Manifestation of Darkness [Concluded]
The pale glow of the moon illuminated the features of the night, casting a thin shadow behind them, revealing a tiny village bordered by two cliffs. Upon the crags of the cliff, a tall gaunt man stood, his face ridged with lines of age and his eyes reflected that of one who had seen many atrocities committed. Lightning crackled overhead, but his face remained passive despite his elevated position.
He bore a staff of oak, with mystical runes of power engraved upon it at regular intervals. Looking down at the village in the valley, he grinned wickedly, and raised his staff and began chanting. Garbled phrases of an unknown language began pouring out of his mouth and the air grew fey.
The young man who crouched in the shadows felt the hairs on the back of his neck start to rise. His knuckles whitened as he gripped his dagger tighter, as if it would reassure himself that he was safe. Perhaps it was time to make good his escape to warn the townsfolk. He began to slowly sneak away but was suddenly lifted high into the air and slammed down in front of the spell caster. By virtue of his tight grip, the dagger was still in his hands, and he desperately sought to thrust it forward into the spell caster who was but a hand's span away. T'was not to be so, as he found himself not in control of his own body, his jaws refused to open, and his limbs lifeless at his side, the dagger slipping from his grasp onto the dirt with a solid thump.
“We’ll have none of that my dear, you’ll stay right here and watch this marvelous show.” The spell caster said with a manic look in his eyes.
Trying to yell or drop off the cliffs so that at least the townsfolk would know something amiss when they discovered his body, the young man failed miserably and could only lie there and watch helplessly as the spell began proper.
“One more atrocity wouldn’t hurt at all, just one more.” The man’s grin widened, to reveal teeth filed to edges, sharp and deadly.
----------------------------------------
Welcome to my first small game, the Manifestation of Darkness! You are, well most of you anyways :laugh4:, townsfolk living in the usually peaceful lakeside village of Veridus who if not for this situation would be peacefully living your lives with your typical routine. It now falls upon your shoulders to defeat the evil that has come to plague the land, or be consumed by the encroaching darkness
Rules:
-No wholesale quoting of your role pm or abilities, I'll allow paraphrases or general descriptions. Its always best to check with me at the start of the game once you've received your role pm what you're allowed to reveal in specifics to yourself since it may vary from person to person. Just send the query along during the early game
-Voting should be done in a bolded format such as Vote: Death is Yonder or Unvote: Death is Yonder
I'm not too particular about the general formating so as long as you have bolded your vote and it has the word vote before it (basically it being obviously a vote) I won't mind
-Out of thread communication is permitted but as usual, kindly refrain from quoting over your role pm or results or similar things
-No Lynch is not a valid option for voting, however, abstains are permitted
-Especially, no screenshots of chat logs or the like, but you may type it in thread in the form of a quote or copy paste (which may bring questions of its authenticity)
-Standard gameroom rules apply
And of course, have fun!
------------------------
Extra Note:
I will be away from the 6th-9th of December noon to noon my time, which roughly translates to the 2359 5th December --> 2359 8th December [EST Time], 3 days of what should have been gameplay.

Update:
Still need 1 more player, if there are none by about 12 hours time give or take, Chaotix will be bumped up to main player
After that, the game itself will begin proper on Friday approximately 1400 GMT. Role pms will be out before that, as early as within the next 24 hours (to familiarize yourself with your role before the starting day phase begins), so during that duration, feel free to pm me any questions about your role that you may have
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
I can be the last missing player. Except if Chaotix decides he wants to be a full player after all in which case I'm fine with being a replacement.
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
Alright thanks
I'll move Chaotix to reserve.
Role pms will be out later in the day.
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
Hey folks, change in schedule:
The game will start instead on Sunday at approximately 1200-1400 GMT, and role pms will be out shortly before that (the day phase will be also dual utilized to ask me any questions).
Apologies for the delay, this will be the last one

Re: Manifestation of Darkness
It seemed just like your ordinary night, with a cool breeze drifting by, catching the scent of the flowers in the full bloom of spring. Villagers went about their usual routines, and as usual, the inn was still bustling despite the late hour. Little did those inside know, that their lives were going to be turned upside down.
It started so abruptly, yet so devastatingly effective. First, total and complete darkness to terrify the people, next, cold chilling winds to freeze the people in place, or to discourage them from coming out of their houses. Then finally, lightning would be utilized with fatal accuracy to target the densely placed wooden houses, burning their inhabitants alive to a crisp in mere minutes.
https://img842.imageshack.us/img842/...ingvillage.jpg
It was supposed to have killed every single one of them, but his carelessness to not have checked the surrounding region had bungled the plan, for now instead of no survivors, there were more than a dozen and he had used up quite a lot of his power to have performed the spectacular light show. This problem would be rectified, and quickly, for if Marco the Black was to attain world domination and reign with absolute power, then he would have to make a name for himself.
----------------------------------------
All role pms (with exception of one, owing to said person having a full pm box) are out!
Day phase 1 begins! Voting will end at Tuesday 1.59am and 59 seconds GMT time, which is roughly just under 31 hours and 20 minutes from this post.

Re: Manifestation of Darkness
In a tradition not used for centuries in history forgotten, the villagers gathered at the town center, prepared to eliminate the internal threat by democratic force. A vote was held, that each man or woman, regardless of standing, would have but one vote. A vote to kill someone, a vote to save someone, all lay in your hands.
Today dawned a new atrocity, where you would happily let a fellow human being die simply so that you would not. What is this madness, what is this needless suffering. Wanton violence brought about by paranoia, all in name of safety, in reality causing more harm than it saves.
The product of all these "proceedings" in the name of tradition?
Joooray stepped forward, unusually sober and keenly aware of his impending death.
The hooded executioner boomed in a loud voice. "Joooray, the townspeople have decreed by vote that you are the guilty party and as such will be dealt with harshly for your crimes. What do you plead?"
Fixing the executioner with a dark glare, he sneered. "Since my fellow brethren whom I've grown up with, hoisted a flagon with over all these years have decreed that I should die, by all means, I will honor their decision.
Sighing for what was to follow, the executioner drew his dagger, sharpened and razor edged. Without giving a care to anything else Joooray had to say, he leaned forward, grabbed him by the shirt, and proceeded to slash across his throat, leaving a deep red gash.
As blood spurted from his neck in his death throes, Joooray refused to show any weakness. His only regret was that someone other than him would be able to wile his days in the inn cellar, drinking up all the mead and ale.
"By the traditions of this village, justice has been meted out. Let this man's accomplices see this and know fear in their hearts."
With expressions of regret at having to do the unthinkable to survive, the villagers returned back home, for those who had their dwellings still standing.

Am I still allowed to talk?
Anyway, just real quick:
Wohoo, my first first day lynch. :laugh4:
I was quite busy yesterday and forgot to come here, and that's what I get in return? Not very nice, but well it had to happen in some game. But I will indeed miss that wine.

Of course, there are no inhibitions on the dead talking in the thread, only that they do not disclose role information or results once dead, if that wasn't clear already
Now since we also have people who haven't voted, inactivity will be dealt with by either WoG or preferably replacement if I can find another, should the person not vote for 3 day phases in total, regardless of consecutive or not.

Re: Manifestation of Darkness
A dark figure strolled out into the expanse of the night. Cautious that his footfalls made no overt sounds, a knife in hand, he crept up to the tent of the one known as Warman, and pulled aside the tent flaps.
Noting with delight the unused bag of herbs on the floor, the figure crouched over the prone body of Lanala, and roused her swiftly with a swift shake followed by a punch to the head.
Quickly covering her mouth with his hand so that she could not scream, the figure muttered with a cold delight in his voice. "Scream all you want little woman, no one will hear you".
Savoring the look of terror in her eyes, as well as her futile struggling, at last, the shrouded figure raised his knife, and stabbed it in her heart, ending her life instantly.
Now that the deed was done, the figure left the tent, and wiped his blade on the folds just before he left.
------------------------------------------------------------
Sprig was roused from sleep by a keen call, the call which could not be resisted, a call stronger than drink.
Hastily getting up, he only paused for a moment to grab his coat for the night was cold.
Running with no regard to any sharp edges on the ground, Sprig soon disappeared out of sight, into the magical darkness of the night.
Maybe ten minutes later, a blood curdling scream was heard, followed by unnerving silence.
------------------------------------------------------------
In the morning when the villagers awoke, they sharply noticed the absence of two of their members.
"Lanala turned up dead in her tent, a knife to her heart, and Albastor, he simply disappeared, we have found no trace whatsoever of him. To counter the threat to our town, you need to step up your game people, the kills aren't stopping!" Cried out the mayor of the town, Mr Grim, his words in direct accusation of the villagers present before him.
"Find them, and do it soon." And with that tone of finality, he walked back into the mayor's residence, and the villagers began voting anew.

We need a little more conversation then just having votes for a second round. It is understandable for the first round, but for the second I think that a little more is required. If we all just do vote then no discussion it is pathetically easy for scum to hide. I bet 100 bucks that the scum are sitting in that neat little pile of vote no discussion. Not saying it is you YLC but at least one of those four is scum.
Also even if we take star wars to be a reason for inactivity I don't see it for this round. ATPG is in a 48 hour night phase where we can't talk how can that be affecting activity for this round?

I'm not game for 100 bucks, but I'll bet you an internet cookie. I agree with YLC that any reasons we have as of now are mere gut instincts and guesses, but if you possess any more tangible advice, keep quiet about it completely or tell everyone about it so it actually matters.

If you honestly believe what you are saying, then I wonder why you didn't mention Beskar, Captain blackadder, Tratorix and classical hero as other possible candidates for 'my mafia buddy' , since Csargo only had one vote on him, as well as the others I mentioned, had. You are fishing and cooking up these half arguments Seon..
As for the point of my vote : You Fos Sasaki, which in itself is fine ofc, but you use arguments that you know to be wrong/misguiding. Sasaki explained briefly in Starwars that he was busy. I don't approve with his short posts, but he right now, playes the exact same way as in starwars, so how can you use this against him? Imo it appears that you try to too hard to come up with reasons, since they don't hold water. A mafia knows who the guilty party is and therefore has to cook up reasons for why other people are guilty and to me, it seems this what you are doing.

But of course, the only thing Csargo said before I called him out was "Vote: someone." No explanation given, not even half-baked ones like I am doing, and not even something like cookies. It reeked of a mafia trying to slip past without trying to be noticed. Weak evidence, considering the other suspects, but still, a bad reason is better than no reason at all.

Re: Manifestation of Darkness
Enough of this, at this rate, I shall be lynched. If I survive, I shall most likley to be vigged. I am a night detective, capable of describing what people were up to every night. Based on my results, I have determined one person to be most likely to be an innocent.
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
unvote
If you aren't allowed to reveal after death you ought to claim your innocent.
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
Description of the supposed innocent's actions are necessary, I believe.
The person I spied exited his tent at night, clutching something in his hand. I don't know what it is, although it could have been a weapon. He peeped inside somebody else's tent (not entering) and left it a moment later, still clutching his something. However, he seemed rather...humiliated, whcih seemed to indicate that he is none of the killers shown so far.
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
I trust Seon's claim, for now. We should find someone else to lynch, and I humbly suggest Captain Blackadder, seeing as he has two votes already (and got out of yesterday's tie alive for what that's worth).
Therefore, I will unvote, vote:Captain Blackadder to save Seon. I urge God Emperor and Csargo to move their votes as well.
The current tally, with my vote change, should be:
Captain Blackadder: 3
Seon: 2
Tratorix, Csargo, Beskar: 1
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
Alright, I have sent the "innocent" a secret PM containing a secret word. If he is about to be lynched, he can always say the word.
I will send a PM containing the secret word to several random people, so that they can verify his claim.
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
That's a good plan...
Captain B should claim before we get an irreversible wagon going.

Re: Manifestation of Darkness
I am just a townie so it is better that I get lynched then a detective.
Vote Beskar
I don't think Seon is guilty and Beskar seems the better choice out of the ones that allready have one vote against them. Traitorix hasn't turned up and will be wogged/replaced. Csargo just seems to be acting the way he always does thus Beskar is the only choice left.

Might not be mafia, but still could be an assassin or SK of some sort. Either way, it'd be stupid to let the night detective get lynched. Unvote; Vote: Captain Blackadder
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
May I ask why the sudden bandwagon on me I know that Seon is not going to be lynched and I am the better target of the two but I do no believe that i am the best lynch option out of everyone here. There is plenty of time for their to be a change in target.
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
Beskar had 2 votes after auto's mysterious switch from you to him. It's obvious you picked him to vote for from pure self preservation but you are trying to pretend you didn't.
-
Re: Manifestation of Darkness
I honestly believe he is the best choice from a pure self preservation perspective the better option would have being to try and make Seon look like a liar since he had two votes on him when I did my vote.
-

Also, FOS. I think both mafia (CBA and Autolycus) did it to save Capt. BA.
