I know the EB team is working especially hard these days to finish .8 and I truly appreciate all of their work, but.....Would it be possible toget another preveiw to wet the appettites of your adoring fans? Possibly even a glimpse at the still mysterious ibex shield faction? That would be great guys.
We gave you three previews, and three new addons to download, within three weeks, and you still want more? Oh, the humanity! :dizzy2:
We're actually back on track with 0.8 (people coming back, things getting sorted out, bugs getting cleaned) so we'd rather spend time finishing this one finally. Expect previews when we're stuck again on something ;)
We are really working hard on the 0.8 release and it seems to be really not far away, so stay tuned. If no major new bugs arise, 0.8 should be available to the public soon.
Edit: In the meanwhile, you could also give Arthurian TW a try, it's a really fun mod. But only until EB 0.8's out of course:wink:

Just wondering, could we able to use our old save games with the new verison? Coz, i've wiped out evil Makedons, poor Hellenon, Greedy Romans and Barbaric Getai from history in my Epeiros campaign.
By the way EB is awesome mod. I play it with a great joy. Serious gameplay like Chess combined with classic TW gameplay ( except vanilla RTW :sweatdrop: ).

Now, now, we're not falling for giving any dates this time :) Just because we've moved through with work on 0.8 doesn't mean it will be ready by next week or two. It just means it will be ready soon :)

So somewhere along the line the Indo-Greek Hoplites got reclassified as peltasts and we got true hoplites as Indo-Greek Hoplites instead. Fascinating.

Indo-Greek Hoplites of previous previews are now named Indo-Hellenikoi Peltastai...so this new unit is prolly Indo-Hellenikoi Hoplitai now.Quote:

Check the EB website and gallery every now and then.
I think the team likes to try and slip things by when they think nobody is looking... ;)
Visit a lot of different sites associated with EB and you never know what in
the world you will come up with. You may find some really cool new things on a
website somewhere if you are lucky, a forum possibly, a review even linked to a
gallery of shots, or some other type of sneak peak into various things EB. Or wait
for them to show up eventually in the game and you can see them then. But if a
new patch or extra download is what you want, you probably won't find any
unit updates or anything like that. But you never know. We have lots of cool
pictures of our new units already shown so maybe that's enough. :laugh4:

there's even an interesting shot, posted by TA, of the midriff of a heavy kretan archer. looks nice, and much the sort of direction I was hoping they would go for at least one of the variants of kretans. oh yeah, the shot is in some thread over at twc.

Of course I only played the Germans a little while...
What I wonder is if the EB team would be kind enough to give us another little hint about who the other new faction is besides the Saka. Just to make us think a little. It was guessed on another forum what it was (Sabaea) but that was just from an Ibex photo and I was told by an expert the other day that the Sabaean's main symbol was more along the lines of a crescent moon. So just a little hint from the EB team would be great, even if it makes us shake our heads in confusion.

Those Germanic units look great, I really like the club-wielders since they are mentioned in so many historical sources. Great work!

In some of the shots, such as the first one, is that a new grass texture? It seems somewhat more vibrant than I remember, though I haven't played RTW for a while.
Thorkitia use swords like Hypaspists? Or they use Thureophoroi Javelin+spear combo?
thorakitai use javelins + spear. the soldiers they represent would have had swords as well, but there are limits to the RTW engine (though I think they carry xiphoi in the models).

Are the Sweboz getting a flashy new general (and bodyguard?) model? I'd like to try some foot generals sometime and apparently the Sweboz bodyguard is fairly tough so it sounds like a good place to start.
'fairly tough'? freakin' hard to defeat is more like it. I just ran a custom battle to try and beat a sweboz army, and that general's unit ripped apart my Romani better than Gaesatae ever could if the Gaesatae had 1HP.

Wow! That new GUI looks great. I really like the riming around the Battle Map!
You've tweaked the shape fo the unit shapes on the radar map on the battle map? They're no longer traingles in the bottom pic.
That's just the difference in zooming in. But the Count is right - I've put borders around them instead of them just being totally unobscured flat maps. The alphas now conceal the edges a bit. Got the idea from CA's BI battlemap radar map.Quote:

The GUI itself has been shown before (for eastern greeks), but one other thing visible in that shot is the event images - which have now been changed to match the GUI itself when you play as one of those factions (plus a lot of new ones have been added - no more roman weddings for our eastern greeks!).
