Gas Station Girl

Tonight, around 7:00 pmish, I took a trip to the convenience store to get some smokes and gas for my car. So I go inside the store right and walk up to the counter. The lady is sitting there playing with her phone and kind of mumbles "What can I get you.". I ask for my smokes and 15 dollars worth of gas. It takes her a bit to get my smokes because she's still playing with her phone. She rings me up, I pay and go outside.

I walk back to my car and do everything necessary to pump my gas. It's kind of boring pumping gas tbh you just sit there and wait. The pump finally shuts off, so I put the nozzle thing back and screw back on my gas cap etc.

As I went back to get in my car I heard someone yelling "HEY". I ignored it and went on about getting into my car. Whoever this was kept yelling so finally I turned and looked. It was a girl, probably around my age, yelling "HEY" at me. I looked in her direction for few seconds and she stopped. I was confused by this situation immensely, I mean why would she be yelling at me? I am pretty sure I had never met her before in my life. Finally, I turned around and went and got in my car. She started yelling "HEY" again! I looked back again for a second then shut my door and took off.

Is this girl interested in me? Do I have a shot with her? y/n? Do you think she will find me and start yelling "HEY" at me again?

Man, you gotta learn to read signals better. Clearly she wanted to at least strike up a conversation, maybe a little flirtation, who knows. This is what women do they act subtley or akwardly and then force you to make the first real move

If this is your normal petrol station I suggest you be on the look out and dont get lock jaw next time

I don't know what gas station girl wanted, but as long as you enjoyed that first cigarette when you drove away, well, all should be well. Savor that first drag, and perhaps, that first woman, always.

Maybe I am missing something, but I can't believe you dissed her like that and then come on here and ask "Do I have a chance with her?"

Of course you don't. She called to you. You acknowledged her calling, then turned around and ran like a little old lady worried about missing bingo. You probably completely crushed her ego, and now she may very well turn to alcohol or drugs, and I hope you can live with yourself.

Unless of course this is someone you see every day and you can play dumb and say you were in an emergency rush and just wanted to make sure she wasn't yelling at you. Smooth it over after you initiate contact. Tell her you were spaced out, or better yet, tell her you have a horrible fear of girls, which is obvious from the OP.

Or maybe she had tourettes.

Or maybe she was a prostitute who was going to have her boyfriend mug you when you parked with her at Sonic.

Either way, STFS is right, try being a little more brazen in situations like that and simply find out what the girl wants. Maybe she just wanted a ride or a smoke. At the least you make a new acquaintance.

You young guys will learn, eventually, that in a public place you have nothing to lose in situations like this.

The most likely scenario:

She was trying to get your attention, maybe she was trying to tell you something?

"HEY your tail light is out"
"Hey you forgot to close the fuel flap"
"hey you have no pants on"

etc etc

Thats why I would shout hey at someone (i'd actually yell 'oi'), if they were going to do something that could go bad. You don't yell the word "hey" at a gas station if you are interested in someone.

I'm no expert, but Iw as under the impression that when people wanted to talk, they came up and talked....insted of yelling 'hey'....
Maybe you forgot something on the counter....or had some change coming or something?

I forgot to mention in the OP that she wasn't actually at the gas station, but across the street in a car stopped at a stop sign.

Maybe she wanted to race? Maybe you cut her off? etc etc

Road rage hey, nothing more.

I was parked so I doubt either of those.

No dude, she either wanted directions or there were two guys hiding in the back seat to snatch and rob you.

Did you get the number from her license tag?
Find out where she lives, then stalk her for a few months to find out.
In the process create a fake bill for purchasing her car and then report it stolen to the police in case you have no hopes of getting her, maybe you can at least get her car. ~;)
