Requests to Host Games

In your request, please note the following:
Name of host - name of game (if known) - preferred slot in calendar (size/slot: (month/year)).
ex: Askthepizzaguy - Batman: The Dark Knight - Large 2: (June '11).

Here's the Calendar for easy reference.

If any special issues arise, or you need advertising (Large/Huge only) please PM Askthepizzaguy or Chaotix.

• This is NOT a thread for discussion, musings etc. Put in your request to host, or cancellation of same, and that is all. Other posts will be expunged.
• You cannot request a new slot of same game size in the calendar until a previous game of yours with the same game size has reached concluded status.
• Huge games needs two Large game slots. Find a month with two open Large game slots to book a Huge game.
• All posts in this thread will be deleted on a regular basis, to prevent the thread becoming too big (big threads slow down the boards).

Hi Askthepizzaguy. If you don't mind, kind sir, I would very much like to host another large game as soon as a slot opens on your very well-maintained calendar. I don't have a name for this game just yet, but I would like to reserve a spot nonetheless.

I have asked the folks who have occupied the September slots if their games are ready to go and if they will be ready to go.

Both hosts have not developed their game design and both hosts cannot host anytime soon.

As such, with Capo IV on the way, I am clearing out the month of September entirely, and also dropping my own game in October, and transferring all 3 empty slots to Capo di Tutti Capo IV.


Any objections, please contact me, I will give a fair hearing; if you prefer, contact GeneralHankerchief or issaikhaan.

Looking at the small games may also be a good idea, I certainly don't want to host mine while Capo is ongoing. Perhaps having only one small one running beside Capo would be better?

We don't want to stop everything for Capo, it wouldn't be fair for the people who get killed early on to have nothing to do for a month or more. Plus, Capo is the kind of game where one can easily get locked out of the loop via an early death.

I agree. I just was double-checking with the game hosts that had reserved a large game spot in September, and maybe fortunately for them, they weren't ready yet.

Small games are fine, but given the size of Capo probably hogging everyone's time and all the players we can get, it's unlikely another large game will thrive alongside it for at least a month or two.

As such I wouldn't recommend anyone taking over the now-empty September slots. If they really, really, really want them, I guess they're open, but seriously, I wouldn't do it. We are supposed to only have one large/huge game running if it's a huge game, and this is beyond huge.

Certainly overrule me if you think I'm being too hasty on this point, but I recommend this.

No no, you and I are on the same page for this one. Small games run as normal, Large games should probably stop and not start signups until Capo hits the endgame.

Why am I still not in the queue for a Small Game slot? I requested a slot earlier as you can see if you scroll up.

Blah. Due to needing to find both a new car and a new job, my next couple of weeks are going to be both hectic and based around other people's schedule's. I'd therefore like to request that my small game be postponed and whoever's next on the queue host instead. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Oh, I thought I was next, but I realised something when I looked at this thread again. I said I was before Warman, but Warman did /in to two games (which I missed) and one of them is before mine. So yeah, sorry for misreading, Warman is up next.

Accodring to the queue you are up, according to this thread it should be warman. Should check with him if he's even ready to go though.

Yes (and thanks for that!), but as I wrote earlier today (sorry if I was unclear) I totally missed that Warman is before me in the queue, so he's the one up next. He also confirmed to me that he's ready to host and that the game thread probably will be up tomorrow.

I was under the impression you were in front of him as you have a game thread and a fully developed game ready to go.

I'd like to postpone my small game, Leaving Limbo until the new year please. I had no idea how long it would take to get to a sign up phase when I posted my intent to host and I shall be afk from 7th - 17th Dec.

I look forward to giving it my all in the New Year, but leave the festive period to those who have actually hosted a game before :)

Unfortunately, I am going to have to withdraw my hosting which is scheduled to start in January. Time constraints simply won't allow me to host a large game. Anyone who wants to use The Thing game setting or bodysnatching mechanic has my permission to do so.

Just to confirm - I'll be ready to begin sign-up from the 3rd of Jan. Sorry I can't do anything with confidence before that - I'd rather keep you waiting for deep dark awesomeness than run any risk of delays etc.

Yes, I was waiting after New Years for my own game. No point in hosting it when it is a "very active game" and no one is around for a week or so, ruining numerous turns.
