If that statement was infact true it would be "I know English very well." Sorry about the pedantic comment.Quote:

German, English, and Spanish. I could probably learn the other romance languages fairly easily if I took the time..
I only know german, and ebonics, which some might call a foreign language. ~D
English and very little German and Swedish.
English and Spanish
English; French, Spanish, Catalan (enough to have small convos), German
English and some German. I can count from 1 to 10 in about ten languages to, but don´t know if that counts. ~;)
English, a good deal of Spanish (More than enough to get by IMHO), and some random words in other languages.
English and passable French. It's starting to go though, I need to practice it soon.
Hmm, since the question is what foregin languages do you speak I have to say none. I speak english (first langauge) and french (passably) they are the offical languages of my nation.
I speak english, I could speak French if I got of my lazy American ass and tried, and I can curse fluently in Spanish and Spanglish.
I speak English and am proficient in German.
Well I can speak Dutch and English very well.
And since we have to learn German and Frenche in school , I do speak those on an exeptable level - don't expect me to actually argue or answer particulary hard questions though ~;)
And I do know how to translate Latin / Ancient greek , so I suppose I could make some small sentances ~;)
:balloon2:
Well apart from English I am passable in German. I can also 'speak' a bit of latin (well actually, I can't, but I can translate it), as well as a tiny amount of ancient Greek.
German and English, I abandoned Latin in school and successfully prevented my dad from teaching me Dutch whenever he tried to. ~D
I never really learned any grammar in both languages I know, I usually got to have a feeling for a language to learn it(which was probably one of my problems with Latin, that feeling wasn´t really developing).
English and Danish. And I understand some Arabic. ~:)
Only Spanish (overachievers, you all!). :furious3:
I speak American thank you! Ain't it great?
Ahem... sorry about that.
I also speak Spanish. Well... as much as one can since I've not spoken it for a few months anyway...
Azi
I know none. :shame:
I was educated in America's Public School system. :bigcry:
I speak English as my mother tongue, excellent French as a foreigner, average French as a native speaker, German and a sprinkling of Hungarian (I went there on holiday a few weeks ago).
I speak Dutch, English and German (though admittedly not really good), I speak a little bit of French (or at least I try to...reading is far more easy) and can read a bit of Latin. I've tried to learn Arab but so far no good... will have to try again later (although it's better then ancient Greek, at which I am a total failure).
English
German
French
Spanish
Portuguese
Dutch
Mexican
American
Italian
Turkish
Arab
Creolo
Can count till ten but not speak in
Chinese and Japanese
thas about it

Dutch, decent French, a little tiny bit of German, reasonable English (speak, not write :p) and understand/translate some Latin.
Ich kall Ouch Limbuuurgs :p
Norwegian, Swedish, German, English and moderate French
I learned German (native) and English (the buisness language) from my parents at the same time. So I really have 2 mother languages.
I speak Finnish, English and German besides my mother tongue, Swedish.
A little bit of Spanish and a tiny bit of Japanese.
ichi
Enough Spanish for work, enough German to eat and drink there, and give/get directions.
Greek as primary
English as secondary
I can understand lots of Italian and French but I havent used em for more than 7 yrs for Italian and 9 yrs for French so I cant really speak anymore. Planning to take some fast business courses for those two to remember them again...
english, german, french (well, enough to survive and get around), spanish (the mexican variation, again enough to survive and travel), I can recite a few Fintroll songs.. but I guess that doesn't count as speaking swedish, does it?
not exactly foreign but i can speak fractured latin...
C, C++, a little bit of Java and Html. :computer:
I'm American, so of course I only speak English (silly multi-cultural Europeans ~D )! I can count to 10, order beer, and curse in French, Spanish, and German. My high school French and German allow me to sometimes decipher written words, but I'd be lost if I had to speak or listen to anything beyond hello, goodbye, yes, or no.
Spanish is my first language followed by Italian, and to tell the truth, English I do not speak but read perfectly, but writing is a real mental challenge. :dizzy2:
I'm Doing French for GCSE, i suck and my French teacher says i'm gonna fail :)
i'm learning french for junior so hopefully....other than that only english (first language) and about 1 phrase of japanese - hello (some script too, but not enough to get by with)
.
Save the awful accent I can read, write, speak and understand English very well. Studied German for three years but never perfected it. Although all isn't lost, I can't speak or write it fluently.
I've had affairs with Arabic, Kurdish and Greek. Can read/write the Greek alphabet and read most of Cyrillic.
Only under one certain condition, which shall remain untold, may I get interested in studying some French.

Besides English, I speak Canadian, Texan, and Londoner. ~D German is the mother language.
Sad, but true. The main problem is that we have no one to practice with. And unless you are exposed regularly to a different language, you will forget it (or revert to a horrible accent). If I had taken Spanish, I could watch soccer, game shows, and novellas on Telemundo to stay sharp. I still watch, but I just can't understand a word that's being said. Adds to the fun, really. ~DQuote:

You can understand Latin without knowing a Romance Language. Fascinating.Quote:

I used to be able to speak fluent french when I was at school but I has all gone out of my head now. So therefore I can now only speak English.
I speak English, obviously, though I am told my accent is terrible. I also know a few words of German and French, but not much. On one occasion, I almost managed to convince a Francaise that I was French. If only I hadn't forgotten the word for stairs. :wall:
I attempt to speak German...
And I can guess a bit of French.
I am quite fluent in english and speak fairly good swedish, even though I forget words every now and then. I speak passable french, but it's deteriorating due to lack of practice. I took two years of japanese at the university, so I'm down with grammar and all, but my vocabulary is woefully inadequate.
I know some words and sentences in german, italian and spanish, and could conceivably communicate in those languages in certain situations.
(My native tongue, finnnish, isn't a foreign language, so it doesn't count)
English and Latin (4 years of Latin in HS) I guess Catholic school did teach me something useful(ish) hehe.
I speak French and Scottish Gaelic.
It seem that I am the only one who can speak chinese in here ~D
I would doubt that. Perhaps some of our Chinese members haven't piped up yet? ~
Inglish, a little Italian, a little German, a little spanish, and two words of Russian, and 2 words of Bulgarian.
Are the two words "****" and "off"?
Can speak English, Dutch, German and French well. Enough Italian, (modern) Greek, Japanese, and Spanish to make myself clear. Can read Latin and old Greek.
English, and pretty good Spanish. And I can say the basics (Hello, I don't speak *insert language*, what?, You speak english?, and **** I said English) in Russian, French, Italian, Japanese, Arabic, and Farsi. That's all you really need to get by.
i can only speak american not english dude
