We have a Blacktown, Redfern etc... I don't think this is the kind of thing to get worked up about, unless it becomes a drawcard for race hate groups...
They can change it if they want... or not- doesn't matter to me. If I lived there, Id vote to keep it- PC is no reason to change your town name anymore than it is to strip a cross off your city seal. :shrug:
I'd use it as a popularity stunt to increase the local economy.:balloon3:
Honestly, I wouldn't care either way.
I would only care if I lived there, and only because of the issues associated with changing your town's name. It isn't an instant and easy process, to my knowledge.
i agree, to a certain point. changing the name is less a step in the right direction and more of a burden on business owners who'll need to pay for new stationary, signage, etc. so it's hurting business and not helping it.
that said, do u feel the same way about confederate flags as part of a city's or state's identity?

Texarkana has a whole spectrum of people. Lots of Rednecks in that part of the state. Its got Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisana Rednecks all coming to work there.Quote:
