The Story Game

This thread aims to add a story game to the Mead Hall. It basically involves each person posting a sentence into the thread that follows on from the previous post. Nobody should post straight after themselves: they should wait until at least two more people have posted till they post again. Eventually it should make a strange story that ends in an unexpected and peculiar way. I want to see where we get to after a few months.

I'll start with:
It was a cold, sinister and bitter evening as the young child, named Robert, crawled through the misty and bizarre wood.

in the wood, lay a dingy dark secret that even the prince of darkness could dream of

That last sentence made absolutely no sense to me.

This secret was so old, even the oldest of the trees could not remember its making.

Robert was too exhausted to run, but fear pushed him further.

Then suddenly, without warning, the dark and deep secret was reveled in an amazing and spectacular way.

Note: I would have said more but I want somebody else to decide what the secret should be.

Little did Robert know that this secret would lead to something horrible.

As he trudged along, he heard a frightning wail pierce the air, one that shook the very ground and caused the creatures of the land to scatter.

Sitting near the warm fire in the Great Room of the Imperial Palace, the old monk Aulus, servant of the Great Emperor Motep Ironfist, started shaking, and he screamed in agony: "Oh no, they have discovered it!".

I suppose I must write what the secret is:
"That Robert from the village has discovered my master's pet Thracian Horse!"

Note: For those who don't know: the Thracian horses are mythical carnivorous horses from Thrace. Their favourite food is human flesh.

For years they had feed it on peasants and prisioners of war, strengthening the poor beast, Aulus had adopted so long ago.

Unfortunately, Robert looked exactly like the Thracian horse's favorite meal.

After Robert had heard the wail he ran for his life away from the awful screeching, not really conscious of which path he was following.

He bagan to hear the galloping closing fast behind him, and when he turned to look, he tripped over an exposed root on the path.

p.s thank you for naming me emperor.

Just when he started to think the stomach of the giant beast would become his last resting place, he noticed a small gap in a nearby rocky hill.

He charged towards the gap as quickly as his tiny legs could carry him.

The valley had once been a fine land, the home of an older people, all dead from a great plauge, leaving their monuments and fortresses behind.

In this world of shadows the presence of the dead could still be felt and their moans still be heard.

A sudden relief came over Robert as he realised that he was no longer being pursued by the horse, this only lasted for a split second however when he realised that this could hardly be considered a better situation.

For, after squeezing through the hole in the cliff, infront of his very eyes he could see a huge valley now ruled by the dark Hades, the realm of Erobos, the home of the dead on Earth.

The terrifying screams of the tormented, long forgotten souls filled his heart with fear.

As the howl of hells watch dog ruminated in the frigid air behind him, the rocks closed off sealing him in.

Robert suddenly thought that he would have been better off as horse food when he saw what was infront of him.

He dropped to his knees as the horrors of the world engulfed him: the first living thing to venture in thisland since the days of Odessyeus,(I KNOW I spelled that wrong) and they wished to exterminate this life.

he stared a the dark banners, seeing the ruffled sign of his own conquered land, the same seal that he had found in the woods and hung from his neck.

Instantly one of the half dead shades who lived there glided across the black ground and breathed his icy, cold breath down Robert's neck.

the seal eminated a lovely chartruse which robert failed to notice in his pannic, he wasn't a fan of chartruse and tried to pretend it was a lighter color.

The shade began to glow in its own icy fire, but it retreated several feet when the seal began to glow its funky color.

Then, semi-randomly, the shade's seal began to turn into the monk, Aulus who appeared, after five seconds, infront of the icy cold and rocky spot where Robert stood.

Julian the apostate remember the rules. You must wait till two people have posted before you can post again.

Robert recognized the man from his village's temple, Aulus was his mentor, But he was alive and well when they had last parted just three months ago.

the shade still slightly chartruse, pointed to a sword as he whispered, "boy take back your kingdom... the land of oz... wait no wrong story... i remember ur supposed to free your homeland do that."

Robert remembered that his homeland was free and that Aulus was a mental patient

I am getting sick of people doing this!!!

"I am getting sick of people doing this!!!" Robert screamed at the shade, he was tired of saving lands but duty called.

He listened to the crazy old fool repeat himself, sounded more like gnomeland now.

"Shut up, youll blow my cover!" whispered the shade as he ripped off his mask and revealed himself to be Emperor Motep Ironfist.

Robert felt very strange, what was his emperor doing here, and why was his homeland not safe any more?

as he pondered, christmas music began to play and thus the dance-fight began.

"Julian, why do you always spoil this great story about Robert and the Thracian horse?", Andres yelled at his older brother.

"I don't" insisted Andre's ten year old brother Julian.

Thus, the two brothers twisted and turned in a dance-fight.

THe old emperor sneered at them as they fought, "TAKE THE BLOODY HORSE YOU PEASANT MONGRELS, TAKE ANYTHING JUST LEAVE"

a subplot.

The two kids fought off into the living room as Motep averted his gaze unto Robert.

Robert gazed at the emperor and started to laugh hysterical.

Motep glared at robert untill he stopped his laughter sullenly, and leaned back aginst the wall "I still dont know why you are here".

"I'm here to break-dance fight," said Robert.

"What do ya think, you idiot! I am here to ressurect the dead king Mantar
to save my kingdom from utter destruction...I am suprised you dont know, you only just left, boy."

shaka khan, Robert said "I still dont know why you are here" to Motep. I will post this in its stead.

Someone yelled, "they're break-dance fighting!"

...But those were the quarelling children trying to start them into it.

Then one of the servants announced that the feast was ready, and all rushed to find a seat at the big table in the main hall.

The food was poisened and the childern died, so now we can finally return to our topic!

The Emperor started to cry out his happiness for those annoying, spoiled brats were finally disposed of.

Sorry Motep--from my experience, on other forums these things tend to get onto a different topic rather easily...

Eh, I kind of suspected it. That is why you try your best to get It back on topic! p.s I did not kill them: the servants did. Under my pay!:grin2:
