For a warrior culture, the Japanese have some really hippy trippy names. :hippie:
松尾 Matsuo (tail of a pine tree) 大輝 Taiki (large radiance)
I'm really not sure if being the tail of a pine tree is a good thing or not...! Of course, this was using my REAL name.
Cool site though.

Some of the translations are a little strange.
The first and last parts of each name are apparently generated separately, since, for instance, naka (中) combined with shima (島) is pronounced and transcribed nakajima.
It seems that the characters might be generated first, then the meanings. The character for "book" is indeed 本, but the same character also means "main" or "base", which is more often its meaning in names. For instance, honda (本田) is main field.
黒川 Kurokawa (black river) 駿 Shun (fast person)
Well, it's more rare, but "nakashima" is also used. Ofcourse one can't have any special expectations from a random generator of sorts. Like the translations..."nakajima" doesn't mean center of the island, but rather island in a lake or some other enclosed body of water.Quote:

Hm... still the only one of my 'clan', but someone else is also a fast person
@Tachikaze: 本 should also mean 'original', if the meaning is the same as in Chinese, and most words are.
Yes, but he already mentioned it indirectly, as an extension of the "base" meaning, therefore including origin, and as an adjective original, inherent etc.Quote:

小川 Ogawa (small river) 拓海 Takumi (open sea)

:stare: Okay, for one thing... little pine tree? Juat what the hell is this thing trying to say?!
For another- ONE reality?! :rolleyes5:
Something isn't right here. It says it's giving the names in the traditional pacific rim style family name then given name. But it's not coming out that way.
Here's my name, Ishikawa Kazuma. Makes you think my clan is the Ishikawa's right? Wrong.
Here's my dad/brothers (my brother is named after my dad), Yoshikuni Kazuma
My uncle, Kuroda Kazuma.
His sons (my cousins), Hara Kazuma and Matsuo Kazuma.
My grandfather; Fujiwara Kazuma.
My mom, Mizuhashi Kumiko.
My sister, Hasegawa Kumiko.
All these names use my family name, Smith. Input in western style given then family names.
Here are the name input family name first then given name.
Sakamoto Shun
Sakamoto Masato
Sakamoto kaito
Sakamoto Taiki
Sakamoto Kazuma
Sakamoto Taiki
Sakamoto Kumiko
Sakamoto Miharu
Granted the names are totally different but they are in the right order. The instructions should say which order you input your names. :wall:
Ofcourse its not translating right Kagemusha is Japanese and the literate translation means Shadow Warrior, and still the program translated it to something totally different.
Yuki (meaningful value) 聖人 Masato (sacred person)

That does seem a little more appropriate, in an abstract sense.
Wait, were you supposed to include both first and last name in the name part of the generator?
Ishimaru (round stone)
Taiki (large radiance)
藤原 Fujiwara (wisteria fields) 雄大 Masahiro (big hero)
Yamashita (under the mountain) 一真 Kazuma (one reality)
藤原 Fujiwara (wisteria fields) 拓海 Takumi (open sea)
