I presume this is because you have disabled extensions. To enable them, open a folder (any folder), go to extra => folder options and display. The option to hide extensions should be somewhere on that list.Quote:

Thank you to my adoring admirers. And yes, i did find this on the net. You can do it so that it also doubles as a winrar file, or you can use a wav file instead of a jpg, so then you can have a song with a rar hidden in it.

I agree with KukriKhan, I may be a failure but um... er ... nevermind.
I wonder why I couldnt get it to work, I corrupted the file by flipping it, so If you did an edit then reversed it still may not work. so just download a fresh one
Maybe I was lucky, but all I did was right-click and save it as a jpg file. Then later renamed it as a mp3 once the trick was revealed.
