That question has been making me think for a long time. All moderaters (not assistant moderators) seem to have assasin MTW or RTW avatars, but why? There is a nice selection, they don't all have to look mean? So why do they do it?
Thankyou.

They are mean. And they mean you to know they're mean.

You always have to point at me yelling "Haaaalf-liiing, haaalf-liiing!", don't you?
:disappointed:
I agree, their souls are dark and mysterious, And they want everybody to see this! :laugh4:
LEN, if you try harder, one day you may be dark enough!:sweatdrop:
All of the moderators are in fact the last of the mysterious cult of the hashishin, believed to have been wiped out centuries ago. They regularly assassinate the members they don't like, which is why I'm currently in hiding in the mountains. In fact I shouldn't even be telling you this...

read the instagib topic in this forum...like our new tool ? ~D.Quote:

I wish I could InstaGib once Mithradir. ~D
I have dark thoughts. ~D
I wish I could have a dark and mysterious avatar, but I wouldn't know what to do with it.
Their beauty is blinding...
Interesting topic. Caravel, interesting explanation. I will have it in mind. Probably you will save my life. I currently prefer to be in the Mead hall which is often said to be ' quiet place' ( there is not many people there, really ( compared to the other subforums). Iwill be careful :2thumbsup:.
P.S. I like this trend. It is quite unique
Is that suposed to sound threatening? Anyway, answer so then you can Instagib me! Thing is I would have to start again as a Junior Member with 0 posts! But at least I would know...Quote:

I think Tosa had a thing for veiled threats ( thats us :laugh4: ) and equality...
My soul is certainly dark and mysterious... and I have the compassion of a rock.
I wish I could be a moderator...
Don't we all.Quote:

So if I was to become a moderator then I would have to trade my lovely avatar that looks almost exactly like me (except for the bald head) for that of an assassins? Thats not fair, you should start a public group that aims to change moderator sign up policies...Quote:

LOL General! You just need to add some red glowing eyes and I'm sure some mod would pick it up ~:)
And I was almost a moderator until they realized I was enjoying all of itQuote:

..You can't imagine it..Just stay clean and ordinary..I miss those days..Oh damn I forgot to wash out the mop..Eeewwww..
The ninja avatars for the moderators are meant to scare the sheet out of you.
I don't know about that. If it wasn't for the cheap beer, I'd be all over it! [whistles innocently]Quote:

A few moderators have had the skill to create their own avatar, or been persuasive enough to convince Tosa to allow something different...
Soly, Myrddraal, frogbeastegg, Epistolary Richard...
Every new staff member gets to clean the Org toilets... the practice was already established when I became moderator. I think it teaches us how to cope with unpleasant tasks ( if you can cope with the Org toilets you can cope with anything!
http://wise.net.nz/users/robm/dirty toilet.jpg
Compared to the Org toilets, the task of keeping the forums clean and safe for humans to use is easy. ( why don't you guys flush? )
:laugh4:
Eeeewwww.... :skull:
And other question, maybe it isnt on topic but
Who moderates a foum who doesnt have moderators?
The administrator.
He is a moderator on all forums.
Right so that is the legendry initiation ceremony, cleaning a load of toilets... DISCUSTING, as far as I can recall about my primary school days even those horrible, discusting, smelly toilets weren't that bad. Thing is who uses the .Org toilets. Members don't, and even the Moderators can't make that much mess! You should hire a (very good) cleaner or get Kim and Aggy (How Clean is Your House) in!Quote:

Wow, what have you guys done to the toilet? Looked like this when I left:

Lovley toilet therother, I wish the staff toilets were like that...
The initiation rituals for moderators involve cleaning up after the senior members, admins, and other mods... amongst many other sinister and dark things. Tosa wants utter devotion from you, young grasshopper...
Yep the toilet has gone down the pan a little, but something really needs to be done about the location too....

(This image has been enhanced with the Prometheus grass mod)
Supposedly the robes were easier to remove the blood stains.
But apparently bathing in blood of the backroom is hard to remove, and castrating with bricks really makes a mess that just doesn't wash out with ease.
:laugh4:
Nice one Pape.
My friend's critical appraisal of school staff toilets in English Secondry Schools:
Our staff toilets that we have to use are nearly as bad as the ones posted by Rob the Bastard and thats AFTER they have been cleaned! However the location is better, I don't have to walk over hill and dale and into a grassy swamp to get there.Quote:
Hi I don't have a clue what to say. I am Matthius' fellow teacher and have been at this school 3 years now. I can't wait to leave these damn kids. Nice toilets by the way - they're nearly as clean as the ones at our school when the cleaners have finished. Bye!!!!
Katherone of this river Rhine
So when I typed that she said to me:
You can instantly tell by what she said that staff toilets in schools are disgusting! Terrible, smelly and horrible. Cleaning them would be more of a chore that cleaning the Org ones. And belive me it would be....Quote:
It's a school - there is no worse location than our school where we work!
I think the next Moderator Avatar should be Chuck Norris.
Chuck Norris can't be trapped in pixels.Quote:

Ahhh there so cute. :D
I guess the scary avatars are to stop members from bad posts and SPAM but it doesn't work very well. Though I guess that's why they gave Beirut that axe.....hmm should have given him a leaf blower would have been better.
You can just imagine the harsh rattling breath, the hissing, and that chill that freezes the very marrow, combined with that feeling of losing all hope... :skull:Quote:

ha Matthius, very nicely done ~:)
Yes, and I've seen a couple shine every now and then. I think Mydraal's has to be one of the most intimidating. The avatar's mask looks like just a face, making him look like a ghost. Very scary stuff. My wife was looking at the computer and saw something shiny (yes, I married an ADD woman) and so she asked if I would wait for it to go again. Needless to say, it took awhile.
The Mask is ER's
One of them does twinkle yes
PS, take a closer look for my eyes
soly's, I believe.
Scary? But it's smiling :evilgrin:Quote:

Myrddraal's is more cool than frightening, at least for me. Then again, I often call him SuperFade in my mind, which always makes me chuckle for some reason. ~D
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/image.../Myrddraal.jpg
Now if you look at Myrddaraals his face looks cold and dead. The hood makes it worse while the black lips just make it terrifying!
Come to think of it, his face reminds me of that of The Nameless One from Planescape: Torment.
It's the same gray zombie colour. :2thumbsup:
It would seem that not many of us are familiar with the Wheel of Time. :book:
Anyway, I like the sinister mod avatars, especially ER's. Their unnervingly inscrutable gaze should make one think at least twice about committing any mischief.
Antagonist
I wouldn't mind having to clean the .org toilets. It looks fun! :2thumbsup:
Did you ever see elephant poo ?Quote:

Are the mods starting to ditch their old mysterious nature?

Have fun in your time as a mortal. I have noticed that you are still marked as a moderator. What you really need is to be defrocked of your powers and become a member/junior member while. Then you can know what it feels like to be next to the bottom/at the bottom.
*evil laugh*
Errrr... whatever, Matthius Julius.
It's Avlvs Libvrnivs Britannicvs Maximvs now thankyou!Quote:
