Swords and D20's Minimafia: The City of Doors [Concluded]

Another mini mafia. need to get this out of the way before my Small mafia game. I hope the setting is not getting old for any of you.... :sweatdrop: I promise no 2 of my games will be alike. (probably.... :juggle2:)

Ahhhh Sigil, the city of doors! The hub of the outer planes, and one of the greatest cities ever! A sprawling mess, it is situated on the inner side of the outer planes Spire. Sunlight never reaches this strange ringed city, only a strange light glow premates the air. Thousands bustle through its streets, people off all races and groups. Dwarfs stand by Drow, who stand by Archons and Devils. All converge in this great city. Our newest story has a little change of scenery! Far from Nowhere our party has converged, Gesundheits Delvers. Always hunting for a way to save their trapped companion, the group has traveled to sigil hoping that here they can finally find a lead to freeing there wizard friend. However…. Little do they realize that it is simply a setup. A sham to let an old enemy get her final revenge. Haley has been trying for years to finally end her old companion Roy, and her quest has turned into an obsession. When the Delvers and herself are trapped in a tavern from Sigil, who’s quest would be ending, and how?

Haley floated an inch above the ground, her lower body a patchwork of smoke formed into a rudimentary leg shape. Her face was a deep sirk as she stared down at a group of 4 men working their way through the city streets. They laughed and slapped each other’s backs as they walked, obviously in good spirits. Reonk walked to her side, his face a blank sheet with features, his disguises all having been shed.
“You’re risking a lot with this Haley….. The margin of error is huge.” He sounded concerned, his small beady eyes trained on Haley.
“Yes, but think of the delicious irony? What would make my revenge as great than to beat them at there own game? Twice they have been placed into a situation of this type, and both times they have succeeded. This time, when they fail, they will know exactly my rage. They will lose ALL hope before me, and only then will I kill them.” Haley shivered at the thought, her tongue licking her lips “It will be simply Delicious…. Worth every second of wait.”
Reonk sighed “As you wish then. Everything is going according to plan. The party is headed towards the tavern, where I have already established everything for our arrival and theirs.”

Haley nodded, till staring down at the party “Perfect. Then we are all set.”
Reonk looked at her strangely “Haley….. What is going to happen if you do succeed? What will you do? Where will you go?”
The wraith looked disconcerted at the question “What? I….. I’m not sure. I have never given it any thought before. Why in the nine hells would you ask me a silly question like that?” Haley scowled at the doppelganger before turning and walking off “come on, we need to go to the tavern.” Reonk smilled at her before following

Blackadder had been a bit doubtful of his new teacher’s skills, he will admit that. One does not expect sorcerers of any skill to come from the Halfling stock after all. But she was the real deal after all, and he was sure she could teach him to better control and use his own sorcerous talent.
“Now, I am feeling famished and parched, I would like to head to a tavern. Your buying by the way, the least you can do for the time I am wasting tutoring your talentless :daisy:” Blackadder smiled and nodded, falling in step behind the small Halfling women.
They walked through the city streets, Vicky babbling about some obscure aspect of enchantment magic, and Blackadder could not help but smile. Things were looking a lot better than before at least! He stared ahead towards the Oaken reach tavern, and his jaw almost dropped to the ground. There, no more than 100 feet ahead of him, was a group of people he had never expected to ever see again. He looked at Schism and AVSF, and Isamu with fear in his eyes…. This could only mean one thing…. The Plot had finally caught up to him. God :daisy: being recurring NPC’s, its like the gods are trying to get you brutally maimed!
“Come on you big oaf! Into the bar!” Vicky slapped Blackadders rump, and he moved into the bar, his eyes still trained on the party of adventurers headed this way.

Stupid plot….. Never did anything good for him before…….

“Did your contact say why we have to meet them in this particular bar Isamu?” Roy looked around warily “Need I remind you the Gehenna incident?” He scowled slightly, still looking a bit paranoid.

Isamu sighed “Roy, how many times are we going to bring that up? I said I was sorry, but the women assured me the noodles were still fresh! No one could have foreseen what that Daemon would do!”

AVSF cut in, his lute out and strumming “In retrospect it is a pretty funny story though. I mean come on, Schism could not sit down for a month!” He laughed and started singing a country song.

Schism cut in, looking annoyed “we all agreed never to talk about Gehenna. Don’t break that promise.”

The entire group had long since stopped moving forward, being right outside there destination.
Isamu rubbed his hands together, sounding nervous “Alright, we go in, talk with the contact, stay alert. And then get out with our intel. All very quiet like. Roy you cover the entrence, anyone comes in looking funny than you flank ‘em. AVSF….. Just stand by the bar, if we need anything dead we will call you.”
AVSF smiled “Cool.”
“Schism, you cover me while I talk with the con tact. Keep an eye on Roy in case he needs help.” Isamu looked around everyone got that?”

AVSF nodded and spoke “Alright then old chums, lets do this!” He charged into the bar, his lute still out and pointed like a weapon before him “LEEEERRRRRROOOOOYYYYYY!”
Roy sighed “ever since he became a bard It has been nothing but Meme after Meme…. I can’t take this guys.”
“True, but he could go on talking about the Plot again…… That might just be worse…..” Isamu shudders.
“Come on you two, let’s go!”

Reonk Watched the PC’s enter the tavern, grinning. “We are all set for the grand reveal Haley.”

The Wraith smiled “Excellent. Just one more thing to do then.” She reached to the ground, picking up a bracer. He incorporeal hands grew solid as the cool bronze touched her, and when she put the thing around her arm her body became tangible and corporal. She touched the ground with her feet in for the first time in decades. She smiled even wider “it works.”

Reonk bowed “I assured you it would. Very good wizard made it, cost a fortune.”

Haley grinned like a child “then let us begin.” She started striding towards the Taverns front door, Reonk following beside her.

The Oaken reach was having a slow day. Then again, the bartender thought, every day here was pretty slow. He shrugged and began wiping a glass with his rag, only looking up when the party of adventurers entered the room. PC’s, that means lots of cash, the man thought with a grin.

But the next group that walked in…. Not sure what that was? Looked like a pair of Adventurers, but one was obviously a doppelganger. Weird. But the bartender just shrugged, weirder things have walked through his doors here in sigil.
Roy froze when he felt almost a chill in the air around him, and he turned around puzzled.
He wasn’t ready for what he saw…..
Haley was standing, looking as alive as could be expected, that doppelganger friend of hers at his side.
“oh.” Was all he could say before the room blackened with magical darkness. Two screams pierced out and the entire bar erupted in a kind of panic. It was 2 minutes before the light came back on, the door was locked and everyone looked like they were OK. All seven stood around, looking shocked and standing ready for a fight.

But nothing appeared changed…. Except a small note on the bar counter. It read in neat letters the following.

Twice you have played and succeeded, but now you face the greates opponent of all. The door opens when both I and my friend are dead, and we will only leave when you are all dead. We have taken control of 2 of the people in the bar, now find us. Most should know the rules by now. So hop to it, before you are all dead.

Andre had noticed the entry of the Haley woman when she first entered the tavern. With a looker like that, its hard not to notice. He'd have to say, she was definitely the best looking of the bunch in the room. Without even considering his current condition, he immediately began considering the best ways to approach her. He started to check his hair when he remembered.

Even though he knew it was his own fault, he still blamed that blasted wizard. Yeah, he knew he pushed his luck, but those twins were just so fine, how could he not try?

Damn that wizard, he'd polymorphed him into a stupid fly. About the only thing he could do now is alight upon the bosoms of such beautiful women and this Haley seemed like a good one to do so.

With the current events of the room though, he though he may want to wait and instead pick a nice spot in the room to watch this unusual drama unfold. Things looked like they were about to get interesting.

I want the game host to confirm that Methos is definitely not playing the game. I'm quite familiar with game twists as you well know, so I want to be clear this is a 7-player, and no outsider, and no game host also playing the game, kind of game.

Random.org chose Atheotes for me. It's a 1 way tie across the board, I have no reason to try and save my hide, not yet anyway. Pizza, what's your case on Diamondeye? I'm completely indifferent at this point about who to vote for.

My vote on Atheotes was just to get things rolling (as your DBL A vote was, I guess, Pizza). I had no intentions of starting a bandwagon obviously.

Hence, because that second vote on Atheotes seems suspicious to me, I'll place the second vote against Yaropolk (yes I know how that sounds :laugh4:): unvote; vote: Yaropolk

Anyway, I don't have much time online due to crappy wifi and crappier timezone (10:25 PM here and school tomorrow), so I'm hoping that ATPG sees reason (and his inbox) before the deadline.

Diamondeye has me puzzled. I have great suspicion on him but I don't know if lynching him is the best move. If he has a mafia partner he has done VERY good bluffing in private. He's basically willing to vote for everyone here.

I also don't think No Lynch is a good move.


atheotes is not DE's partner, because he's very successfully put Diamondeye in danger, and they both put suspicion on one another. It's a good bluff, but I asked DE to put his vote back on atheotes and he was very fine with that. Then I asked DE to vote for White_Eyes instead, and he was getting ready to do so, when I stopped him. He's obviously willing to vote for Yaropolk. And I'm asking for DE's head.

So who does that leave? CCRunner and Double A. And he's put his "final" vote on CCRunner while CCRunner was in danger. So.... in spite of major suspicions on Diamondeye, I have reason to believe I have the wrong man.

Day 1 Ended

The Players all argued at each other the entire allotted game time, With Atpg leading the way.
“Alright, I change my mind, Diamond eye is now on probation. However, we are NOT going no lynch. Lets get rid of Whitey.”

White eyes snorted and awoke from his partial nap “Wait what?!? Why the heck would you go and do that!”

Double A cut in “because you have been napping through the whole day phase!”

White eyes looked incredulous “No I wasn’t I voted a while ago! I am trying to sleep off a bad hangover man, it is not my fault we schedule these things on a Sunday morning!”

Atpg frowned “So unprofessional. Whiteyes, your done!”

CCrunner quickly nodded “yeah, that’s a fabulous idea! Lets do it.”

Diamondeye frowned “you are just trying to dodge the lynch CC…..”

CCrunner shot Diamondeye a angry glare “yeah, is there a point in there?”

CDF ran his hands through his hair “ok, that is a majority….. Muhahahah……”

Atpg looked at the GM “what was THAT?”

CDf looked innocent “what was what?”

“The evil laughter….. was not expecting that.”

“ohhhh, that was just my thing. Now, prepare yourselves! The day has ended!”

The bartender looked over the tally a few times, the votes having been placed on a black board on the back wall. “Aright then…. That would mean that we have chosen Vicky as one of those dang ghosts.”

Vicky bolted onto the top of her table, her small hafling frame moving with as much speed as it could. “What kind of madness is THIS! I have come to this bar for 4 years, never a problem, then this group shows up and now you lot want to kill me? Fat chance you big oafs! Come and try and I will show you all why they call me Vicky the witch!” Her face was set and her hands spread defensively before her. The other trapped patrons looked a bit stunned, obviously not expecting this much resistance.

Schism hefted his mace “hah! Good job showing us our suspicion was right, you sorceress! No normal person would be so concerned about dying, your family would just resurrect you anyway!” Vicky looked at the cleric with contempt

“Not all of us are PC’s….. Our friends and families do not have access to a kings treasure!”

Isamu stepped in “Wait, they don’t? Your kidding…… Then how do you pay for your magic equipment?”

Vicky looked ready to pop a vein “WE DON’T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Blackadder started sweating and slipped deeper into his seat, knowing what his new teacher was capable of when she is mad….. AVSF and Isamu started moving forward, Schism and Jules the swashbuckler at his side.

Jules smiled his million dollar smile “alright you three, time to get one step closer to Free bar tabs!”

Isamu scratched his head “don’t you mean Freedom?”

“uhhhh, that too I guess……”

They moved in, the other patrons forming a perimeter to stop Vicky from retreating.

She laughed and threw her hands in a few sharp movements, and 4 bolts of force flew form her hand, striking each of her approaching attackers. Most grunted, but kept moving forward, the attack being a mere annoyance. Vicky threw herself into one more spell before her attackers arrived, throwing up a cloud of fog around her. She quickly dashed off as the tavern filled with an thick and obscuring fog.

“Where did she go?”

“is she out of the perimeter?”

“Guys, I hated The Mist! Don’t let the transdimensional aliens in the tavern!”

“Shut up AVSF!”

Vicky smirked from under a table at the taverns far corner. That is, until a specter appeared before her.

“Very clever Vicky. It is a shame the PC’s will be losing access to your magical might.” The hafling jumped and shrieked as Haley floated beside her, half her incorporeal body inside the taverns stone floor.

Her fright turned to rage however, “YOU! This is all your fault you :daisy: :daisy: :daisy: I am going to end you!” Her hands came up in some more hand gestures, her lips chanting. Haley simply smiled and shook her head.

“Can’t have that can we?” Her dagger came up and slashed the sorceress, leaving her falling back, chilled to her bone, but without a physical wound. Vicky tried frantically to cast another spell, but as she searched for her magic she found it gone from her grasp….

“What the….. What have you done?”

“Just a Little trick I picked up. Suffice to say, your magic is gone for now.” Haley’s eyes flashed, and the fog began breaking up in the room. She sunk into the stone, Vicky howling and pounding her fists at the floor.

The fighters found her soon enough. She had lost all of her former rage, with her magic gone she finally accepted her fate. Jules sword found her throat, and she fell dead.


AVSF cursed “guys, I believe that she was not one of Haleys friends…..”

Isamu sighed “and why not?”

“There was no incriminating evidence or anything revealing her allegiance!”

“Yeah, but why would she have that on her if she was at all decent at her job?”

“Because this game only has seven players, and having things otherwise would be TOTALLY overpowered…..”

“…… Good job smashing the fourth wall.”

“I live to serve.” AVSF smiled happily, his duties as a bard fulfilled.

Isamu scowls as he marches down to the Bartenders room, irritated at having to get up so early. He enters to find his fat friend exactly where he left him, trussed up in the middle of the floor. He cuts the ropes and takes out the gag before leaving to go get some more sleep before another days lynches begins.

Other than that the night remains quiet, with everyone locking there doors and staying alert. Haley and the Doppelganger both keep a low profile, understanding that the delicate portion of the game had yet to begin. only one other was moving that night, and he had his reasons.....

"Hurray! We are all still alive guys! HAH! Screw night kills, we are doing a ok!" AVSF was a chipper as usual, already strumming on his lute as usual.

"gah mah blah...." Schism appeared to be having a huge headache, barely able to say a word.....

Isamu yawned and stretched, "yeah I agree Schism, You have no idea what your talking about AVSF."

Jules nodded "totally agree."

Blackadder just looked confused "what?"

The bartender was rubbing his wrist, looking quite irritated. "Yeah that's what I have been thinking ever since this mess started Blackadder...."

The entire group sat down at a large table, ready for another days voting.

I'm very tempted to toss one or two people to the wolves here who logically, I shouldn't. :mellow:

You all realize of course that if we are wrong on this one, we lose the game, yes? One lynch brings us down to 5, then the murder brings us down to 2 town and 2 mafia. Game over.

That means it is time for atheotes to explain who he is, and what he's been doing. Of course, if atheotes is guilty, then the game host set up what is an almost completely impossible set-up for him to win; the odds are too stacked against him.

I keep looking at either CCRunner or Double A as being guilty at this point, because it is really the only way to make this game have a fair setup given the roles remaining.

But for now, I have to accuse the Diamondeye, for claiming a role someone else already claimed.

Does "no lynch" work as abstain or as an effective vote? I mean, if there are 4 "no lynches" and 1 vote on me, is it no lynch or me dying?

Traditionally it counts as a vote to lynch no one, rather than no opinion. So yeah, you shouldn't die.

I'm gonna vote: No Lynch. Not enough information to go on for anyone, and it looks like all the people I've talked to are power roles.

Of course at least one of them is probably lying...
