Nine Inch Nails is IT for me. No other band is as pregressive, aggressive and intelligent.
Closer is my favorite song.
NiN just played Madison Square Garden, and I missed it ~:mecry: . Hell, I haven't even heard Trent's newest CD yet.
I can't choose a favorite really, but by default I answer this question with:
LED ZEPPELIN
cuz they prolly come closest to my favorite of all time.
Beatles
Red Hot Chili Peppers and Offspring would play for the top for me..

The Alan Parsons Project has been spinning on my record player and CD player since 1977 far more than just about everything else I have put together. ~
Pink Floyd for sure. If it were a modern group I'd choose Godspeed You Black Emperor!, along with some other parts of that collective.

Definately the Verve....aaah what wonderful sounds those guys could conjure up.
Oh, man... that is a tough one. All the blues players are really good- I haven't heard a Fred McDowell, Muddy Waters, or Lightnin' Hopkins song I haven't liked. As far as contemporary bands, I have a lot of favorites- mainly "when they're good, they're GOOD bands. Iron Butterfly is at the top of that list, followed closely by Blue Cheer, and the Doors, and Jefferson Airplane is on there too. However, there are only two bands I can think of that are (were, actually) nearly perfect:

Rancid, The Who, Led Zepplin, Nirvana, Radiohead, Coldplay, The doors, Rollingstones, Lemon, Kane, Pinky (floyd duh!),...
Edit: And in flames too ofcourse! ~:o
Yeah! Someone else who puts Jefferson Airplane on their favorites list. :hippie:Quote:

Tough call. I don't really have a favourite band...I move on to other sounds pretty quickly. I guess Negligent Collateral Collapse can be considered my favourite band at this point. That or Immortal. Immortal will never stop being awesome.
there is only one possible answer for that question....
Queens of the Stone Age of course!!! ~D
Bob Dylan, probably.
Not bad. Not Floyd, but not bad.Quote:

The Stones
Greatest band ever, no question about it
The Refreshments, Drive-By Truckers and Steve Earle
I'm going to see them on Thursday. They are closing for Nine Inch Nails.Quote:

Sorry for the bad comment. I don't agree with you, and I don't like your taste in music.Quote:

Trent's musical mechanics are relatively simple. His artistry--while offered in a style that is difficult for many to relate to--is pure genius to those who understand where he's coming from, who've been there or are there themselves. I think that's why he's popular, and has been for so long. It is a bit disturbing to see so many who relate to his stuff though .... But, that's the way it is *shrugs*.Quote:

How about the band that made metal what it isIron Maiden. They are the frickingbest~
Iron Maiden is good...
I suspect you can relate to it or know where it comes from ? I can too, big time! I don't know many others who do though, although I wouldn't because I am pretty isolationist in my own way.Quote:

It's not so simple to mix random sounds into something that sounds cool, and then teach all your bandmates to do it again. Compared to most bands,( ie Greenday, or System of a Down), NIN is more complicated, experimental, and creative then anything they could put together if their lives depended on it. I understand you like to play music using keyboards so your responce took me by surprise. I hope you're not angry at me.
How's this for playing instruments: The Hand that FeedsQuote:
