Speaking as a fellow American, I sometimes see Fawlty Towers late at night. That's got John Cleese and his wife in it, and it's pretty funny.
Mr Bean is a classic that you've got to see.
Eddie Izzard. Best comedian of our time I think.
I doubt you will be able to find it here, but over there I saw a funny stoner comedy that was on late at night called The Mighty Boosh.
Of course, it would be a travesty if you never saw Ali G. "My main maan Paat Boocannon.":laugh4: "Innit a coincidence dat Jesus was born on Chris'mas day?"
innit bruv? One thing I'm glad that I don't have to listen to anymore.:laugh4:
The office
Green wing

one foot in the grave
father ted

Red Dwarf, if you also like sci-fi.
Bottom is the most funniest british show then Blackadder then probably Brasseye. But bottom on top by a mile
Surely Bottom was just a load of fart jokes? Can anyone remember which German it was said "Ahh, the toilet. For us, merely a device to dispose of bodily wastes. For the English, the basis of their whole sense of humour."
I vote for Blackadder II-IV.
Father Ted was Irish but I second that nomination too.
Mate if you think that then i don't believe you ever watched the show. Bottom is so funny i ache from laughter after richie and eddie violent exploits. Mate seriously can you say you never laughed at bottom?Quote:

Red. Dwarf.
If anyone thinks this show is rubbish I will personally come round your house, strap you to a chair and make you sit through the whole of Series 1, 2 and 3
Black Adder
I acctually agree with English Assassin on the subject of Bottom. A few things in it were funny but it was mostly trash. Then again, I like Alan Partridge..
Come get me. ~:flirt:Quote:

Blackadder. :2thumbsup:
Teh funny
We have "A bit of Fry&Laurie" and it's very funny.
My family
Young ones
Waiting for god
Faulty towers
Father Ted
Blackadder (If you just watch the last episodes from the weaker odd seasons and all of the much better even seasons then you'll be in good stead)
At home with the Braithwaits
Monarch of the glen (not really a sitcom but it's hilarious)
Are you being served?
One foot in the grave
I acctually rather liked Blackadder I.. it was just Medieval Mr. Bean, yes, but it was funny. Blackadder II was undoubtedly the best series though. My Family sucks. Esspecially after they got rid of Kris Marshall, or more likely t'other way around. Just saw an Episode of Big Train on UKTV.. a shame I never saw it the first time around.. Jennyus.
Little Britain is a must too.
Bean > blackadder
I can't say I NEVER laughed at Bottom, but it IS basically fart jokes, and the Young Ones was better.Quote:

Blackadder
Father Ted
Red Dwarf
Fawlty Towers
Chewin' the Fat
Still Game is excellent
I found Little Britain quite disappointing after the first series, though I went to see them in the Clyde Auditorium in February, which was fantastic, although the pair are not suited to live stage work, they made quite a few mistakes...
Lots of good stuff here.
I saw The Mighty Boosh stage show recently ... Mad and Hilarious!
Black Books
Ok, it's written by two Irish guys, but we rule their asses and they know it...(jk) ~;) Ok, on a more sensible (and realistic) note, several talented brit comedians like bill bailey are involved...worth it to see him doing stand up ... ahhh...the laminated book of joy,and the mysterious tea and coffee making facilites.
...and of course blackadder/the young ones/bottom ... not quite sure which has got closest to making me vomit from laughter - really depends on how much you find someone getting hit repeatedly with a fryingpan to be... you know the answer for me...~;)
The Young Ones, funniest show ever. Especially good when a plane crashes into the house.
Yeah, British comedy rules.
And, how could I have forgotten, Vic Reeves Big Night Out.
Mate Young ones was not a patch on bottom, not in the same league, more like Vauxhall conference compared to the Premiership:laugh4:Quote:

Well we may not agree on Bottom but I'm with you on Brasseye. "I'm talking Nonce sense" "Cake: its a made up drug."
Or was that The Day Today, I forget.
Oh, and what was that programme where Daisy Donovan went round interviewing people and making them say absolutely filthy things without realising it, I nearly wet myself when she got Ann Widdecome to say you had to give good head to be successful in politics. Yeah, OK, Dennis Pennis did it first but its still funny.
The eleven o'clock show, I think.
black adder, fast show, faulty towers (every Monty python really), you rang my lord?, err... so much more.
Blackhadder and Yes Minister are my favorites..
actually I´m not sure Yes Minister counts as a comedy.....I´m not totally convinced that things don´t really happen like that in real politics :laugh4:
I would also out peter cook and dudley moore derek and clive tapes. Extremely rude but very, very funny
