands back, he never met success. For a time, this uneasy peace continued. But neither the Gods nor Hades would be fool enough to think it could last...
Rules:
NO QUOTING HOST'S PMS, NO QUOTING CHATLOGS, NO SCREENSHOTS, NO ALTERNATE ACCOUNTS, AND NO TRANSLATING PM'S-You may claim whatever you want, including role name, so long as you don't quote my PM's word for word, or very close to word for word.
The dead cannot reveal anything, including previous night actions, but they may participate as much as they want to contribute to general discussion. The dead also may not communicate outside the thread in any way, shape, or form relating to this game, be it via PM, chat, quicktopic, or other.
I do not allow Vote: No Lynch as an option. Period. You may abstain, however.
If you wish to take back a vote, you CANNOT do it by editing a previous post. I will not count it. Period. You must unvote:PlayerX in order to recant the previous vote. In order to vote for someone, you must do so in the usual Vote:Yaseikhaan style. Votes must be bolded, for reference.
WOGs will occur if a person does not vote 3 rounds in a row, or if they do not vote in 4 rounds in total. Please, please don't make me WOG you. It won't be a pretty death.
Suicides will only be allowed in the event of a person being very much unable to participate in the game. I do not allow suicides for any other reason.
No links to anything outside of this thread. Period. I don't care if it pertains to something completely irrelevant.
It would be very helpful for the sake of my sanity if player's kept a tally running.
DON'T MESS WITH THE TALLY! If I determine ANYONE is intentionally misrepresenting the tally, I WILL wog the offender immediately.
Voting periods will be 24 hours, though I may occasionally extend it to 36 if necessary.
Any ties in voting will await someone to break it. First vote to either person who is tied will result in lynch, regardless of any posts after it.
Roles:
There's going to be a good variety of roles. I will confirm that that there will be at least two doctors. I will not confirm the presence of any other exact roles as of now, except that they do exist. I am planning for four mafioso, if I get my goal of 40 players.
I'M LOOKING FOR FORTY PLAYERS, SO PLEASE JOIN! I can go a bit over forty, but no more than forty five at most.

Regardless of how quick slots might fill up, the game will not start for about a week, due to holidays.

Re: Netherworld II (Signups)
I will join this game, as it is pretty much mandatory to join Yaseikhaan games. :2thumbsup: Just don't expect my usual yakety yak. (39 players sigh in relief)
Also, I promised to help spread the word about this game, and so I shall... somehow... do that. Send me a message detailing who you've invited so far, Yaseikhaan, and I'll get to it from there.

One of my christmas presents this year was a ski trip that'll last for about a week and during which I'll have no computer. So unless your game doesn't start until Jan. 1 or you don't mind me being inactive until then, I'll have to drop. Sorry

Jan 1? Shouldn't be much of a problem. I'm not starting up for about 4 days or so, so there shouldn't be much of a problem.

Re: Netherworld II (IN PLAY)
A Very Super Market was doing his rounds on a patrol outside of the god's compound. In the outwards bounds of the complex stood a large cavern complex. Some had been explored, but much had not. Curiosity got the better of him when he heard a slight crumbling from inside. Cautiously, he stepped into the mouth of the cave. A fork split oddly early in the cave. While he was pondering right or left, a sudden pressure evoked itself around his neck. A rope tightened, then pulled backwards with great force. AVSM was yanked clear off his feet, onto his back, and drug several feet. Still struggling against the rope, he saw, for a moment, his captor. A red humanoid, sitting oddly serenely on the top of a water buffalo, held the lasso in its left hand, and a spear in its right. With a simple jab, it thrust the spear straight into AVSM's face, ending what little struggle there had been. Whistling to itself, the killer turned its steed around, dragging its quarry with.
"How dull... how terribly, awfully dull...." thought Khazaar. He sat at a table, deep in the compound. "Administrative duty, what luck to be assigned this..." There was a knock at the door to his front. "In," he told the visitor. When there was no response for about ten seconds, he repeated himself, only louder. He got off his chair, irritated, and walked towards the door. Upon his hand touching the knob, the door exploded with force. The visitor had lowered it's shoulder and charged through the door, splintering it and knocking Khazaar back. It snarled angrily, swinging a knife into Khazaar's shoulder. Taking advantage, it tackled Khazaar to the floor, jaws snapping into his face, the knife being brought to bear repeatedly into his torso. The butchery continued well past the point Khazaar had ceased resisting, lasting for nearly 10 minutes as the intruder carved the body beyond recognition.....
There was more than one who was not amused. White eyes sat in a chamber room, meditating. To be doing nothing, just sitting there, it was quite frustrating. Try as he might, his meditation was not helping. On the contrary, sitting in one position only gave him more time to think on how frustrating the whole situation was. He peeked an eye open when he heard heavy footsteps approaching the opening to the chamber. The intruder was heavily armed; bronze armor, a helmet, shield, and spear. White eyes couldn't help but grin. He got up from his position, walked over to his weapon rack, and grabbed a scimitar.
"So, what are you up to?" He asked his uninvited guest. "I suppose you're probably here to vanquish me, no?" The intruder gave a mighty yell, then rushed forward, shield raised as a battering ram, spear tucked under it as a lance. White eyes chuckled. He rolled to his left to avoid the coming force, grabbing a bench with one hand and throwing it. The intruder halted its momentum, raised the shield and deflected it. Only to be faced with the rushing White eyes, who brought the scimitar in a left sweeping, downward arc. The intruder raised ducked, while raising its spear to block the weapon. With its opponent's stance temporarily opened, the intruder delivered a kick to White eye's chest, knocking him backwards. The intruder took the initiative, bring its spear to bear, thrusting towards the off balance foe. White eyes managed to bring the scimitar down on the spear thrust, knocking the weapon down, but the intruder kept the pressure up, bringing the edge of its round shield in a right sweeping motion. The edge caught White eye's in the shoulder, knocking him into a splayed position on the ground. Without hesitation, the intruder thrust it's spear down on the vulnerable White eyes, who managed to roll enough to avoid the weapon planting in his chest. However, it still caught his left leg, and white eyes howled in pain. The intruder jammed the weapon harder, forcing it through the floor and trapping White eyes to place. It unsheathed the short, curved sword hanging from its belt. It brought the weapon down in an overhand arc down on white eyes, who manged, with both hands, to block and hold it off. Finally, the intruder swung it's shield in a side to side motion, making direct contact with White eye's scimitar, knocking it several feet away. A pained, spiteful look was all that White eyes could muster at this point. It would be the last that he would do before the intruder brought its sword down for one final blow....
The assembly meeting the morn' was not a pleasant one. Governor-General Yasei received reports of the carnage from the night before. A guard missing, two rooms destroyed or damaged, and at least two more attacks. A call was issued to all security and administrators. Governor-General Yasei stood atop a dais so all could here his voice in the council chamber.
"Everyone! We have strong reason to believe the Netherworld is already here! Not an army, as we expected, but assassins. Or worse. We know little at the time, other than that malevolent purposes are at work." There was a bit of nervous chatting in the crowd. "We believe the agents of the Netherworld are here, now, in this very room. Look to the one to your left, and the one to your right. They may be demons hiding amongst us." The nervous chatter became quite a bit louder at that proclamation. That is why I must now entrust YOU to help me find these assassins. I cannot know all of you. But you all know each other. Present to me the one you have discovered amongst yourselves, and we shall end this threat! We shall end it here and now!"
And with that, the the accusations flew....
