What's your biggest fear in life?
Absolute loneliness.
Being caught.
Loneliness as in having no spouse ?Quote:

Those things should be rounded up and launched into the sun.
Serious replies please. I'm curious...
Who says it isn't serious?
Humiliation for me.
Aside from getting eaten by a shark, there are two things.
1) George W. Bush getting a third term as President :help:
2) The thought of Jodie Foster dying my hair red in a beauty saloon. :sweatdrop:
Having no friends
i share the same with many of you.
but for me HEIGHTS.
death for me is dropping in percent.
Getting genetalia cut off.
And also Bush getting re elected.
Deth of family members and God.
Is there a particular reason for this poll?
Anyway, uncontrolled behaviour for me (e.g. additction, etc.), or, generally, someone (or something) having power over me.
Letting my children down.

The dark
Gorrillas
Public speaking
Interacting with people
Never having a real realtionship with a woman
I'm serious about the jellyfish.
Nasty, boneless, tentacular things... *shivers*
Maybe because I'm young, but these things scare me more than anything else.
He is only allowed two terms.Quote:

I hate them too, and snails, slugs and octopuses.:skull:Quote:

I assume that's why a third term would be so very scary...Quote:

1. A barley plague...or parasite that destroys barley
2. Tidal Waves
3. Midgets/Dwarfs
Never being allowed to drive. That's suicide in my city.
Insanity.
Becoming stupid or insane.
Australia becoming an American colony...
But seriously, heights.
Cancer
Being alone
Not having sufficient grades in school
Death
Death of a loved one
Death.
I hold this stupid (but probably is the least of all the stupidities of the Afterlife) idea that death will cause me to lose my existence, my awareness -- which is the worst thing possible.
Losing my eyes, or losing anything for that matter, even teeth.
Blindness, painful death, my parents dying before I reach 50...
And many others.
loss of mind
So anything without bones?Quote:

I'm afraid that I won't be remembered after I die. Actually it's a bit more, but those are the basics of my fear.
Betrayal...
#1: Failing myself and my values. Especially at the cost of my loved ones.
#2: Great injury or death to my loved ones.
#3: An event that renders me incapable of functioning normally in society.
#4: Sharks. I @#!%ing hate sharks. They scare the living crap out of me. It took every ounce of my ballsack to get scuba certified and then go diving in Tiger-Shark Infested waters. I still hate surfing on the pacific coast because of great whites, but I do it anyway for love of the waves. God I hate @#$%ing sharks.
Making another mistake that I can't fix.
girls
and looking at the bigger picture, dying alone and unloved, with no one to remember me when I'm gone.
Ajax
Water, lots of it. When I have nightmares it's most of the time about big waves, I have no idea why. That or having to run/fight and lacking my strength.
I think I heard one always lacks speed/strength in dreams, but I don't exactly remember why that was.Quote:

A lot of smaller animals like spiders I am somewhat afraid of should they touch me. As already mentioned, the ocean for almost all reasons mentioned before, too many things that can hurt you.:sweatdrop:
Hmm, there are others, but I can successfully override most of them with my optimism.:2thumbsup:
It wasn't the intention of the thread, but a funny thing is no one shares my biggest fear...
No one has mentioned happiness. Sure a lot of you will have thought about it, "I'll probably won't be happy when I don't have a girfriend/legs/sight/etc"
But seriously, suppose you lose a leg, or that you are alone, but perfectly happy, in a state of enlightenment, does it matter ?
I'd rather have 1 leg, 1 eye and no girlfriend the rest of my life and being perfectly happy at the same time, than having to spend a lifetime of depression with a fully functional body and spouse...
So my biggest fear would be to never gain complete happiness.
Anyone care to change their votes or mock me ? Now is your chance..
Pumas
Stingrays .
Having my parents die while I´m still young...
seeing as I´m turning 25 in 4 months never getting lucky with a girl and dying alone with a bunch of cats is getting up there...
after today I also have to add stingrays to the list...
I forgot to add that, while not afraid, I am also nervous of having my features put in statues, and being buried.
not doing any effect on the world.
Fear?
Ragnarok.
Not that I dwell on things I am afraid of but I would say having my child or loved one being kidnapped or taken. Something I was helpless to change but would want to more than live.
To get older and live a boring life.
