Have anyone ever seen JUDEAN ZEALOTS and AMAZON CHARIOTS ?
Yes, and yes.
The latter giving me more problems, due to a bug that a white/grey cloud covered half of the battlefield.
Those two units are probably the only ones that`s only avaible to rebels.
I wonder why you can`t hire zealots as mercenaries.
They're fighting for religion, not money! Right?
I once modded to make Amazon Chariots available to Greeks.
For independence, I thought. :thinking:Quote:

Judean Zealots are fairly common, hold Judea for a while and you´ll get tired of them soon enough ~;)
I haven´t encountered Amazon Chariots, but that´s because I suppose they´re only showing up in that locked-away province Hyperborea, and I simply don´t find it worth the trouble to go there.
I held Judea for 100 years (200 turns) and only encountered them once..
isn't their portrait the same as desert infantry? (the zealots)
Nope and Yes.
i never say Judaeans because they come with the great jewish revolt late in the game...and i never played that far. though i did mod them into the game and so in that way, i did encounter them
No and Yes
I really find the Amazon annoying... i still can't beat them... damn i hate the swamp terrain which makes it take over 5 turns to get to the next region...:wall:
Judean Zealots can appear whenever Jerusalem revolts. They don't always turn up, but sometimes do.Quote:

I took a decent-sized army from Campus Sakae (the starting city in the north) and after bagging a couple of Scythian cities decided to take the Amazon province. First try the game CTD'd as I was making my way into the city.
Second try I autocalced. Lost the entire army, including my general, and the Scythians ended up retaking a city.
I decided to leave the Amazons alone after that little experience. :wall:

You see, those Amazon chariots don't have any blades put on their wheels, this makes them terribly inefficient against anything but archers units and low armoured infantry. Taking heavy cav. and charging them into the chariots will decimate them, and HA could deplete their units from afar before you send in your main force.
:balloon2:
I've also seen them as a band of brigands into the first turns of my Egyptian campaign.Quote:

Beware though ... those Amazons will hide in the forest. They have been starved of sex for many many years :laugh4:
I've seen Judeans, they suck IIRC.
I never seen judeans or yubtseb elephants
I bet they look cool
If anyone will see them in any of your campaigns ,please post here a screenshot
The chariot province was easy, I used a Scythian merc unit and some other assorted mercs from the area. My general didn't accompany them. I think I also brought two phalanx units. It was difficult, but only because my army was so small.
Judeans look just like desert infantry. Yubtseb elephants can only be obtained by cheating. IIRC you have to type 'oliphaunt' in Rome Shell (Rome Shell can be opened on the campaignmap by pressing the ~ button). They are gaint elephants with a row of Cretan archers on their back.Quote:

Yubtseb elephants.. what a crazy unit.
They're ok. But they take hours to kill units...
And they can't break wooden walls either. :no:Quote:

Female Peasants ?
The term Zealot, in Hebrew kanai, means one who is jealous on behalf of God. In modern English it is used to refer to any form of zeal in excess, especially to cases where activism and ambition in relation to an ideology have become excessive to the point of being harmful to others, oneself, and one's own cause. A zealous person is called a zealot.
They are the suicide bombers of RTW?
Judean Zealots:

They appeared just south of Jerusalem early in my Egyptian campaign.
They are in the unit files, but it is not a unit. It is merely an entry for the females you see walking around in the city-view.Quote:

Heres some stats and a picture. Judeans turned up for the second time in my Egyptian campaign. Perhaps any rebels in Jerusalems area will be Judeans ?

There were three units of Judeans in that stack, plus a general, and an archer.

I shot them with Chariot archers and slingers. Im not going to mess with those Jealots spear points.
Nvm, I cant read the small text on teh unit descr. My computer blurs it up (And I dont have bad eyes).
Holybandit..I get that as well. Clicking on the image three times progresively makes it better.
If that doesnt work for you:
120 Soldiers
0 experience
Attack 11
Charge bonus 5
Weapon type: light
Total Defense 7
Armour 0
Def Skill 2
Shield 5
Hit Points 1
Recruit 490
Upkeep 200
The Judeans (or People's Front Of Judea, as they're also known) spawn as bandits/rebels in Judea. In my Egyptian campaign at least introducing them to some eggie ROAD RAGE was a pretty decent way to train generals, since the buggers pop up on almost regular basis.
The Amazons sit up there in Hyperboria. Chariot archers. *shrug* Best armoured of the lot I think, but that only works against missiles and thus doesn't really matter all that much as they die in droves like all chariots when they slow down in melee, especially against infantry.
I did some tests with them once, and they kill cavalry just the same as all other archer-chariots up close. Pile some enough reasonable-quality cavalry on them (the main point is to keep the horsies from breaking) and they'll eventually drop like the rest.
Incidentally, a much more convenient way to see the stats and descriptions of the units is to simply look them up in the appropriate text files - export_descr_unit in the main Data folder for the stats, export_unit in the Text (IIRC) subfolder for the fluff.
NAKED FEMALE INDIAN archers
coming soon ...
I`m afraid they aren`t.
and for any mony python fans the description is quite funny.
I'd modded out the Amazon chariots a while back because I kept receiving CTDs whenever they were faced on the battlefield. Probably becuase of my outdated gfx card...or that the model (distance-rendering) entries had been poorly coded. Must've been halfway through a vanilla RTW campaign over a year ago the last time I'd encountered those units.
As for the Judean Zealots, yeah I think I came up against these in a semi-modded version of RTW, but again this was ages ago.
Regarding the Yubtseb (Bestbuy) Elephant Oliphant over-scaled rubbish, I've never encountered these in a campaign. I've read elsewhere that these have the chance of being spawned in rebel armies when the gladiator_uprising event occurs. Not only are you likely to face these units, but almost certainly chariots, gladiators, and not forgetting the peasants: all of which are the uber 3-gold-chevroned category!
It appears that these gladiator_uprising features are included in the latest version of the RTW EXE, so there's no direct way of modding them out.
blessed are the cheesemakers...Quote:

Where can I find Amazon chariots to hire?
You cannot. They only appear in Hyperborea, as rebels.Quote:
