I'd go for Alexander the Great. What a hero.
Kinda trumps your hero, because my hero was your hero's hero. Hahahaha.
I also have a lot of respect for Genghis Khan. Achieved the same as Alexander but in reverse.
i'd say. THE ORDINARY AMERICAN GI. but than again Alexandros Toon Magnoon was cool too
:shocked2: who is you hero?!
Alexander the great. in greek style
Arthur Wellesley, first Duke of Wellington, Viscount of Talavera, Duke of Vittoria, Count of Ciudad Rodrigo and Commander-in-Chief of all of His Britannic Majesty's Forces in the Peninsular, is my military hero. As for actual heroic deeds, I'd say my username, Henry V.
Henry the V would be my British hero.
Hannibal (not the cannibal), one of the best generals of all time.
Richard Sharpe. If he was real person.
totally agree.....or Dave lister, he taught me so much!!Quote:

What is a hero to you? To me it is John Lennon :sunny:
are you all glad i finnaly did something that will last on the Guild
I'm my own hero.
Well, if I must. Napoleon Buonoparte ranks highly, as does Alexander. Augustus I respect more than Julius. Several others as well - Sertorius in Spain was amusing, Aetius, Belisarius - I could go on and on.
you are your own hero! ~
Welcome, ClaytonQuote:

Interesting. I'm curious how you can find one exclusive of the other.Quote:

So, it might be valid to find the guitarist from the musician, because it could be a distinction between execution and creation-If you rush me, i would even compare this with obeying and commanding-. Its not that strange to find good executers that are not so good at creating.
Well, at least thats how i get it :cool4:
Edit: Almost forgot!! my hero: Leonardo da Vinci
...double post, never mind this... :embarassed: :embarassed:

Albert Einstein was a pretty cool guy ~

Betito got it. There are plenty of excellent guitarists who arent so great at writing and organizing new material - Stevie Ray Vauhagn comes to mind.Quote:

Who I also greatly admire are those Tibettans who are still fighting for their freedom and all the others who are oppressed (spelling?) by the chinese.
I also admire all volunteers who help people in foreign countrys: leaving their wealth, freinds, family and homes behind and go helping people without earning money or just enough to buy food and stuff.
and ofcourse all other forgotten hero's
Then I'd rather say all soldiers who fight for freedom, justice and their country (except those cowardly terrorists)Quote:

you must admit he is quite intellegent and he has a lot of talent in the books but I just wouldn't feel comfortable when I'd be in the same room with him.Quote:

I must say the writer did a pretty good job. I'm reading Hannibal at the moment. I've seen the movies now I'm reading the books.

Robert de Hauteville, known as Robert Guiscard. From a poor Norman knightly family, during his lifetime he conquered Naples and Sicily, carving a Norman dominion out of southern Italy. This was the result of countless battles from which Robert emerged undefeated, one fought against the Pope himself and his Lombard allies when they tried to expel the Normans, another fought to protect the same Pope from the Holy Roman Emperor. He also challenged the Byzantine Empire, but nothing much came out of it, a man can only do as much in our limited lifespan.
Another hero of mine is Pompey the Great, a man who too often is, IMO unjustly, put in the shadow of Julius Caesar. Few realise his true greatness.
it is becomeing popular agian! Cheers! ~
One of my heroes is Bon Scott, a man who lived the rock 'n' roll lifestyle to the full, but never stopped being the decent, honest, down-to-earth guy he was. A brilliant lyricist and songwriter, he knew what it was like to work for a living (the guy was no boy-wonder coasting to megastardom at 16; he'd worked his arse off for ten or fifteen years playing drums, singing and even roadying for bands to pay his way until he met up with the brothers Young) and knew how Joe Average saw the world because he was just Joe Average done good, and you can tell that from his lyrics.
I'd put him level with Jagger as greatest frontman ever, but he's totally different to Mick. Whereas Mick makes the smallest club feel like a massive stadium with his showmanship, Bon made even the largest of venues feel like an intimate club gig with his brand of croaky, beer-soaked vocals and down-and-dirty lyrical masterpieces.
The man was voted 'Rock Star You'd Most Like to Have a Pint With' a while ago. He was never caught up in drugs ("The guy loved a drink," Angus would later recall, "but never, never saw him inject or snort anything. Bon wasn't like that"), never married a bloody porn star, never did any self-indulgent vocal tricks, and was just generally a great guy.
To Bon!
That question was not open to you... ~DQuote:

also charlemagne was cool...his castle Carcasonne ROCKS. he was my hero when i was young
MY HERO TRUMPS THE HERO's Your Hero's Hero's Hero
cuz it is HERCULES
you have
1 Hercules
2 Achilles
3 Alexander
4 Julius Caesar
so i win
Martin Johnson.
Best example of why was in 2003 England vs New Zealand in Welliongton i think it was, and England were down to 13 men, only 6 in the pack and took a NZ scrum against the head on the England line.
After the game Johnson was asked what he said to his players to make them win that scrum, he said 'what? do you think i had some chuchilian speach? i told them to bend over and push!'
Also when asked what was going through his mind during that scrum he replied 'My spine!'
What a legend!
There are many people in history that I admire, but I can't consider anyone as hero. Nevertheless for the argument here I vote for Spartacus! :knight: , the man who who led the great slave uprising in 73 BCE against the Romans!
Cheers! To everyone who posted on my thread. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Alexander Hamilton. Teddy Roosevelt. Mother Theresa. Not necessarily in that order.
