Being a big Panthers fan, I hope the Giants have a real bad day. I was more confident in my team before they went and lost to Dallas.
I think the Patriots are over; either the Jags or the next team down the line.

Being a Giant fan I hope just the opposite.
GO PATS:2thumbsup:
my prediction for the superbowl: Seattle-Indianapolis. Both teams at this point are the most favoured to go, does this mean both will go? maybe, maybe not, Cincinatti also is a favorite, also Panthers are looking pretty darn good. So, my prediction, Seattle-Indianapolis-Cincinatti-Carolina. It's gonna be an interesting playoff I think.
Naturally I hope Seattle wins.
I still don't know what "Who dey?" means.
BENGALS! BENGALS!:balloon2:
Yes, thats right, an Englishman is interested in American Football:2thumbsup:
I was really pulling for the Chiefs to get in...alas, was not to be.
Pats are over? Lehesu, what are you smoking my friend?
Bellichek purposely threw the game against Miami last week, just so he could guarantee that he would meet the Colts in their first week back. Doesn't sound like a guy who's worried about Pittsburgh OR Jacksonville. Speaking of whom, who has a quarterback controversy... in the POST SEASON?!?! Jack Del Rio has to get it together.
I'm not sure the Pats will get by Indy (or Denver for that matter), but I'm definitely not worried about their ability to beat Jax (or Pitt) at the Razor.
Wifey being a big Panthers fan (wasn't that fun 2 years ago), I have to keep Carolina as my #2 team. I was really surprised by their poor performance against Dallas last week. Just goes to show, NFC is FAR from settled. I know everybody's singing Seattle's praises right now, but honestly, who have they beaten in the past 4 weeks that's worth mentioning?
I hate to say it, but I'm going to have to say Indy & Chicago in the Superbowl. I'll be pulling for Chicago.
As long as an underdog team wins I'm always happy, so if Seattle-Bengals-Panthers-Chicago beats the superbowl I'd be pleased...I just don't want to see another one go to the Pats.
As an Englishman, I've always followed (purely because of the name) New England. While the Patriots have been the stuff of legend these past few seasons, I think that they are not the team they used to be. That's not to say they are a spent force and they are still a reasonable outsider bet.
My money for the AFC this season is on the Colts though. They look awesome both in and out of posession.
NFC I'm not so sure but I'd say the Bears - their defense is ultra-tight, although their form on the road has been not been what it should.
Go Packers.

No stopping us now!
New England is just not the titanic empire that it used to be. Too many injuries. Like the old lion in a pack, some young cub is gonna run 'em outta town. Indy I like, and Chicago is scary. Although I am a Panthers fan, even I have to admit that they have been rather inconsistent. They beat good teams like New England, and yet lose to Dallas and New Orleans.:inquisitive: No room for flukes in the playoffs.
I sure hope that the Seahawks will finally be able to win a playoff match this year...
And if they make it to the Super Bowl I will have to find some way to watch the game :wideeyed:
I feel your pain, man. It's been difficult to watch Bret try so hard, but just not be able to connect all the dots. I would cry over the abysmal performance of my Detroit Lions, but they've broken my heart so often (ever since Barry Sanders stood down) the tear ducts are empty.Quote:

My favorite S-Bowl match-up, the game I'd like to see: Indy vs Chicago.
But I think Seattle may slip in.
Colts!, Colts!, Colts!
Yeah!:2thumbsup:
Don't worry, the bus will prevail:Quote:

Chi-town! Chi-town! Chi-town! Bears can do it if they win their game next weekend against the Panthers. It'll be a rematch of the 1985-1986 Superbowl, Patriots VS Bears, and Bears will win :2thumbsup:

Tell that to Jacksonville. Patriots 28 - Jaguars 3Quote:

I must say my Giants stunk up the field.
THOSE R****** GIANT DUMBA**** WHAT THE F*** WAS THERE F***** PROBLEM THOSE S***HEADED F***** IDIOTS.:furious3: :furious3: :furious3:
...and yes i'm a giants fan and they did stink up the feild. ~:mecry: :wall:
i can't belive they lost so bad to the panthers.
Pittsburg played like they were out for blood. Destroyed Bengals Quarterback and Runningback...or wide reciever...
DID anyone see the Pats! 4 rings for BRADY!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Okay! So now for next weeks predictions!
Seattle vs Washington = Redskin's beat out the Buccaneers, they played well, if not a little undisciplined. Can they go up against the #2 Favored team? I think not.
New England vs Denver = New England Proved Today that it still isn't out of the tournament yet, especially after their win against Jacksonville. But is New England up to the task of taking out #4 rated Denver? I think so.
Pittsburgh vs Indianopolis = Pittsburgh played today like they were out for blood, they took the Bengal's QB early on, which severly hampered Cincinnati's playability, but even so, managed to hold out until the 3rd Quarter. Can Pittsburgh beat the #1 rated team? I think Pittsburgh doesn't stand a chance.
Carolina vs Chicago = Carolina utterly routed the Giants today, they zeroed in on Tiki Barber, and were able to crush the Giant's defense and offense. However, Chicago is the #3 rated team and the #1 rated Defense. I don't think Chicago's defense will roll over like New York's, my personal opinion: Chicago will win.
the giants lost so i trhink i'm gonna stop watch football now, my seasons over.
GAH! Bengals lost, i stayed up until some un-godly hour in the morning to watch my team lose? GAH!
Ok I'm all for the Pats to win, go for the hat-trick guys!
Pats are going down... one way or another... woot!Quote:

I'm tired of the Pats. I realize that they are the ultimate team. They are smarter, they play hard, they seem to have good character and they win with teamwork. They do things the right way. Woo Hoo. I never realized that this style would bore and slightly annoy me. I guess I want to see more star power when I watch two non-local teams. I'm pulling for Seattle or Indy. I feel this year is Indy's only chance to go to the Super Bowl.
We agree on something. :2thumbsup:Quote:

Its hard to dismiss a dynasty, Kongamato's well written (although brief) description "the ultimate team" will be hard pressed to be replaced any time soon, even with a loss.
So all you New England fans out there (myself included) those of us who remember the 1-15 days of Dick Mcpherson, and the 70's wear your colors proud, those bashing our team do so only because the Patriots are the benchmark by which they must measure thier own franchises.
:2thumbsup:
Raiders are my favorite team and nobody seems to remember their dynasty in the late 70s-80s... Although admittedly I am ashamed of my team...and I hope their owner dies SOMETIME IN THIS MILLENIUM!
Man... I hate the Raiders so much.
Wow, what a game from the Pats, absolute destruction, perhaps I was wrong, maybe we might do it again!
Forgive a bit of ignorance of the rules (I am English) but wasn't the call against the Buccs last touch down a little harsh? Especially when it would have sent the game into overtime. A lot of decisions seemed to go against them.
It was an iffy call Al Khalifah, you've got a point there. The ruling was that the receiver used the ground as '3rd hand' which would invalidate the reception. Based on the jostling they received, and as you pointed out, it allowed the refs to decide the game, I thought the call was shaky.
I'll tell you what was the worst call (or no-call in this case)... no foul for a late hit, no ejection for that player on Pittsburgh, #67. What an :furious3: After Carson Palmer threw the ball, he grabbed his calf, tucked Carson's foot under his body, then rolled up onto his leg. It was a deliberate attempt to take Carson Palmer out of the game, and I thought it stunk. I also thought it stunk the refs let it fly 4 plays later when one of the Steeler defensive backs stepped on the receiver's chest after an incomplete pass in the endzone.
I always thought the Steelers were a classier act than what I saw on Sunday.
What happened to the Colts?:inquisitive:
The Colts don't play till Saturday. They recieved a first round bye for having a good record in the regular season - nay the BEST record in the regular season (14-2). They'll play the Steelers.
I hope Peyton Manning is getting his full body armour ready... the Steelers are out for blood.
Just Joey Porter. I'll admit, he's quite the thug.Quote:

Maybe the Bears have been hibernating since the end of regular season.
Go Broncos! Not because I want NE to lose, I'm actually rooting for them.
'Skins-Seahawks | Pats-Broncos | Steelers-Colts | Panthers-Bears
Pick'em
I say the Seahawks beat the skins the Panthers beat the Bears the Colts over the Steelers and the Pats overthe Broncos.
All my picks have been right so far (why did I not go to the betting shop damnit!). I think..
Colts to walk all over the Steelers
Seahawks to beat the Redskins, by at least 7 points.
Chicago to beat Caronlina - it will be close.
Really not sure about the Pats against the Broncos - it's way too close to call. But hey... go Patriots! Earn the honour of having England in your name!
You were right.Quote:

Awesome. Of Course I have to have some bias towards the team from my hometown.
Yessssss!
Whats this long thread on the NFL playoffs? Wasnt it settled that Rugby was a better and more popular sport and yet no thread on the Rugby playoffs.:wall:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Damn it oh well GOOOOOOOOOOOO Seattle!
Well I still for Seattle making it to the Super Bowl. However I would be quite smitten seeing Seattle or Denver go...
Wow - the Seahawks finally managed to win a playoff-match :2thumbsup:
Ohhhh, that second half was insane. Fumble on the 2 yard line just when you thought it was over.
I think my heart stopped.Quote:

Just as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, Manning chokes once again in the playoffs!!! LOL:laugh4:
Wow I think I've just seen the best defenceive playing in a long time. The panthers after they got a pass picked off...
10-0 panthers
Way to go panthers!
EDIT: Confusing some cats...
Don't you mean Panthers?
EDIT: Now it's 13 Panthers - 7 Da' Bears
Doh!...:laugh4:
yikes..
panthers/seahawks
steelers/broncos
?
i fear this coming super bowl
Whew! That was close. The Bus fumbled on the 1 yard line, 1 minute left. Thank God Ben was there to stop Nick Harper. On a lighter note, Nick Harper had a knew injury going into the game becasue his wife "abused" him before hand. Haha.
They never explained how getting stabbed in the knee only resulted in 3 stitches.Quote:

I told you NE would lose...the whole "old lion" shtic.
GO PANTHERS!!!
Yes, from now on I am officially rooting for the Panthers.
Go Panthers Go!:grin2:
Broncos!!!!!!
This is a bad sign, both teams i've gone for have lost. Go Broncos for the rest of the bloody mess.
I have been a Pats fan since the late 70's, I have seen plenty of bad teams. The Pats looked bad and in my tenor as a football fan I have seen the collapse of the Pittsburgh, 49ers, and cowboy dynasties from the 70s,80s, and 90's.Quote:

I'm rooting for the Steelers. I want to see the Bus get his ring. They're playing the way it should be played... ruining a quarterbacks career, NOW THAT'S FOOTBALL!!!:laugh4:
Just for the stupidest play I've ever seen in my life (the Bus's fumble) I think I want them to lose...
Go anyone but the Steelers!:2thumbsup:
GO SEAHAWKS!!
