Not another one...
Smegheads from the Isle of Man are all over us!!! :laugh4:
SmegHeadIan is from Isle of Man. About 1700 posts.
Does everyone on that island play this game? Jeez, you're everywhere. :sweatdrop:
I've heard of it, I saw it on a map when I was small and thought it was a funny name. :book:
I've heard of it.
I'm from it, where you live?
I've heard of it, mainly through Ian's posts.
Isle of Man? Is that near Jamaica? :dizzy2:
I always thought it was spelled "Isle of Mann". Google gets results both with either one or two letter "n".
I heard of it when I was a kid, and I was fascinated by the idea that there was this language, Manx, which was only spoken by a few hundred people. My best friend and me used to joke about how someday, when the human race enters into an interstellar empire, everyone will speak Manx.
Jokes like that are really funny when you're eleven years old.
Heard of it, been there, but I am a biker.
Nice place, if you like small islands in cold seas. Which I do.
There are a handful of Okells (IoM beer) pubs here in Liverpool. I've been to the glorious TT a few times in the past, but not on my bike ... they were intensive drinking holidays, and bikes and drink definitely don't mix. Luckily, the aunt and uncle of a mate of mine had a BnB in Douglas so we were able to get accommodation quite easily for the race period.
:2thumbsup: to the IoM
Do you live here? I live in Crosby. Who else lives here?Quote:

Sooner or later someone is going to say its got the oldest continually functioning parliament in the world. So it might as well be me. (The Icelandic althing began earlier but was suspended during Danish occupation).

They also have legal officers known as Deemsters who were originally responsible for memorising Manx Common law (which was known as breast law as it came from their insides). The Deemsters still exist and are still the judges on Man.
Do they still beat miscreants with a bundle of sticks? :inquisitive:
I go to Castle Rushen High School, about to do my GCSEs :2thumbsup:Quote:

So much for the phrase "No Man is an island"... ~D
(How many millions of times have you heard that joke?)
I believe the Isle of Man isn't part of Britain but the Queen is their Head of State.
The Queen is the Lord of Man (and Duke of Normandy, but that's by-the-by). I think we should make the Isle of Man a Crown Colony... just to ruin that long-running Parliament...
Does anyone actually still speak Manx Gaelic on the Isle of Man?
....
I`ve seen a bike poster with that name written on it..
Btw, Isle of Man can also be spelled Isle of Mann.

I've heard of it, though it's only because Ian posts here a lot and well... he lives there.Quote:
Who here has heard of the Isle of Man?
:balloon2:
Yes a few hundred do, and recently in our primary schools a program has gone forth to give all students from the ages 5-10 the chance to speak manxQuote:

OOOH you did not just call me posh! :furious3: :laugh4:
It was my impression that to be a Pink Floyd fan one of the requirements was "chav"...
And by the way, despite having a reputation of being posh, KWC is nothing of the sort. There are people there who are right scallies and do more dope than Eminem. Nobody there is posh, just very proud at the fact their daddy has a Ferrari (which I don't) and they practically are bathed in money.
...isn't that about the same thing ? :inquisitive:
Oh yeah, and I've heard of the teensy lil' isle. From rather surprising contexts too mind you, such as R. Talsorian's ancient Cyberpunk 2020 RPG.
Of course; isn't it an EB custom map?
~;p
Well, from some points of view maybe. I view "posh" as someone well educated with perfect manners. lol, KWC does not in any way give you a better chance of being better mannered!Quote:

But then again Diablo, even CRHS gets called posh by Ballakermeen
What by the mother of pies is wrong with living in a "posh" area, anyway? It just goes to show that you've had more success in life than other people, and yet kids are always gloating about how hard and chavpacked their towns are? Ludicrousnessability!
We KANE yo' butts according to student count/sports success ratio!!! i.e. where as my year only had 30 boys (of which 15 were on the rugby team) your school has about 300 boys to choose from for the rugby team! As far as I know Rugby was the only sport my old year had difficulty beating you in, footie and cricket we owned you bunch of chavs outright (though I never was on those two teams much).Quote:

Cricket? psssh! footie maybe, but Cricket, never! not in the Senior team anyway...and rugby we kick everyones tail so...
ans yes, Balla = Chav city...they could call Hobos posh tbh :D
Well if you are talking about the senior team we beat you in everything! In the senior Rugby team we beat you every time! Thats how we got to the semi final of the Daily Mail Cup...
Guys ? Could you, like, pull up your pants, put your... objects... back in, and close the zippers ? This is a public forum after all... :balloon2:
I went there a few years ago to play waterpolo in the annual student sports festival (otherwise known as one of the biggest piss-up's of the university year ~ ). I loved the water slide at the pool because it measured your time, so we just ended up racing on it all day :2thumbsup: .
What the h**l are you on?Quote:
