The title is pretty self explanatory. When we finally get our greedy little hands on the beta, what faction are going to play when you first load up the game?I myself can't wait to get my hands on Bactria, they are such a different army to the others in the game at the models are actually beautiful, not that the other skins aren't amazing aswell. There is just something about Bactria that draws me too them. So which faction will you play as?
I join the ever-growing community of Bactria-lovers. However, after the amazing preview, I must say that the Tsorims are almost as good...Silver medal, no doubt.
You haven't seen all the factions... and I must say that my favourite right now was not among the ones shown so far...
Bartix, of course. Failing that, the Seleucids look pretty damn good too, but all the factions previewed so far have been awesome. :dizzy2:
I will probably play as the Romans first and then try Bactria or one of the Successor states. Hopefully by the time I finish two or three campaigns, the real version will be out (or pretty close to it).
Will probably go for Seleucids, as my sig image suggests.
Hope Thracians are in there ~D

i'm gonna go for Bactria. Seleucids will be too hard of a start to begin playing again. since i havent played the game in 5 months. waiting for beta or RTR 6.0 (please dont stone me).
Bactria must be amazing. Interested in their siege engines/artillery. also excited about the mix of persian bows, Greek heavy inf, persians cav, and good javelineers (ifi recall it correctly)
So many choices, so little time ...
I think i'll have to let fate decide which faction I'm gonna play. Once I have seen all the factions, I'll be picking my favourites and then: coin-tossing it is.

Problem is, I like all the previews so far ... It is gonna be a hell to pick a faction.
You'll need a d20, not just a coin :)
Oh yeah, got a point there. But where in the name of Baal am I going to find a d20? d6 is easy enough. So, 3 d6 and a coin...Quote:

Nah, it's one of the old ones (not that I confirm there being any new ones! :), we just didn't have a preview of it yet.
I'm gonna pick one of the barbarian factions and mass inf :)
I think the Aedui or Germanic tribes, maybe i will try the samartians :charge:

well, looking back at all previeuws, and the ones ihavent sene yet. i'm gonna got for romans, trosirm and all greeks except teh ptolomaics, dunno why, hate the region after RTW probably

barbarians first, definitely. i love the look of those units, esp the soldurii (german?)
then seleukids, or possibly ptolemaii. It's unfortunate that egpyt was so lame in vanilla, because i loved playing those faction in MTW (turks, almohads etc), very differnt game playing as some of the lighter, middle eastern units.
also, i can't wait to see what's being done about more of the eastern units, armenians, parthians etc
Aedui first and Baktria in second but maybe I will change my mind after seeing the others factions !

Lots of variety, accurate and interesting descriptions, awesome skins and a well-rounded roster will make, arguably, one of the most charismatic armies in the EB.
Oh I know, the Gallic preview was amazing I utterly CAN NOT WAIT to play as them, and like I said in another topic, judging by the units and such the wars between Gaul and Germania look like they will produce some EPIC scenes.
Bring the Pontians. I loved them in the original game. Oh that and Baktria, they look awesome. But whats going to happen with the two roman factions? Are they going to be left out or used as two new factions?
Oooooh, I think I'll put the armies of the merry ol' Graeko-Baktrian realm under my command first. Blitz down to the Indus, grab a few border provinces from the Selevkids, just to hold 'em off my back for a while, crush the Parthians, and into the East we go, securing a ton of ex-rebel provinces secure from western raids, where I can raise an army large enough to blast my way to the Mediterranean, exterminating population as I march (not for the money, oh heavens no, I just want to be F E A R E D :leer: ). And from the Mediterranean..ah, the sky's the limit. I'll probably pop an all Indian army onto Ireland just for laughs.
After the Baktrians, I'll probably go for either the Selevkids or the Ptolemaids. I can hardly wait! :freak:
